This is the world where elders live, they are magicians, but more powerful on the universal scale of things, there you can get both knowledge and power, births are so low, only 1% of the population give birth to a new child every 10 years, all due to their immense power, science is not so advanced here, cause people like magic way more than anything else, the lifestyle is more akin to a medieval one, with nobles and castles, but more magic and even knights are to know some extra destructive spells, newborns are precious, and their power is not calculated till the age of 5, where they start their studies.

Guilds are the main force here, and a kingdom's might is calculated by its guilds' powers, thus they control the kingdom's army, save for the royal army, their business is to assign missions in favor of the kingdom to which they belong, and they have an upper limit to the number of members, thus they are picky, and have a high status in the community, as not everybody can work in a guild.

The royal families all tend to have their own guilds and power them to better hold more power and remain in control, nobles tend to invest in their own individual strength and have no right to directly own a guild, only the king does.
