Chapter 8 - C'est la vie, Heart Attack: 2

[16 years ago, Morioh, 2108]

The Story of Yoshikawa Kira's downfall was one of pity. A woman who dreamt about making a name for herself, living a life without concern and without fear of anyone's opinions—without her family making her keep up the reputation as a family of rich former nobles—all came crashing down on the night of February 13th, Sunday, at 2:30 PM, when she found out something about herself that she, nor her fiance at the time, had been prepared for.

"So… you want to run that by me again?" Yoshimura Sugimoto asked, raising an eyebrow as he sat at a dinner table with his fiance, Yoshikawa Kira. They were eating Teriyaki with a side of rice for dinner, and both were in casual clothing. Yoshimura was wearing a white shirt, and black pants, as well as a pair of baby blue slippers. Yoshikawa was wearing a pink blouse and a pair of red shorts and bright pink slippers.

"I said..." The blond-haired woman began, sucking in a deep breath. "I'm pregnant, Mura… I'm pregnant with your child," Yoshikawa said, looking down at herself with a bit of a shy, almost embarrassed look. "I… I think last night, the condom must have broke, and…. And…." Yoshikawa said, a small blush on her cheeks as Yoshimura dropped his chopsticks.

Neither of them was ready to raise a child, and Yoshimura knew that. But, at the same time, the idea of having a child was something that excited him. Though, he wouldn't lie and say that his first idea was to get an abortion, seeing as they weren't prepared.

Unfortunatly, or fortunately, depending on how you looked at it, a law had been passed that made it so that having an abortion was illegal. The countries that this affected were the East Asian countries, America, and a majority of the E.U. countries. If someone performed one in any of the aforementioned areas around the world, they would be arrested and charged a hefty fine and sent to prison for a year. Those who got them were also charged with the same fine but without a prison sentence.

The law came into being once Quirks started to show up. The only way to legally terminate a baby during pregnancy was if the following scenarios were happening: The woman who was having the baby was having health problems due to the pregnancy, was homeless and or a drug addict, or the baby died within the womb, and it had to be extracted.

The law caused social uproar across the world, but eventually, after a few years passed, everyone forgot about it and carried on with their lives, minus a few activist groups online.

"I… I see…." Yoshimura said, blinking a few times, shock taking over his system. He covered his mouth, stroking the small goatee he had been growing out. They had only been engaged for a month, but if this was going to happen… "As much as I know this is a bit early, but… we're going to have to marry sooner than we'd want," Yoshimura said, causing Yoshikawa to recoil.

"B-But—"

"No buts, Kawa-chan. As much as I know we had plans to have the wedding in the summer, I don't want to have a bastard child before we marry. That, and my parents are… strict. They'd disavow the marriage if they found out you were pregnant before we got married," Yoshimura responded, picking up one of the Teriyaki pieces with his chopsticks. "This… also came at a very bad time, for me, as well…." Yoshimura said, sighing.

"What do you mean, honey?" Yoshikawa asked as Yoshimura let out a long, drawn-out sigh. He took a bite out of the piece of Teriyaki, before putting it back down, swallowing, then using the napkin to clean up around his mouth.

"I… just got promoted," Yoshimura explained, causing Yoshikawa to raise an eyebrow.

"And how is that a bad thing? It means we'll have more money to raise the baby," Yoshikawa said, crossing her arms. "Don't get me wrong. I'm not emotionally prepared to do this, but I'd rather not end up with a fine on my doorstep," Yoshikawa continued, frowning as Yoshimura cursed under his breath.

"The position I'm now in requires me to move locations from the Japanese front to the Chinese front. On top of that, I have to move TO China. I tried denying the promotion, but the raise it gave me… would boost our income by 150%, and that way we can finally move out of this damn apartment. So… I accepted the raise. If I knew you were pregnant beforehand, I would've declined," Yoshimura explained, causing Yoshikawa to purse her lips with a conflicted expression.

