CHAPTER 100 LEAVING THE MANSION

Mish and his father, had a sleepless night. Mr Mukhongo was not able to sleep despite talking a full bottle of white wine, the memory of that night kept haunting him. He remembers the look on her face when he pulled the trigger. 

He didn't want to experience living there and being haunted with the Bad memories. He agreed with his daughter's suggestion of going back to their bungalow.

On the other hand Mish was unable to sleep as her own words kept ringing in her mind. "It's a haunted mansion...." How can she continue living in that mansion when it was haunted. She didn't want Ivana to use her words against her. That's why she needed to go back to the bungalow. Many things have happened in that mansion,it was time to go back home.

The only person that slept well was her Aunt Lydia. It was the first time she was spending a night in that mansion.

During breakfast, they were all present on the table joined by Lydia. The maids have already prepared breakfast for them. They arranged the table and left for the kitchen to let them enjoy. Lydia broke the silence, it's an usual for her to have breakfast while quite.

"Mish l had you asking about the cremains? Can you take it to upcountry? You can go with me" she said.

Mish had a smile on her face as she looked at Mr Mukhongo for approval.

"It's okay with me baby, you can take it to upcountry if you are comfortable with doing that. But neither today not tomorrow?" He answered her unvoiced question.

"But l am leaving today or probably tomorrow morning" Lydia said apologetically.

"I want us to go back to bungalow Mish, l have thought about it and l think it will be right if we go back"

"Yes dad, l am happy to hear that. Aunt will you please spend more two days with us?. Then we will leave the day after tomorrow for upcountry, please" Mish pleaded.

"It's okay stop paunting your mouth like that. You haven't changed Mish, you are always behaving the way you behaved when you were a toddler"

"How do you know Aunt Lydia?"

"I took care of you, l was your nanny!"

"Really? Woow thank you so much aunt"

"Mish, Lidya you need to hurry up and pack up. We are leaving now l don't think we are spending another night here" he insisted.

After Paul whole dressed up, " hubby l just received some news?"

"Mmh" he hummed softly as he fixes his bowtie.

"Mish have decided to leave the mansion!"

"Is she the one who have texted you?" he asked sitting near her in the bed.

"No, my maid texted me, she was asking me they can continue living their. Although some of the workers have left."

"What did you tell her?, Don't you think something should be done before they continue living there?"

"Something like?" Ivana asked anxiously

"I think cleansing ceremony should be done. Don't get me wrong wifey, what l am saying is that, some traditions need to be performed"

Ivana looked at her husband then smiled. How can he tell her the exact thing she was contemplating on doing. She didn't want the mansion to turn to haunted house as Mish had said. Now that Mish and her father has decided to go back to their home. It will be perfect if cleasing ceremony is done to the mansion.

"Yes hubby you are right, that's the similar thing, l was thinking this morning l just didn't know how?. I don't know much about customs and traditions."

"Don't worry l will help you, l know you were raised as a cool kid in a modern society"

"And l regret it because, somethings l find myself doing them that go against our traditions and customs."

After breakfast waved goodbye to her husband and returned in the house. She was left alone in the house, her mother inlaw left very in the morning. She said that she was going to meet some investors who are willing to invest in her company.

Now that Paul have promised to help her out with the cleasing ceremony she had nothing to worry about. 

She called her personal maid back in the mansion and told her that she was free to continue living their. Now that other workers have left in search for other homestead to work in. She was responsible for cleaning the swimming pool, cleaning the compound, taking care of the garden and she can plant her own food.

Ivana had promised to give her upkeep money because she will be taking care of her mansion. Milka was so happy because she had no where to go. She was an orphan, who was living in the orphanage until her teenage. That's when she decided to move out of the orphanage and take care of herself.

The first home she knocked to was Ivana's home. Although at that time Ivana had enough maids and workers. Mr Bombwe was turning her request down but Ivana pleaded with her dad to take her in. Since she was five years older that Ivana at that time. 

Mr Bombwe assigned her to be the personal maid to her only daughter Ivana.  When Ivana was forced into marrying Paul, Milka thought that her working contract is over. Not until Ivana told her to take care of her garden and her room.

Although Ivana and Milka are not that close, but Ivana is not the kind to take advantage of person because of the situation she was in. Besides if Mish and her father have gone back to their house. That means they will not be leaving in the mansion again. That's one of the reason Ivana told Milka to stay around take care of it until she figures out what she will do with it.

'I don't if Paul will agree to this, if it's possible we will go and live in the mansion' she thought as she covered herself with a shwal.
