CHAPTER 209:ALIKA APARTMENT.
Early in the morning Charo took the girls to work first then come back for Mish and Ivana. Mish had asked the permission from to the head of department. She was given the permission but was expected to report to work at exactly 1 o'clock in the afternoon.
"I guess you are done right?" Ivana asked after Mish walked to where she was seated.
"Yes you know I am not coming back here, like I have to report to work at one o'clock in the afternoon," Mish said.
She sat at the couch beside her waiting for Charo to return, so that he can drive them to their destination.
"Do you have a specific place or side of the town that you want to live?" Mish asked.
"There is a new apartment on the east of the town,I confirmed yesterday online and I guess they are pretty good," Ivana replied.
"So you want to check them out first right?" Mish asked.
"I think that's the place I am going to rent, I mean it has good security and it's well built and designed."
"Don't decide on something you have not inspected Ivana, let's go and see those houses." Mish said as she helped Ivana to stand up from the couch.
They walked slowly to the car,Charo have just returned from taking the girls to work.
"I think Ivana you should sit here in front so that you can give the direction," Mish suggested.
"No need for me to sit there, I guess Charo knows where the Alika apartment is," She replied.
"The Alika apartment,the new apartment in town I guess?" Charo asked.
"Yes,please drive us there."
They sat in the car and Charo took them there. It was a twenty five minute drive from Ivana's mansion. When they arrived, they realized that the apartment have several house that people have started to rent out. The land lord was available so he toured them in the houses that Ivana would like to rent.
Charo wanted to ask Ivana why she was renting an apartment but decided not to because he didn't want to be told that he was crossing the line. Ivana looked a three bedroom house that was on the ground floor. So they discussed the house rent that she was supposed to pay then paid the landlord four months in advance.
At that particular time Ivana started to call the carpenters that used to sold them furnitures that were in the mansion.
With thirty minutes her new rented house was fun illed with new furnitures and everything she needed. What remained was the wardrobe and the fridge to be filled with the necessary groceries and fruits. She told Charo to bring her some ripe mangoes the next day when he will be taking the girls to work in the morning.
That's when it dawned on Charo that Ivana have rented an apartment for herself. The question he was left with un answered was why?
'Why is he renting an apartment when she have the biggest mansion in town? I guess she has alot of money that's the problem.' he thought while he helped other men to arrange the furniture in the house. He then connected the TV and the hoover and when everything was in place. Ivana locked the door, that's house she moved to Alika apartment, without telling anyone the reason why she did that.
"I guess Mish this will be my home for time being." She said as she sat on the couch comfortably.
"It's a nice place I must say, I like the place already," Mish commented.
"Charo you will take me to the mall then take Mish to the company. One of this fine days, I should start driving myself now." Ivana said like someone who is bored.
Charo was surprised that he turned to look at her and decided to ask, "Why ma'am, have I done something to upset you?"
"No, Charo, the thing is I am overworking you and I don't want to employ another driver yet I know how to drive." Ivana answered.
"But ma'am I have not complained so just let me do my work," he said then chuckled nervously.
"It's okay but I will be giving you leave so that I can drive myself. Sometimes I just feel like I am burdening you,do you know that I dislike ordering people around." She said.
Charo looked at her through the front Mirror then smiled. He didn't have anything to comment there, he knows that Ivana likes to treat her workers well and that was one thing he was blessed with. Having a boss like her.
They arrived at the mall and Ivana got out of the car and waved bye to Mish then walked inside the mall to her shop.
When she arrived at the shop the girls were so busy to notice her. So she didn't want to disturb them with her greetings. She walked slowly and sat at her chair. This time she bought a newspaper to keep her busy.
On the way to the company,Charo decided to engage Mish to a conversation.
"Ma'am Mish I don't mean to mendle in other things but why did ma'am Ivana rent the apartment? I thought that now she is pregnant and almost giving birth, she should be surrounded with man people incase she needs help?"
"There is no need to be worried Charo I will be with her. She said that she needed a place where she can access her shop efficiently." Mish answered.
"If you are going to stay there then who is supposed to take care of the mansion?"
"Charo I think you are directing your questions to a wrong person. You could have asked Ivana okay!"
"I am sorry Ma'am Mish I did mean...."
"You better be." Mish said.
She arrived at the company and alighted then said ,"Don't pick me at evening I will take a taxi home." She then walked to the office.
It was a new implemented rule that, when you asks for a permission to run your own errands. The time used should be covered either by working overtime or weekends. So Mish decided that she will work overtime than weekends.