"Can't… can't you ask to change your mind?" Yoshikawa asked as Yoshimura shook his head.

"A former agent for the Foundation tried that. They ended up getting fired instead. I'm sorry, Yoshikawa. However, that doesn't mean I can't do my best to try anyway. I WILL be there for you, I refuse to leave you alone. I'm not going to give up on you. I promise. This job WON'T drive a wedge between us!"

And for a few months, just after their premature wedding, where Yoshimura took Yoshikawa's last name and became a Kira, things were looking smooth. Yoshikawa was happy, and so was Yoshimura. However, once Yoshihara, their daughter, was born, things became dicey. A year into the child being alive, Yoshikawa became disillusioned with the idea of Yoshihara even being there, and for a while, considered abandoning her in an orphanage.

However, unfortunately for her, she couldn't. She didn't want to lose Yoshimura. Despite being miserable, she tried her best to live a normal life with Yoshihara around. For a bit, Yoshikawa got attached to the child. That, and she wondered what her Quirk would be. Yoshimura's Quirk allowed him to see through walls, and Yoshikawa could swap objects around in her hands instantly, so she wondered what would've happened when her daughter got her own Quirk.

But unfortunately, it didn't go the way she wanted.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but your daughter doesn't have a Quirk. We did a blood test, the pinky-toe joint test, and a body x-ray just to check if it was internal. We found no traces of their being any sort of Quirk forming in your child. I hate to say it, but she's Quirkless. I hope that didn't ruin anything," the doctor explained, causing Yoshikawa's left eye to twitch.

The young child didn't know it yet, but that one explanation would cause her a world of pain. "Oh, don't worry doctor. This changes nothing."

Knowing now that her child was nothing more than a sack of flesh with no possibility of having any sort of future, Yoshikawa relegated to booze to chase away her anger and sadness, desperate not to take it out on Yoshihara, until one day, she snapped. From that day forth, she tormented, hurt, abused, and made Yoshihara's life horrible.

There would be days where she would starve the girl, days where she would beat her, days where she would let other people who she hired as 'babysitters' man-handle her in any way they wished, and days where she would whip her, and so on. All the while, she felt no remorse for what it was she was doing. She did all of this, all of this suffering, all of this abuse, all of it was done because she wanted to.

But then, it happened.

January 24 th, 12:15 PM, Wednesday 2112, was when Yoshikawa found out that Yoshimura was never coming home again. He died in a villain attack, one where he saved the lives of his co-workers by defending them with all he could.

Instead of blaming the villain that killed her now ex-husband, the person who had left her widowed with nothing to look forward to in the future, Yoshikawa blamed Yoshihara, seeing her as the reason why he was even there in the first place.

When Yoshimura died, and when they ran out of the money that they were entitled to when she turned in his life insurance, they fell on hard times—even harder than before—and Yoshikawa fell into a downward spiral to the point of whoring herself out, and sometimes even letting her clients do things to Yoshihara for her own sick pleasure.

It was at this point that Yoshikawa, the upstanding citizen, became a monster. She enjoyed watching Yoshihara suffer, she enjoyed watching her cry and enjoyed watching her bleed. Every bit of pain that Yoshihara had to endure was thanks to Yoshikawa in some way, shape, or form. Just so that she could get her sick kicks.

After all, if you could torture the reason for your life's downward spiral, or at the very least, what you blamed on your life's problems, wouldn't you?

It all came to a head when she brought a villain in to kill Yoshihara once she got offered a job at the Speedwagon Foundation in America. She could finally sever all ties with her previous life so that she could build up a new one, forget Yoshimura even existed, forget her past relationship, and perhaps have a family that didn't remind her of her past failures.

But, in an unforeseen turn of events, the villain saved Yoshihara's life, and 10 years later, Yoshikawa Kira would be notified of this very thing, and come down to Japan to end the life of her so-called mistake.

At least, that was what she thought would happen….

