Dean closed the main door behind him and walked towards the living room. He saw his mom watching TV. He cracked his neck and walked towards his mom."Oh my, look how bad the world has become." Mrs. Rayden exclaims while glancing at her youngest son and back to the TV."Huh?" Dean sits next to his mom while removing his overcoat."Look at the news." She points at the TV and sighs to herself."Someone murdered a lady in such a cunning way." Dean's gaze was drawn to the headlines."First, it looked like a car accident, then later, the family wanted to know the real reason for her death. With a lot of investigation, finally found out that it was a murder disguised as an accident." His mother explained while throwing a few curses at the criminal."People are forgetting humanity. Why didn't the parents teach their children to respect people's choices and let go when things don't work out their way? Killing someone for revenge is just awful."Dean looks at the anchor's reporting while his brain returns to Dr. Jennifer's words. His donor died because of an accident too."Dee!" Mrs. Rayden shook her son, who was spacing out. "Yeah, mom. It's awful." Dean mumbles, confusing his mom."Are you ok?""Yeah, I'm fine. I'll freshen up." She nods, watching her son approach his room with a frown on his face."What happened to him?"⋇⋆✦⋆⋇Dean is sitting in his room and scrolling through a search engine. His eyes flickered through the list of information. His eyes were trying to get more information. He sips warm milk and leans back while reading the content that is reflected on his spectacles too. Although he looked calm from the outside, his blood was running cold and his eyes were wavering while forcing in the different news of the year 2019. especially on December 19th. There were numerous cases in other regions on that day.He starts taking notes on different accidents and the date. daytime and nighttime too."Fu*k, I didn't know we have so many accidents regularly." Dean's back starts hurting from sitting so long. He sighs, pressing his fingers on his burning eyelids, and blinks with a yawn."I should call Doctor Jennifer." Dean picks up his phone. "Maybe I am overthinking. As such, nothing happened. Why would someone ki--No, no. Of course not. She is a kind soul.""Hello, doctor. It's Dean." Dean spoke while sitting on his bed. He looks at the sky through the window.[Hello, how are you doing? I wanted to know about your health too; next time, make sure to get your file.]"Ok, doctor. I will ask my physician first and let you know. I'm doing fine."[That's good. Anything new to ask?]"I wanted to know how the accident occurred." There was a pause on the other end.Her vehicle collided with a fuel truck. Her shoulder was crushed as the truck hit sideways. The airbag didn't open at the right time. Her car flew and crashed on the other end of the road.]"O-oh," Dean couldn't think of anything to say."My condolence." These two words felt so small to him.[Its-Its alright. Time healed us.] Dean nodded, looking at his feet."Did you guys meet after that? I mean you and another friend."[No. We were both shocked, and she just flew back to her workplace. I emerged to heal you. It was like none of us were able to accept the truth.] Dean heard a sad chuckle. He pressed his lips to a thin line. His eyes fell on the monitor."Uhm, are you sure that it was an accident? I mean, do you know if ma'am has any enemies?" He asked carefully while standing from the bed.[No, she is too sweet. If she had enemies. They won't have the heart to hurt her. So, in my consciousness, there is none. Also, the investigators' postmortem report explained that it was just an accident.]"Was the driver arrested? Can you tell me the name of the case? I'm sure it would have been on all the news channels."[The driver was arrested. However, he got bail a couple of months later. We thought to ask the Supreme Court. But Amelia's husband was like, these things will never bring my wife back. It's like he just gave up on everything.]"You didn't do anything about it?"[Yeah, at that moment, I agreed with him. I lost my friend, and she will never return to us. The driver did seek forgiveness from us.]"Did he say how it all happened?"[He was driving fast while looking at the signal, which was counting down the last few seconds to change, and he couldn't press break at the last moment as Amelia started driving as soon as it changed to green.]"So, the accident occurred at the signal post?"[Yeah, it did.]"Ok, doc. I won't disturb you more."[No worries. Can I ask you a question?]"Sure, doc."[Why are you so curious about this? I mean, I never met any patients who were curious about their donors. They will express their appreciation.]"I have nothing to do in life. That's why I took this up-to learn about a kind soul."[Alright, got it. Take care.]"You too."⋇⋆✦⋆⋇"You are a big inspiration to me. I look up to you. I have watched many of your interviews and understand the struggle to become so popular. The path was obviously not easy for you." A young lady couldn't stop herself from ranting. Her idol is sitting in front of her, and believing is very difficult for her."This is for you." A contract slides over the wooden table toward a hunched lady looking at the papers with curious eyes."Maam?" The girl picks up the paper from the table. "How?" The lady smiles, looking at the paper in her hand."I'll put it straight; you need to step back from the position, and in return, you can work with this company." Red-tinted lips let out a laugh while brown eyes watched the scapegoat."Sure, sure. Why not," The lady takes the pen, which is kept on the table, and quickly signs her name."Here, mam." She returns the paper. "Thank you for the opportunity."Another lady waves her hand. "You may remember that we never met." Watching the confused gaze of the young lady. "You know, being popular has its own cons. If people know I visited this place to meet you then some haters will attack you." The popular model gave a smile."You are so kind. Ok, I will remember it. thanks again." The aspiring model walked away with a happy smile."One second." Her attention was drawn to the cold voice of the lady still sitting in the chair."One more task," The young lady aspiring to become a model looks at the popular model with a curious look."What should I do?"