"Go, Go do one more! Do you think you can buy more than one bait at once? What do you think can come out of the higher-level baits? Do you know, maybe?" Nejire asked with an excited voice.
Izuku was still a bit flustered about how many things Nejire could say simultaneously, but it didn't bother him too much. He himself had a habit of losing himself in a long mutter sometimes.
"I think I can open more than one bait at the same time. Maybe we can test it later with the Intermediate draws. I don't know what comes out of the higher baits fishing." Izuku answered slowly while throwing his last beginner bait into the lake in front of him.
It was lucky that nobody else bothered to watch them.
The passerby stood still for some seconds when they saw the animation in the lake but didn't bother that long and left again.
In a world with quirks, some weird things are happening occasionally.
It's not unusual to see weird things from time to time.
Even though public quirk usage is forbidden, there are some quirks that are ignored most of the time when somebody uses them.
Offensive quirks and attacking someone with a quirk are, of course, forbidden, and heroes and police are coming at you in minutes.
Still, it's generally ignored if your Quirk is only defensive or creates some slight advantages in your everyday life.
Strictly speaking, it's still forbidden, but nobody would care about it as long as you don't inconvenience somebody else.
So, in the end, nobody cared that Izuku used his Quirk at the lake.
They just think it is a kid who wants to have some fun with his weak but nice-looking Quirk.
After Izuku answered her, Nejire lost herself in thoughts again.
"By the way, did you say Sea King flesh was the consolation prize?" Nejire asked with a little bit of excitement in her voice.
"Hmmm. Yes, that's the name." Izuku answered.
"Do you maybe see the world the prize is coming from? Is it the One Piece world? Does this world really exist? It sounds so exciting!" Nejire said while twitching in excitement.
"Huh, How do you know that it is the One Piece World?" Izuku asked in wonder what even brought Inko to a stop.
"Wait? You actually know another world?" Inko asked Nejire, bringing her back to the conversation. She didn't want to interrupt the two of them in their talk, but the fact that Nejire knew one of the other worlds could still be beneficial for her son if she knew how she knew.
"Of course, I know the One Piece World! It is an old anime show that I started to watch some weeks ago! It is actually not that well known since it came from the pre-quirk era! The theme is about a Pirate named Luffy who wants to find the One Piece treasure and become the King of the Pirates. If you can get things from this world, there are surely some Devil Fruits in the higher-level Baits! That would be so nice! You wouldn't have any problem being a strong Hero with one of them! When I come home, I have to watch the Anime more! Maybe we can even get some training material for your future training! Wait. I didn't even ask if you want to be a Hero. Normally, all kids our age want to be, but are you the same? Of course, I also want to be a Hero in the future!" Nejire once again lost herself in her excitement, but there was much interesting information in what Nejire said right now.
"Of course, I also want to be a Hero!" Izuku answered her happily, knowing for sure that his Quirk had some things that could make him stronger. In a pinch, he could still be a businessman who sells the things that come from his fishing, but being a hero is still one of his dearest dreams.
"Maybe we could watch this One Piece show together?" Izuku asked with some hope.
"Hmmmm. Okay. I just watched the first 30 episodes. There is no problem re-watching them, but how do we do that? We live at least 2 hours from each other? We could do Screen sharing if you want!" Nejire said happily, finally being able to do things with friends for the first time.
"Alright. Let's start tonight!" Izuku said excitedly.
Inko looked at the two, also happy that her son had finally found a friend with whom he could do some things.
Of course, she also plans to watch the show privately from now on. There is no way that she will not help her son the best she can.
Before anyone could say anything more, the lake in front of them once again changed, and Izuku once again got the message in front of him.
[Congratulations, you used a Beginner bait and successfully fished: Beginner Quirk enhancing Card.]
[Beginner Quirk enhancing Card: Instantly strengthens the Quirk of the person that crushes this Card (small amount).]
After that came out, Izuku was a bit sad. He knew his ability wasn't a quirk, and that thing that came out wouldn't help him even one bit. At least he can give something to his mother.
Not thinking about it, he took out the Card he had just got and gave it to his mother with a smile.
"Crush the card," Izuku said to her.
Not thinking about it, Inko had just done that before a small stream of power suddenly streamed through her body. She could feel like something inside of her got stronger, but she didn't understand what it was.
"What was this card Izuku? I could feel something in me getting stronger, but I don't understand what it was." Inko asked, puzzled.
"It was a Beginner quirk-enhancing Card. It should have strengthened your Quirk." Izuku answered with a smile.
This sentence shocked Inko and Nejire on the spot.
"Quirk enhancement? Why didn't you use it, Izuku!" Inko asked with worry.
"I can't. These things don't work with my Quirk if you know what I mean." Izuku answered her.
After thinking about it, Inko understood. 'Izuku's power isn't really a quirk in the first place.'
Thinking about her son, who gave her this Card without hesitation, she couldn't help but smile at him and say. "Thanks Izuku. For giving something so precious to me."
He probably hadn't heard her since Nejire once again talked to him without stopping, but she just looked at him with a smile and didn't bother him.
"Okay. Let's do the next two Intermediate Bait at the same time!" Izuku exclaimed.