[Present Day]

Yoshikawa Kira, bloodied, broken, and half-alive stared at the mistake she brought upon the world, not with anger, but with fear. The cold, emotionless human being that stood before her, holding her stomach wound with a vacant look in her eyes made something within Yoshikawa break.

At one point, she believed that Yoshihara was a mistake that needed to be rid of. She saw that it affected her life negatively just thinking about her, and thought that it would be easy to just kill her and be done with it. That was before she found that the brat was a Stand User.

Her Stand, of which she had now only just learned that its name was Killer Queen, was terrifying. A Stand that was not only fast but strong was something that C'est la vie could handle. But a Stand that had explosive long-ranged abilities? Well, she could also counter that with her Stand's ability. It wasn't too hard to redirect the bubbles. In some regards, C'est la vie was physically stronger than Killer Queen, if potentially matching its strength, as well as its speed.

But then came that new pest. Sheer Heart Attack. If it wasn't invincible, and if C'est la vie could actually counter it, then maybe she wouldn't be terrified out of her mind. But seeing as she couldn't, and seeing as those cold, piercing eyes of her spawn stared into her soul, knowing full well she could just sick Sheer Heart Attack on her at any moment and instantly win—it drove whatever bravado she might have had right out the window.

"So," the mistake began, looking around her surroundings as Killer Queen picked up Sheer Heart Attack, the tank Stand entering its hand, a locking sound echoing throughout the area. As soon as it did that, something came out of its fingertips, something that C'est la vie noticed immediately.

Smaller Sheer Heart Attacks, unfortunately still too big to be sucked up by her Stand. They looked to be around 5cm tall, but 8cm wide due to their tank treads. There were at least 5 of them—one for each finger—and assuming their power stayed the same, the fear that was building up in Yoshikawa's chest only skyrocketed.

"How do you want to do this?" Yoshihara said, her eyes moving away from the older blond's face, staring at her right hand. "Do you want to do this the easy way, or the hard way?" And as soon as she said that, the brat began her advance. Burning rage flowed through Yoshihara, each step she took with a measured look in her eyes showing that in spades.

"C'est la vie!" Yoshikawa shouted, her Stand racing toward Yoshihara and Killer Queen as the blond teen sighed, shaking her head with what looked like a disappointed expression plastered on her face.

"The hard way, then, fine," Yoshihara stated, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes. Killer Queen met C'est la vie halfway, their fists clashing, causing a small shockwave. The recoil that was caused due to the punch caused Yoshikawa to flinch. That hadn't happened the last time their fists met, so what was the big deal?

It did nothing to stop the older of the two, however, as C'est la vie readied another punch, which was blocked by the same thing. Growling, C'est la vie used all of its strength and speed in one go, sending a flurry of punches at Killer Queen, the pink cat Stand met her in kind, blocking with the same flurry of punches at the same speed, the only thing being able to be seen was that of blurs.

Off in the distance, 5 minutes away, were four police cars. After all, Yoshihara had been the one to call for them, as well as an ambulance that was on its way to hopefully save anyone who had been hurt by Sheer Heart Attack as a result of it going on a rampage. She might have said what she had said to Yoshikawa to scare her, but she did not mean a single word of it, and neither did Medi-lady, seeing as the two knew each other.

Although, If it wasn't for that ghost telling her what Sheer Heart Attack did when she awakened the ability, she probably wouldn't have done so.

Shockwaves erupted from the epicentre of their punches, their auras glowing brightly as neither of them let up. In a split second, Yoshihara saw an opening and used it to land a pot shot on C'est la vie. Killer Queen slipped a punch through the woman's Stands offensive guard, connecting its right fist into C'est la vie's right cheek, making Yoshikawa spit up blood from the impact, dazing the Stand as well as the user.

