CHAPTER 223:ESCAPE ROUTE.

The day Mrs Wechuli visited Mr Mukhongo, she didn't find him at home. She tried calling him but he was not picking the calls. She had seated in her car for thirty minutes waiting for him, but there was no sign of him. All that time Mr Mukhongo was in his house watching her as she called him. The house window were tinted so Mrs Wechuli had no idea that he was in the house, watching her.

She decided to arbort the mission on that day and wait for him in the company. So the next day Mr Mukhongo come with planed lies on what he will tell Mrs Wechuli if she asked him about his where about on the previous day.

So around afternoon,Mrs Wechuli decided to visit Mr Mukhongo in his office. The CEO's office and the chairman's office were on the different floors.

So she knocked on the door professionally and entered when she heard the permission from him. Mr Mukhongo was surprised to see her but pretended to be happy with a fake smile and a chuckle.

"Hey Madam boss good morning," he greeted.

"Good morning too chairman,how is the work do far?" She asked as she pulled the chair and made himself comfortable. After role she owns the entire company so she can do what she pleases in the office she enters.

"The work is fine, no problem or any challenges so far," Mr Mukhongo said as he arranged the files on the table.

"Yesterday I had visited you in your he but you were not there. I tried calling you but you never picked my calls, where were you?" Mrs Wechuli asked.

"I was in the middle of something important that's why I didn't pick up your call. I am sorry I forgot to return your call," Mr Mukhongo said as he avoided her eye contact because he was lying. He was busy rearranging the files on the table.

"Really? In the middle of something important? Were you enjeculating inside some whore or what. Because that's the only thing to a man that can make him ignore everything around," she said then smiled.

"Are you serious? You think I am cheating on you or what? I was... I was in a meeting with some investors. They were asking about these company and you are accusing me of being with the whore?" Mr Mukhongo asked.

"Woow, in a meeting with investors? Tell them I don't need them. They have waited that my company is picking up that's why they have started to look for us,I don't need them!" She hollered.

"Really do you think that the company will continue doing well without investors? I thought that you were established business woman. But According to what you have just said right now I am starting to question your capabilities," Mr Mukhongo replied.

"I don't care what you think, after all you I have send my son to Nigeria to study acting. So when he returns I know he is going to bring this company to world map," Mrs Wechuli boasted.

"That's why he left my niece alone here in the country, I.....

"I don't care about that woman, I got what I wanted. By the way, I would like to have those legal papers of the company," she said. "That's the reason why I had visited you yesterday, I want to be the one to keep them. Who knows you might betray me, because this company used to belong to your brother," She said.

"When did you lose your trust in me? You know that I love you, I left my wife because of you. I had betrayed my brother because of you, Carol! What made you think that I will betray you?" He asked as he looked straight in her eyes.

"All those that you have mentioned were dear to you, they were your blood. Even your wife because she gave you a daughter, but you ended up betraying them. What will make you not betray me,huh?" She asked seriously.

"Carol, I ...I don't know what to tell you, but just know that the legal papers are safe with me. What if your son finds out what you did? What will he think of you?" He asked.

"Dont drag my son here,For my son he will understand that I did that for him. The thing is I want those papers or else I will take the gun you used to kill your wife to the police station," she said.

"Are you threatening me? You have forgotten that I have the legal papers that shows that Ivana is the legal inheritor and owner if this Company. If you do that I will give the legal papers to the court. So we will all rot in jail, what about that?" Mr Mukhongo threatened her too.

"I was a fool to trust you with those papers, but just know that I will still find an escape route. You will rot in jail alone, I am Thee CAROL WECHULI," she said by stressing her name in the end.

They looked at each other with disgust, she then stood up and left the office. Immediately she closed the door, Mr Mukhongo ruffled his hair. He stood up with his hands akimbo and sighed experatedly.

'I am truly doomed, if she founds out that I rely don't have those papers then I will be the one rotting in jail alone. How did those papers got lost, I don't remember even showing them to my daughter,' he thought as he stood at the window gazing outside.

Mrs Wechuli walked back to her office hurriedly, she was very angry at herself. She was not believing that she believed and trusted Me Mukhongo with something confidential like those papers.

She sighed when she entered her office, 'Catol you are a fool, do you really have an escape route or you are just treatening him. What if he is the one who will find an escape route through corruption? I will be the one behind bars with my sweet ass!' she thought.
