CHAPTER 136:ALREADY SIGNED
The following day Ivana received a call from her lawyer, to go and pick the required documents. But on that day she had another appointment with doctor Masika for her prenatal testing and also to pick the vitamin supplements.
So she informed the lawyer to schedule their meeting in the afternoon. This time she asked Milka to accompany her to the hospital since she was not hiding anything from her. Also it was her last week to close the first trimester and incase of anything Milka will be there for her.
When they arrived at the hospital, the doctor was already expecting her so they both entered the office.
"Good morning doctor? Ivana greeted as she sat down, she didn't wait for the doctor to tell her.
"Good morning too" Doctor Masika answered politely.
"Doctor, this is my Friend Milka, she has offered to be together with me in these journey" she introduced Milka.
"Good morning doctor?" Milka greeted.
"I must be envious for you, you have a good friend indeed." The doctor chuckled softly." Now come and lie here, I don't want us to waste each other's time. Let me do some check on you.
The doctor told Ivana to lie on the bed and pull up her blouse to expose her belly. She did as instructed. The doctor applied a cold gel on her belly and said,"This will be abit cold so bare with me" Ivana smiled as the doctor applied the gel on her belly.
The doctor placed a CVS device where he had applied the gel then listened carefully to the heartbeat of the baby. Although it was still faint, but it showed that the baby was healthy and growing.
"The baby is fine but the heartbeat is still faint but it's not something to worry about" the doctor said after removing the device from her belly.
He gave her the next date for her prenatal testing visit, after Ivana had come down from the bed.
"So when I see you again I will be in my second trimester,I am so excited"she giggled happily like a baby.
The doctor handed her the required vitamins supplement and told her on how to take them on a daily basis. Ivana handed them to Milka after picking them from the doctor.
"Thank you doctor and see you on next month" she said as they left the office.
"Your doctor is polite and he seems to be kind too" Milka said as they walked to the car."
"You think so? It's because she was among the doctors who were attending to my dad when he was in the coma"
They reached the car and Ivana's driver Charo came down to open the car door for both of them. They mouthed a thank you at the same time to Charo after sitting in the car.
"Drive us to Naliaka Plaza, there is something I want to pick there" Ivana said.
"Yes ma'am" Charo said politely.
From the hospital to Naliaka Plaza it is a twenty minutes drive but since it was not a busy morning and there was no traffic jam, only a few cars and public transport was on the road. Charo used only ten minutes to drive them to Naliaka Plaza.
"You stay in the car," she told Milka when they arrived.she alighted from the car then walked into the plaza. She used the lift to reach the third floor, she was too tired to use the stairs because of her pregnancy.
"Miss Ivana how are you?
"I am fine"
"As I told you yesterday through a call, I presented the divorce papers to him yesterday and I am surprised on that the same day, the papers were already signed." The lawyer Mansa Sakwa said as he handed her the envelope.
Ivana picked the envelope with a surprised look on her face. As much as she wanted that divorce, she thought that it will be hard for Paul to sign those papers quickly. Judging from the press conference released, Ivana knew that Paul's family had something to do with Luhyahood dream company.
"Are you sure Paul signed the divorce papers?"
"You can check them yourself" the lawyer said with a firm look on his face.
When Ivana left for to the office she was wearing a happy face, actually she was smiling. But when she returned from the office she was gloomy something that surprised both Charo her driver and Milka her maid.
"Ma'am Ivana now days she is generous, yesterday I enjoyed those sweet fresh mangos fruits from the orchard." Charo said.
"Ma'am Ivana is always kind and generous. We are really lucky to....here she comes she looks gloomy"Milka said when she spotted her walking towards the car.
As normal, Charo came down to open the car door for her.
"Drive back home Charo" she said upon entering the car then closed her eyes as she leaned back and relaxed.
Milka was scared to ask her what was bothering her. She seemed like she was not in a good mood, so Milka opted to look at the beautiful sceneries through the window as they drove back home.
Suddenly Ivana remembered that she had promised Milka a new mobile phone so she told Charo.
"Charo when you spot a sumsang mobile phone shop outside kindly let me know"
"Yes ma'am, there is one in front of us just a two minutes drive"
Milka smiled and wanted to thank Ivana but when she turned to look at her, She was leaning back on the seat with her eyes closed.
The driver pulled over at the Sumsang phone shop. Ivana tapped Milka and they all got out of the car.
"Choose the phone of you love, Ivana told Milka when they arrived at the shop.
"I don't know what to chose ma'am every phone looks good and perfect to my eyes." She said politely.
Ivana looked at her with an eye of don't call me ma'am which she understood quickly, before the sellers approached them.