Killer Queen then followed it up with another punch dead center in C'est la vie's face, knocking the woman back as she stumbled, then landed a left-handed punch on the opposite side of where its right fist had collided. Two of the miniature Sheer Heart Attack's implanted themselves on C'est la vie's face and then exploded, sending the blond-haired woman flying, her back skidding on the sidewalk before she tumbled, blood streaming down her nose, mouth, as well as having a nasty open wound on her cheek.

However, due to the adrenaline coursing through Yoshikawa's veins, it did nothing to prevent her from counterattacking. Letting out an angered shout, C'est la vie rushed Yoshihara and Killer Queen, stopping a few feet away and unleashing a flurry of kicks in her direction. Killer Queen did its best to deflect all of the kicks, only to let a few slip past. When the kicks connected, a majority of them hit Killer Queen in the stomach, causing the wound on Yoshihara's stomach to begin to reopen.

The flurry of kicks to the stomach was ended by a straight kick to the face. As Killer Queen and Yoshihara were dazed, C'est la vie scooped up small bits of metal shrapnel and shot it out with its opposite hand at Yoshihara.

As those pieces of metal shrapnel got close to actually hitting Yoshihara, one of the miniature Sheer Heart Attacks intercepted the bits of metal and blew up, turning them into dust. Yoshikawa growled, taking a step forward as C'est la vie then winded back a punch.

Yoshikawa knew that once the mistake was killed, she wouldn't be able to rest easy. Josefumi would most likely look out for her killer, as well as whatever friends the brat might have had.

"When I'm through with her, I have to go after those other brats. If I don't, it might as well be assisted suicide," Yoshikawa thought, gnashing her teeth. "DIE ALREADY!" Yoshikawa shouted, the punch swinging forward.

The punch connected with Killer Queen's stomach, opening the wound once more as it began to bleed, as well as knocking them both back. The humanoid cat Stand returned the punch in kind with a grunt, punching C'est la vie in the face, knocking a handful of teeth out with it.

When Yoshikawa felt her mouth and realized that she was missing teeth—more proof of that fact being on the floor in front of her—she snapped.

"YOU FUCKING BITCH!" Yoshikawa shouted, C'est la vie recovering from the punch, delivering a few rapid blows at Killer Queen, who blocked them all with punches of their own. They were right back to where they were just a few moments ago, causing Yoshihara to grunt.

"This is pointless!" Yoshihara shouted, glaring at Yoshikawa, who glared back with a manic gaze of her own. The two Stand's continued their punch rushes, C'est la vie slowing down slightly as Killer Queen sped up.

"Doesn't fucking matter!" Yoshikawa spat, baring her teeth, noticing the slowdown, resulting in her forcing her Stand to match Killer Queen's speed. "Besides, once I'm done with you, your friends are next!" Yoshikawa spat, and at that moment, something broke within Yoshihara. Her pupils narrowed, and whatever expression she had on her face from before was replaced by an angry snarl, the angry look shared by Killer Queen.

It happened all too quickly for anyone to stop it. The police cars showed, pulling in at the scene as several police officers got out of their cars, a majority of them not knowing what was going on, but were alerted to a villain attack, having been alerted to it by a hero-in-training.

But as they stepped out of their cars, what they saw was something that made them all go wide-eyed with shock, horror, and awe.

"YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE!"

As Yoshihara shouted that, Killer Queen closed in on C'est la vie, using its slowed-down punches as an opening. Within a split second, Yoshikawa's eyes widened as she puked up a giant globule of blood. The older blond looked down at herself, seeing a massive hole square in her chest, looking up shakily at C'est la vie and Yoshihara.

Killer Queen's fist was driven through her Stand's chest, meaning that the damage was reflected on her. Yoshikawa choked on whatever air was in her throat, letting out a gasp, and then, she fell to the ground, limp and dead, the last thing she saw being the hole in her chest, a hole right where her non-existent heart would be. Not moments later did C'est la vie fade away into nothingness, crumbling away like porcelain after being dropped on the floor.