⋇⋆✦⋆⋇"Ok, class. Your homework is in the math workbook from pages 56 to 58, alright?" Dean said while showing the pages."Read the number names from 50 to 70."Dean points at the board where he has written them one after another."Ok, teacher." By saying this, the class went back to chatting with their friends.Dean shook his head and sat on his chair. He was correcting yesterday's homework and calling out the children's names, pointing at the error, and helping them to write it properly."Dean." Daniel opens the door wide, like his smile."What happened?" Dean stood up."Look who is on banners!" Daniel exclaims, walking in with wriggling eyebrows. The said man didn't look at the phone, but rather at the wall clock.Dean looks at Daniel, blinking at his casual look. "We shouldn't use phones," Dean said, pointing the clock and back at the kids, where some are looking at the duo with curiosity."Shut up; don't ruin my happiness with regulations." Daniel shows his phone. "Look at the picture of a man posing with perfume." Daniel again wriggles his eyebrows, expecting some reaction. However, Dean sat in his chair with a hum."C'mon, don't be so cold.""These are temporary. Someday everything will be gone for good.""What do you mean?""It's not like I'll have this face forever." Dean fixes his gaze on his colleague."Someday, someone else will be in the same place as me. So, no need to jump around for something like this." Dean went back to his work.Daniel sighs. "Now, I'm really curious." Dean looks at him with confusion. "What happened in the past that you have these types of thoughts now?" Daniel further added, which forced Dean to look down and mumble, "It's nothing.""It's not nothing. I believe something significant has occurred for you to be having such thoughts right now. You can share it with me. I am your friend, right?" Dean made no response.Daniel heaves a sigh. "Sometimes, we should look back to stay grounded. But don't live in the past. You've got to let it go. Whatever happens in one's life serves a purpose. Those days make you stronger. But that doesn't mean you should ignore your current joys and dwell on your mistakes." Daniel turns around to leave. He was truly happy for his friend.Dean looked at him and smiled softly as he whispered. "Show me the picture.""Oh, brat!" Daniel hits Dean's head. "You gave me a heartache, you know. You better buy a meal for me." Dean laughs and says, "Alright, inform me of the date and time.""Look, how handsome you are looking." Daniel shows his phone, zooming in on the banner picture."From where did you get this?" Dean asked, looking at his image from the previous shoot."My friend got this pic. I told him, if he sees any new perfume banners anywhere, let me know." Daniel explains with a wide smile."Oh god." Dean hid his face in his students' homework and shook his head."No need to be so shy. Get used to it now. My friend is going to be famous soon."Dean smiles with his bright ears and looks at Daniel. "You are my best friend, not just a friend. I never had an amazing friend like you. Thank you; I'm very happy that I'm your friend."Daniel scratched his ear and mumbled, "Now, I'm feeling shy." Dean chuckled.⋇⋆✦⋆⋇Roman looks at the closed gate of the school and back at his wristwatch. "Ok, just five more minutes." He mumbles, looking around, and widens his eyes, realizing something."I need to buy new clothes for Ayan and Christmas decor with cake." Roman quickly fished his phone from his pocket and searched for Ayan's clothes online.A white car stops in front of the school, a little far from Roman, who had narrowed eyes and was trying to understand kids' fashion. The school gate opens, and students rush out. Roman keeps his phone inside his pocket and looks at the gate, waiting for his son. He would rather ask his son about his wishes than break his head.Pink-painted nails close the door as a white heel steps on the ground."Papa!" Ayan shouts, running towards his father, which is reflected on the black aviators of the lady."Baby, you should walk carefully," Roman says, looking at the bandage ripped from his knee. "I told you not to rip it." Roman said, and Ayan pouted, "I felt scratching, and this happened." Roman picks up his son."Ayan?" Roman stopped walking, and Ayan glanced over his dad's shoulder."Aunty!" Ayan exclaims, which made the Roman turn around and look at the woman smiling at them."Hi, Roman." The lady smiles, walking towards the duo."Hello," Roman mumbles, holding his son properly."How are you?" Ruffling Ayan's hair, she inquired as to who was complaining about his hair."I'm doing fine, Freya. How about you?""I feel happy now. Since I saw Ayan. Actually, I missed Ayan, so I thought to meet him. I hope it's not a bother." Freya explains while Roman nods."Oh, no--" Roman's phone starts ringing. "Excuse me," Roman says as he walks away from Freya."Hello, Neil.""What! How could she back off? Did you talk about the contract?""If she didn't sign, then why did she come for the audition? Let her go; we will find someone else." Roman ends the call and sighs. Ayan looks at his father's distressed face."Papa, everything will be ok," Ayan said, the same thing that Roman says whenever he is scared of exams.Roman smiles at his son and nods. "I know, baby. If you are there, everything will be good.""Uh, sorry. I heard your conversation." Freya spoke, looking down as though guilty. Roman pressed his lips; there is a clear reason why someone says to excuse them. Roman can't be rude to someone who he met for the first time, and on top of that, she is his wife's best friend."It alright. Just a few minor issues that will be resolved soon.""Let me know if I can help.""Yeah, sure."
