62 Awakening

The transformation in Lucka's fire blanket surprised him, and he was becoming frightened because he was now alone with him. He had no clue whether the changes would be harmful to Luckas.

- "Hey, Luckas! Is everything okay?" Byrth attempted to communicate with him but got no answer.

Luckas was in a dreamlike state, unable to control his body even though he was conscious. Luckas could hear a distant voice calling to him, but the noises in his head muffled it out.

Luckas tried to look around him, but all he saw was a yellow radiance surrounding him. He gave up after a few more attempts to communicate and merely submerged himself in the yellow lights. As he bathed in the yellow glow, Luckas felt warm, calm, and safe.

Byrth frowned and kept calling for Luckas, wanting to awaken him from his unresponsive state. -" Hey Luckas! We're all alone here, please wake up." Byrth became extremely worried when Luckas did not respond.

An old man approached Byrth as he was attempting to wake Luckas; Byrth only noticed the man after he was a few meters away from them. -" Who are you? This is a Strafhampton army camp! "Introduce yourself right away!" Byrth was already nervous, and when he saw the unexpected man, he began to sweat profusely.

-" For the time being, young man, he is unable to respond to your calls." The man approached Byrth with an unbothered gaze, looking around curiously. " He is hearing you, but he will be unable to communicate with the outside world while undergoing Elementaryization."

Byrth was still on high alert because he didn't trust the man, however, learning about Lucka's state awakened his interest. -" Elementaryization? What is your name? "I've already informed you to introduce yourself!"

The man approached Byrth slowly and calmly, and as he got closer, he began to engage in conversation with the air around him. -" Please, Sod, stop talking nonsense; how can he be a reincarnated Elemental? Look, he's got a physical body." The man came to a halt in front of Luckas and stared into the air as if he was attentively listening to a conversation. -" How can someone have such an elemental affinity? After the Elementaryization, I was barely an elemental sprite."

Byrth's suspicion gradually turned to awkwardness as the man completely ignored him and continued talking alone. Byrth was perplexed by the man; he wore a tarnished robe made of a plant-like material, was walking barefoot, and, most importantly, he smelled awful. Byrth even though the man was a crazy bum who got lost in the forest and found this place after wandering for months without a shower.

-" Saline is correct. Why are the three of you still Elemental Sprites if becoming a Greater Elemental was so simple? Even I had difficulty crossing the realm to the Lesser Elemental Realm; Can you imagine how difficult it would be to cross to the Greater Elemental Realm? "

Byrth listened to the man with interest, but everything that the man said went over his head, so he mustered the courage to interrupt him. -" Hey, what's your name? Do you know what is happening to Luckas?" Byrth was nervous because he wasn't sure how the man would react to his interruption.

-" You previously stated that this was a Strafhamton army camp, correct?" Byrth immediately nodded in response to the man's question. -"Where has everyone gone? Who was in charge of this camp?"

Byrth was irritated because the man kept asking him questions despite the fact that he had yet to introduce himself; however, Byrth decided to respond to the man. -" Sir Jeffrey is in charge of this camp, and the soldiers here are involved in a nearby operation." Byrth kept many things hidden because he didn't know the man's background.

-" Little Jeffrey is the leader? He must have matured a lot since the last time I saw him, otherwise, Stanley would never let him lead an entire camp."

Byrth was uneasy as he took another look at the man's face, recalling the exchange he and Luckas had with Bryson. Because of all the dirt and grime on his body, he couldn't notice the similarities at first, but after a closer examination, he was certain he was Jefffrey's grandfather.

-" G-G-G-Gretting to Sir Maven." As Byrth recognized who the man was, he began to stutter. He would never have guessed that this old beggar was the father of the current duke if he hadn't remembered Bryson's remarks.

Byrth was nervous since he had been disrespectful towards him. He wasn't sure how the man would respond; after all, Byrth was well aware of Maven's reputation for being slightly insane.

-" Do you recognize me? That surprised me; I didn't expect someone as young as you to know who I was." Maven was embarrassed when Byrth recognized him, and he smiled shyly as he continued. " There is no need for formalities, you can just call me Maven."

Byrth was relieved to learn that Maven didn't mind how he had been treated previously. - " I'm Sir Jeffrey Squire, my name is Byrth, and the man unconsciousness is called Luckas." Byrth instantly introduced himself as well as Luckas to the renowned old man.

Maven nodded in response to Byrth's introduction before returning his attention to Luckas. -" Does this young man also work for Jeffrey?" Maven was surprised to learn that, in addition to himself, somebody else related to his household was undergoing Elementaryization.

-" Yes, I and he were recruited by Jeffrey and Philips not so long ago. Do you know what is happening to him?" Byrth nervously inquired, assuming Maven to be knowledgeable about Lucka's current condition.

-" Oh, what a coincidence. Your friend is going through a process called Elementaryization, which will turn him into a hybrid between a human and an elemental being." Maven's eyes glowed with curiosity as he stared down Luckas. "I, too, passed by this process when I was younger, and I never imagined I'd have the opportunity to witness it as a bystander."

As Maven stood there watching Luckas, changes began to appear on the young man's flame blanket. The leftover Qi from the explosion began to flow towards the blanket, -" Hey guys, his condensation is going to end. This could be a beneficial experience for the three of you, especially for you Gayle."

Byrth's mood was shaken as he witnessed the flame blanket being absorbed by Lucka's body. Byrth's eyes were filled with apprehension as he watched the process with concern.