Yoshihara let out a shaky breath as Killer Queen and Sheer Heart Attack vanished. She stared at the body of Yoshikawa Kira, her expression hardening, lowering her head as she closed her eyes. Not a moment after Yoshikawa's corpse hit the floor, the police swooped in. They forced her to the ground, snapping handcuffs around her wrists, before dragging her to the back of a police car, violently. She did not resist the entire time, only looking back at the body, blocking out all the voices that were shouting and talking.

Just in the distance, approaching the crime scene, was Midnight and Aizawa, both of whom had been at another job just moments ago, watching as Yoshihara was loaded into the back of a police car with cuffs on her wrists. Nemuri saw as Death Arms' body was loaded into the back of an ambulance, as well as a blond-haired woman, who had a massive hole in her chest.

And all Nemuri could think was this: "What did you do, Yoshi-chan…?"

Detective Tsukauchi Naomasa was a man best not to be trifled with within the police force, especially when he hadn't had his morning, afternoon, or late-night coffee. For a man who worked 16-hour shifts, getting in his way was something that nobody did. Not only that, but he was someone who was highly respected all across the country for his ability to get a 100% conviction rate on criminals.

This was due to his Quirk, Lie Detector. It was a pretty simple Quirk and one that his family had since the dawn of Quirks. Effectively speaking, if someone lied, he knew about it instantly, which would allow him to pick out truths and lies in statements. His Quirk also allowed him to identify truths, as well.

He sorted these two things out by a lie being a deep dinging sound, and the truth being a light dinging sound—one harsh, and the other sweet and pleasant.

It also didn't help that Naomasa was pretty good at intimidating criminals, what with his tall, 6-foot stature and his body built like that of an athletic boxer ready to suplex anyone at a moment's notice if need be. Though, a majority of the time, he hid this body type behind the veil of a dark brown trenchcoat and fedora combo.

Another thing to note was that it was a hidden rule among any police department that if he was having a bad day, to not talk to him unless spoken to. Normally, it meant that he was deep in thought about something, and wanted to be left alone. Even the rookies knew of this rule on day one.

And today, he was not having a good day. Though to be fair, none of the days he had during working hours were considered 'good ones,' especially when you're dealing with murder cases, villain attack reports, and other things constantly—some were better than others, but this one was different. Today was a bit more, interesting, to say the very least.

It wasn't every day that he got to work on a case like this, especially with the limited information he had, alone. Though, in the back of his head, he figured that this would be simple, quick, and easy. Get a quick confession out of the person who committed the crime, send them to prison for the maximum sentence the charge entailed—that being first-degree murder, and that sentence being life in prison without the possibility of parole—then continue on the day as if nothing ever happened.

But what made this case interesting? Well, to put it simply: it was due to how rare it was.

Sitting in front of him, inside an interrogation room, was a U.A. student, wearing a pair of Quirk restraining handcuffs around her wrists, which matched the punkish outfit she was wearing. Currently, she was facing a potential charge of first-degree murder, which was a first for a U.A. student. The person in question was Yoshihara Kira, someone who Naomasa had always been slightly suspicious about due to her last name and how it related to a man by the name of Yoshikage Kira, a once prolific Serial Killer in the town of Morioh, a case his great-grandmother worked on, who died nearly 100 years ago after getting his head crushed by an ambulance.

She sat in front of him, a completely emotionless expression on her face, her hair messy, her clothing bloodied, and overall, just straight-up not looking good. After all, how could she have been? According to the officers on the scene, she had just finished murdering someone and looked pretty beat up. There were bruises on her face as well as on her exposed arms, as well as a bleeding wound on her stomach that was bandaged up by the station's resident nurse.

Overall, he'd have to say that the kid had seen better days.

"I have to say, this is the first time I've seen a hero student sit before me in an interrogation room, Ms. Kira, especially for a charge like this," Naomasa said, trying to break the ice, only to get no reply, which made him sweat a little bit. "Alright, she doesn't like pleasantries, fair enough." Naomasa thought, clearing his throat.

