AFTER CERES DIED II

When the three snipers came, Xhylan was drinking already. His eyes were red and swollen, and his dark eyebags made him look like a panda. He looked at the three men who sat next to him and he smiled faintly.

One of the snipers just took a glass of his own and poured the hard liquor into his glass until it was half-full. He slowly took a sip without even putting ice in it to mellow down the taste. His face crunched but he kept drinking.

Sniper 1: "Tell me! Tell me why didn't he allow us to hold a funeral for her? Even if Ceres wanted to live, the day she accomplished her task, she was still one of us."

Xhylan spaced out upon hearing this question and analyzed the man's words.

Sniper 2: "I didn't expect that even after all those successful assignments she had, after proving her loyalty, our leader wouldn't even allow us to send her off decently."
