Chapter 2: Awakening (Rewritten)

The first time Emma opened her eyes after leaving from the being made of light, she was assaulted by the lights of a hospital room.

She looked around to see that she seemed to be in an examination building of some kind, one that allowed them to check something about her.

It was then she slightly felt something, causing her to look towards the door to see an unfamiliar man with orange hair yelling at a doctor, with the doctor seeming quite fearful if what Emma felt from him was anything to go by.

But, it was at that time that she suddenly gained an immense headache, as all sorts of memories were embedded into her mind.

From the earliest memories she had about learning to walk and talk, to the many times she attempted to interact with her father only to gain the cold shoulder, to her suddenly unlocking her quirk as she passed out due to the monstrous amount of consciousnesses she felt all at once.

She was a 4-year-old girl named Emma Frost, just like the character she asked for. She was the only daughter of a man named Winston Frost and his wife named Catherine, though she faced the unfortunate fate of dying during childbirth.

Her parents were originally from America, where they were extremely influential due to the company they ran called Frost International.

It was a major conglomerate that was known for its transportation services such as ships and aircraft alongside buses and trains, and technology such as phones and computers.

After the death of her mother, her father had decided to move to Japan so that he would no longer be reminded of her due to them traveling a wide variety of places in the States, or at least that was what she had been able to piece together from the maids.

So, Winston and Emma fully relocated to the country, with them viewing it as safe due to the protection brought by All Might

She also noticed that the man seemed to be cold towards his her as from what the gossip she heard around the mansion was, he blamed her for his wife's death.

She then looked over at the two of them to see both the doctor and her father staring at her, before her father looked at the doctor and asked "Is she ok?"

The doctor simply looked exhausted as he looked at Winston and said "Sir, I've told you 10 times that it was most likely her awakening her quirk."

Winston simply looked embarrassed, something that Emma had never seen before in this lifetime, and turned his head at that, but Emma felt one of his inner thoughts due to her lack of control.

'As long as she's fine then it won't matter. I already lost Catherine, I won't lose her too.'

Emma looked around to see who spoke, but she saw no one there, with the doctor simply looking at her with confusion before he spoke, as if he reached some form of epiphany.

"We need to test what your quirk may be while we're here, so let's get started. What feeling do you get instinctively, as if it is a part of you?"

Emma tried to feel something inside of her, and as if something clicked in her mind, she felt her body and mind change completely.

Both the doctor and her father were stunned as they saw Emma look at them with a cold gaze while her body glistened and shined like a diamond.

"Amazing." the doctor muttered before he ran over to his notepad.

"You said your quirk was a transformation-type quirk that gives you the ability to turn your limbs into diamonds while your wife's quirk had an emitter-type quirk that gave her the ability to scan minds right?" the doctor asked as he looked at his notes to which Winston nodded.

"Then it seems your daughter possesses a mutated version of your quirk that allows her to turn her full body into diamond, though she also seems to lose her emotions when using it. Perhaps she may even gain some dormant form of telepathy similar to your wife's if the signs I saw earlier are any indication." the doctor finished as he wrote something down.

'It would be best if I hid my telepathic and telekinetic powers until I developed them to a sufficient level. I can simply say that my second quirk awakened late.' Emma rationalized before she exited her diamond form and her emotions returned.

"What would you like to name your quirk young lady?" the doctor asked Emma.

"Crystal Interference." she answered after a minute of pondering, as she named it after both abilities commonly associated with Emma Frost.

The doctor seemed surprised by that as Emma heard him think in surprise

'She actually used a mature name for it? I was expecting something like 'Twinkly Diamond'. Seems like she's a smart one. Perhaps I should inform the Commission about her.'

Emma stayed in her diamond form for the rest of the day, so that she would not showcase her panic from the Doctor's thoughts.

Emma was finally discharged from the hospital after a few more rounds of testing, with both her and her father headed inside of their truck where the driver awaited.

After both had reached the vehicle and entered, the man began the drive home, with the vehicle entering an uncomfortable silence.

"Father, what are we having for dinner." Emma asked, breaking the silence, as it was something her prior self would always ask him, though he never responded and usually ignored her questions.

As per usual, he paid her little attention, choosing to instead looke outside of the window.

Emma assumed that the man possible did harbor some unfound hostility at her for the loss of his wife even if his earlier thoughts said otherwise, though the next thing she heard completely shattered this perception.

'I'll make sure you eat the finest foods in the world as always my darling little girl. And if you don't like it, I'll make sure the chef disappears again.'

Emma only had one thought flash across her mind.

'Why the **** is my father a Tsundere!'