"Alright… so, let's cut straight to the chase. The police officers who YOU called, just thought that I'd remind you of that, showed up to witness you kill what appeared to be an innocent by—"

"I'm stopping you right there," Yoshihara immediately interrupted, anger in her eyes as the sheer inclination that whoever she had killed was innocent. The moment that happened, a wave of killing intent filled the air. It was thick, it was suffocating, and Naomasa wasn't the only one who picked up on it. The two guards in the room picked up on the aggression, and as one of the more eager guards approached behind her to reach out to grab her by the head for even so much as daring to interrupt the Detective, something happened that shocked everyone in the room.

Naomasa was about to tell the guard to back off, only for the guard to stop in his tracks. However, that wasn't what caused Naomasa to go wide-eyed. What caused him to go wide-eyed was the fact that he was choking, and that something was grabbing him by the neck, something they couldn't see. The guard was thrown into the wall, knocking him unconscious.

The other guard was about to do something, reaching for his gun out of fear, only to have the same gun be ripped out of its holster, the cord being snapped that kept it on the man's person, and for the gun to be crushed in front of him. The guard pressed himself up against the wall, and all the while Yoshihara kept staring at Naomasa, who was now staring at her, more specifically her cuffs.

"How is she able to use her Quirk?! The cuffs are supposed to shut those down!" Naomasa thought, his thoughts racing a mile a minute as Yoshihara began to speak.

"My apologies," Yoshihara said, sighing, a bored expression replacing her once angered one. "Killer Queen doesn't like it when people threaten me," Yoshihara explained, earning a glare from Naomasa, livid at the fact that she had just attacked one of the guards. Somehow.

"What was that, and how could you use your Quirk with those on?! They suppress Quirks!" Naomasa demanded as Yoshihara rolled her eyes, only further making Naomasa angry. He was about to say something about attacking a police officer until Yoshihara spoke up, and for that glare of hers put the fear of God in him, making him close his mouth.

"Before you say anything, Detective. You should pick your words carefully. You wouldn't want to upset me, would you?" Yoshihara stated, causing the other police guard to reach for his baton, moments away from launching at Yoshihara to strike her, only to have something indent his face, blood spewing from his nose and now busted lip, also knocking him out.

"W-Wha—"

"Also, have you ever stopped to consider that there are different powers out there other than Quirks? Maybe that's why these cuffs are nothing more than just regular old handcuffs for me?" Yoshihara continued, her eyes narrowing further at Naomasa, ding going off in his head as his Quirk detected a truth. Naomasa shook his head for a brief second, raising an eyebrow, not believing what his Quirk just registered to him.

"I'm sorry… can you, repeat that?" Naomasa said, confusion littering his tone, his anger subsiding and being replaced with fear, causing Yoshihara to shake her head, an annoyed expression taking up her face's visage.

"I'm not repeating myself. You heard me clearly if your reaction has any indication of it. Excuse me for a moment," Yoshihara replied, the cuffs snapping in two in front of Naomasa as they slid off of her wrists. This caused Naomasa to recoil back in his chair, looking at Yoshihara, who was now rubbing her wrists, letting out a small sigh. "I hope you don't mind, but those were getting uncomfortable. Also, I know there are people listening in to us if that camera is to be believed, so I'm going to give you a basic explanation of what happened at that scene, seeing as you're not going to ask any questions," Yoshihara said, narrowing her eyes.

Naomasa was about to say something, again, only for Yoshihara to brush past him opening his mouth and talking instead.

"That woman you just called "innocent" a few seconds ago, you know, before those guards made the stupid mistake to attempt to 'punish me' for interrupting you, was the villain I called about. She was the one who shot me in the stomach, shoulder, and knee. Now, for clarification, that woman also had the same power I have, so Quirk restraining cuffs wouldn't have worked on her either. Oh, and these powers are called Stands. Long story short, they're physical manifestations of someone's soul, those without Stands can't see them, while those with them can. I hope that makes any sense," Yoshihara began, multiple cheery-sounding dings going off in Naomasa's head.

