CHAPTER 101:TOTALLY DIFFERENT.

*SOMEWHERE IN ELDORET*

John was pacing up and down for almost thirty minutes now. He had tried convincing her to no avail. He wanted to be there for her sister atleast for once. He wanted to introduce himself to her, there was no perfect time of doing that. Everytime talks about Ivana he have been told to wait until perfect time.

"Kindly, will you please let me go, l want to tell her. I don't care if she believes me or not, I am ready for her reactions" he pleaded but got no reply.

Alot have happened since the day he went in the cemetery to visit him. His dad that he never met,the man that the only memories he have is his pictures and the video of his memorial mass that he had a chance to record. Unfortunately he was not lucky to find her. If only he was five minutes earlier, he  would have met her. 

For the first time he would have seen her face. He didn't know really what happened to them. Since no one was ready to tell him what transpired between his parents.

Now that him- John is living in anguished poverty, while her own sister is enjoying the luxury. He had seen her only on Television during their fathers memorial mass. That's when he confirmed the picture that his mother had in old album. Although the picture that he had was the one when Ivana was abit young but her facial features were similar. Her perfect smile.

"I think it's a high time we introduce ourselves to her Mum. We can't continue living like this, l am tired of sleeping angry"

"So your aim is sharing what she have been left with and not protecting her?"

"You just don't understand,l want to protect her and also to get what is mine"

"John, are you listening to yourself, do you think your sister is a fool? You think she will even listen to you, look at yourself and look at her right now. You are totally different!" She said.

"How am l different mum, tell me! We come from the same womb. Same father and same mother unless there is something you don't want to tell me" John groused.

" You come from different world John, your sister doesn't know that you exist. She doesn't even know me. So just forget it, let her live her life as you live yours"

"Mum, do you even know what is going on in her life? She was forced to get married to someone she doesn't love, After dad dad died someone snatched away the legacy dad left for her to carry on! Now her cousin has rejected her, Now tell me who is going to help her if not us? For how long are we going to hide ourselves from her mum!" John hollowed.

"Don't forget you are talking to me, l will cut if that bass. Tell me who is feeding you with all of this information?"

"I have my own trusted source mum. Tell me what really transpired between you and dad?"

"I am not ready for this conversation young man, you better dress up we are leaving for the field l don't want our payment bring slashed because of reporting late to work" 

'For how long will you continue keeping the secret from me? For how long will watch your daughter suffer like that?'  John though while dressing up in apron ready for work.

"I have really missed this place, especially the swing, room." Mish said after getting out of the car. She spread her arms and moved around breathing in fresh air. "Atleast their is no noise pollution her, l can't wait to listen to sweet melodies from birds tomorrow morning" she said to no one in particular. She went her dad the hugged him then said. "Thank you so much dad"

"Anything for you my princess, besides this is our home l think l was the one who prolonged the stay in the mansion. I thought living near the town was quite pleasant but it turned out l was wrong"

"I know you missed this place more than l did"

"Hahaa you are right, we will have to carry our luggage to the house. Our maids and workers are not here yet" Mr Mukhongo said.

"Have you called them? I mean informing them that we are back?"

"Yes l did but some of them said that they are working for other homesteads, only two are coming back" he said.

"Two?,just increase their pay, they will come running back to us"

Mr Mukhongo was not happy with her suggestion of increasing the salary. He didn't have enough money to do that, he was slowly going bankrupt. Now that the company is not yet back to its feet. He had no other sources of cash.

Back in the mansion Ivana was the one paying the workers and the maid for them. Their work was to lazy around and demand what they wanted to be done for them.

He was not ready to tell her that he doesn't have much money to increase the pay. He frowned as he tried thinking for the perfect reply to her suggestion.

"We dont need many maids or workers besides, we are only two of us and soon you are going to upcountry. I will be alone until you come back, two are enough princess" he said.

"And Mish, l think you are old enough to prepare food, for you and your dad. Today and tomorrow l will be cooking for you guys. Be prepared to cook when you come back then the maids will be responsible for laundry and cleaning the house and the compound" Her Aunt Lydia chipped in.

Mish had that look of 'me cooking, l can't cook, unless you want me to burn the whole house's as he looked at his dad. She didn't know how to refute or reply on what her aunt had suggested.

"Don't worry princess l will figure out when you return from upcountry. If it will be necessary we will hire other three maids"

"I think you should hire them as early as now don't ...."

"Hey Mish let's carry this to the house" Lydia cut her off. She didn't understand why they need maids while Mish is available.