"What the—"

"Continuing on," Yoshihara said, interrupting the detective's train of thought. "I killed her out of self-defence, as she was going to kill me and go after my friends once she was done with me. So, that "first-degree murder" charge is, in all reality, all based on self-defence and protection of the innocent who would've otherwise been at harm, which, if I am not mistaken, was put in place so that anyone, i.e. heroes or heroes in training, who believed deadly force was required to end a potentially lethal fight; need I even say that the fight was most definitely a lethal one, would protect anyone who was threatening to kill others by the way of killing them, or if they themselves were almost killed and though to retaliate in kind. If my wounds do not already prove that, then I don't know what will, Detective."

After finishing her argument, Naomasa was taken aback at just how thoroughly the girl knew the law system regarding lethal force. He assumed she might have had a basic understanding of the basic laws, but the fact that she knew an obscure law such as that was something that not even most normal pro-heroes knew about, not even All Might. Though, that shouldn't have been as much of a shock as it was, seeing as she did live with and train under the pro hero, Midnight.

"I really should have seen that coming…." Naomasa thought. He wasn't going to lie and say that he wanted to make sure that someone like this was locked up, not only because the cuffs didn't work on her due to her… unique… set of powers, but with her ability to kill people and not care about it, to him, sounded like the behaviour of either a psychopath or a sociopath.

"Later, think about that later. I have other things to think about."

Naomasa let out a sigh, biting his lip. Legally speaking, he couldn't hold her here, not even overnight in a detention cell. He couldn't even put any charges on her criminal record, not even illegal Quirk Usage. "Stands… I'll have to look into those. If they are as widespread as she's making them out to be, then perhaps we need to look into any cases involving psychic abilities or Quirks," Naomasa thought, shaking his head. "Later, pay attention to the facts at hand, think about that later."

"I… see. You know about that law," the detective admitted sheepishly. And here he thought he could've gotten a clean and easy arrest and conviction. "Well, I can't say much of anything now other than you're free to go. Though, I will advise you to NOT do that again. You're being let off with a warning, as much as I don't want to," Naomasa stated as Yoshihara rolled her eyes, walking out of the interrogation room without so much as a word.

Naomasa cursed under his breath, grabbing his fedora by the brim. The tension in the air was gone, and his fighting will have been sucked out of him. "That kid… she's going to become an issue, isn't she…." Naomasa thought, groaning.

As Yoshihara left the interrogation room, the first thing she saw was Nemuri, who was standing there with Aizawa as well as Nedzu, the latter two of who were looking at her with a mixture of disappointment, but also concern. She made no comment when they looked at her, nor when she glanced at them. Aizawa went to say something, though she simply turned the corner. Although, before she fully left the hall, she stopped, turned around, and looked at Nemuri, disregarding Aizawa and Nedzu completely.

"If you want to talk to me, I'm going to be in the car I am assuming you drove here in, if not, I'll be at the suite in my room," Yoshihara said, looking at Nedzu and Aizawa. "The same goes for you guys, too, though I'd like to ask to speak about this tomorrow when in regards to you two morons. I have no time nor the want to speak to anyone right now. So if you want to talk to me, do it when I don't feel like ripping someone's head off," Yoshihara spat, leaving the building a few moments later.

Nemuri felt a chill run up her spine, as did Aizawa and Nedzu. "I think… we should heed her warning," Nedzu commented, earning a nod from Aizawa, a deep frown forming on his face.

"Yeah. I mean, I had a feeling she was the one who killed that villain that threatened to kill Izuku last month, but this all but confirms that. It would seem as if Kira has a track record of killing villains. Not that I am against it, but still. This could become a problem if not dealt with soon," Aizawa stated, crossing his arms.

Nemuri didn't say a single thing, mostly because she had nothing really to say. In the back of her mind, she was beating herself up. This seemed to be a pattern that she was not liking. Anytime that Yoshihara was not at U.A., she was getting attacked by someone. It was starting to get to her, and it was showing with just how violent and jaded she had become.

Or maybe, this was just how she was even before the two met.

Whatever the case might have been, she felt that perhaps getting the teen some form of therapy would help. The last time she tried, Yoshihara stopped going after a few days and said that they weren't useful. HoundDog had been annoyed that she skipped out on the sessions, but said that she was allowed to pop in whenever she felt like she needed it. While that was all well and good, Nemuri was done playing games. Now, she wasn't giving Yoshihara a choice. She was going to get to the bottom of whatever was causing her adopted daughter to murder those who slighted her.

"Nemuri, since your place is currently being fixed, and since the elevator broke, if you want, you two can stay at our place for the night. We have two guest bedrooms you can use, just don't make a mess of the sheets," Aizawa said, snapping Nemuri out of her thoughts, walking beside her as they left by themselves, seeing as Nedzu was asked to stay by Naomasa to discuss further proceedings.

Nemuri just nodded, accepting the offer. Aizawa saw the look of conflict in her eyes, which made him sigh. "Nemuri, you and I both know that there is something wrong with Kira, correct?" Aizawa said, making Nemuri freeze up for a second, before sheepishly looking away.

"Now that you mention it… whenever I look into her eyes…."

"You see death, right?" Aizawa finished, making Nemuri nod, a troubled expression on her face. Aizawa let out a sigh, wishing he hadn't quit smoking right about now. "Yoshihara is troubled, that much I could tell since day one. With her power, she could become one of the more terrifying villains out there. The ability to kill anyone she deems as a threat without so much as lifting a finger, to most, is something that even I have trouble not thinking about," Aizawa stated, exiting the police station with Nemuri.

"Not to mention, the press is only going to make things worse. I saw those news helicopters, and seeing as Yoshihara is pretty recognizable…."

"People are going to be outraged that she's even allowed to go to U.A. anymore, especially if they begin to spin a false narrative," Aizawa finished for Nemuri, again, making the ravenette smile, though it was more hollow than anything else that resembled joy. "And if the class sees it, which they no doubt will, I know some of them don't trust Yoshihara, especially after what they saw during the combat exams. They can hide it from each other all they want, but I can see it. She caused a divide in the class after what happened to Jirou, hurting her enough to draw blood. That distrust is only going to get worse…."

Nemuri frowned at this. She could sense it as well. Everyone, with the exception of Midoriya, Kujo, and Ashido, seemed to be distant towards Yoshihara, even after the USJ when she was the one responsible for bringing the heroes.

She just hoped that things would get better for Kira, but the likelihood of that happening was small, if not microscopic. "Damnit, Yoshi-chan, why do you keep getting yourself in trouble!"

And she wasn't the only one thinking that. Only a few hours after the incident, Akira, Otoshi, and Sayaka were all sitting at a restaurant, reading the newspaper. Akira pinched the bridge of his nose, sighing as he did so. "Damnit, kid…."

The headline read: U.A. Hero Course Student, Kira Yoshihara, responsible for the DEATH of an innocent bystander, and the pro hero Death Arms – Police Report in the information section!

But they were not the only ones reading the newspaper that night, at least, outside of being a mundane civilian, that is. One person, in particular, standing by themselves next to a smouldering pile of ash deep within an alleyway, purple scars dressing his arms, his black hair flowing in the wind, his bright blue eyes dancing with intrigue, stared at that newspaper with interest. "Oh? Well, I didn't think I'd see you again, kiddo, and in the newspaper as well with a headline such as this?" The man said, burning away the piece of paper with sharp, hot blue flames.

"What an interesting turn of events indeed."
