61 Supernovae

The battle between Brent and Elias appeared to have come to a halt, but Brent grinned as he endured the last few solar flares. Only the thick blood mist remained to protect him after his entire body was burned to a crisp and his mighty wings were destroyed.

Brent was confident in his endurance, and he was fairly certain that Elias was not faring much better. The Mark of Aurelion wasn't something he could use without consequences. Aside from draining practically all of Elias' energy, the mark took every last bit of his remaining energy to control it so it didn't go beserk and consume him.

Elias face was pale as his spell ended, the sun begind him had become completely still as if all of its energy had been emptied. Elias gazed towards the blood mist who was gathering ever closer to Brent's body.

A crocked chuckle rippled through the surrounds as the blood mist condensed into a sphere and proceeded to absorb the Qi around it. Brent had the ability to make two blood embryos in every realm, and while using both of them here wasn't ideal, it was his best alternative.

- "This is a really powerful spell. Isn't it unfortunate that it's so taxing? " Brent began taunting Elias when he finished laughing. "Is it even possible for you to fight any longer? It's finally time for me to take charge." Brent's grin widened as the blood mist gathered entirely around him, forming the blood embryo. "Please wait a few seconds, and try not to disappoint me too much." Brent had conserved the most of his QI since his blood embryo would heal his wounds but not replenish his energy, which was the one disadvantage of this spell.

Elias' eyes was weary as he glanced towards the blood embryo, nevertheless he gazed at Madeline with a calm aura about him. Sadness flashed across his face. - "You placed your life on the line in this conflict, and I will comend you for it." Brent was taken aback by Elias' voice; he expected Elias to be more desperate right now, but Elias proceeded before he could add anything. "So I'll add mine as well. This was an exciting fight."

Elias closed his eyes and started making runes with his two hands. His thoughts came and went rapidly. He had suspicions that the Strafhamptons had previously predicted their motive for coming here, and that the Heigong were not only interested in the treasure, but were also prepared to conspire against the Eternal Sun Sect.

This, in Elias' opinion, was the only reason the Heigong would be willing to put that much on the table. But he was still perplexed; he was certain that the Eternal Sun Sect was the first to find his treasure, and even they weren't sure what exactly was down there. Elias was puzzled as to what drove Brent to be so determined to obtain this treasure that he used both of his embryo forms in this conflict, which would be quite the handcap in the future.

Everyone on the ground froze once again as the tense atmosphere of Elias and Brent's duel made them realize that the next collision would be decisive. This time, Bryson was the one to retreat; he wasn't sure if Elias would win, and staying here to confront Brent afterwards would be a death wish.

-" Retreat, we need to find Philips now!" As Bryson ordered, Alan and the soldier started to backdown.

Madelina clenched her fists as she glanced at Elias, frustration filling her eyes as she began to back down as well. She knew Elias' condition wasn't good; after all, she was the one most familiar with the Mark of Aurelion among those watching.

-" Elder Elias.... I hope that you can survive." Tears filled Madeline's eyes as she started to run together with the soldiers.

Casper took a deep breath and ran towards his sect comrades as he saw the enemies flee. This mission had gotten out of hand and they couldn't remain; their safety was now his first priority.

Casper approached them and lifted them with his aura; but, as he began to fly away, he detected an impending strike from his right. The sudden strike surprised him, and he nearly couldn't respond, merely raising his blades to block it.

Casper clenched his teeth as he received the full impact of the spell, but he didn't stop running; the sudden onslaught just reaffirmed his belief that fleeing now was the best option. Casper looked in the direction of the attack and noticed another large group approaching; enraged, he imprited their faces in his memories and retrieved his companions.

Casper and Bryson began to escape just as Jeffrey and his party arrived in the area. When Jeffrey saw such an excellent opportunity to eliminate another Heigong cultivator, he immediately activated his talisman and attacked. He was about to use the talisman again when Cyl intervened.

-" We came at the wrong time." Cyl's face was dark as he pointed at the sky, the bood sphere in the sky kept absorving vast quantities of Qi, on the other side, Elias was still calmly performing his seals.

Noah's face flushed as he realized Elias was displaying the Mark of Aurelion; he hurriedly examined the area but only found Madeline. Noah ran towards her, his eyes filled with worry. – "Madeline! What happened to everyone? What's going on?" The situation appeared to be more serious than Noah had anticipated.

Madeline was relieved to see a familiar face at this time, but before she could respond to his questions, the Qi in the area began to shudder as the sun behind Elias began to collapse. Everyone began to flee as soon as they observed the sun collapsing; no one wanted to be near it since they couldn't fathom the strength of this magic.

As he finished the spell, Elias gave a faint smile, with a gentle voice, yet loud voice he finished conjuring his spell. - "Supernovae." The sun behind him swirled, as if waiting for Elias' command, and began to collapse even more quickly.

When Brent witnessed Elias nonchalantly perform the spell, his eyes widened in surprise. – "Do you want to sacrifice yourself, old fool? We'll gamble on which sacred spell will be victorious. " Brent tried to sound confident, but his shaky voice betrayed that he was terrified of the oncoming spell.

Brent screamed angrily as he witnessed the sun completely collapsing and then exploding. He could only sit and watch as the terrifying explosion swallowed him because he was still in his blood embryo form.

The Elias spell generated a far larger effect than the fire pillar; whereas the first event was seen in nearby territories, Elias explosion was visible throughout the Iqecia Kingdom.

Magnus winced as he observed the explosion and increased his speed, his eyes filled with worry. – "Elias wouldn't use Supernovae for something frivolous. Something serious is occurring. " Magnus' heart raced as he realized Elias' odds of surviving after performing this technique were nearly none.

Magnus had a perplexed expression on his face, He had the impression that he had just sent Elias on a suicide mission. He had never expected the Heigong to send such a large force to the Strafhampton territory.

When Pihlips came to see him, he had the idea of taking advantage of the Strafhampton family's weakened position to obtain the treasure; but, if he hadn't reached Mathias in time, he would have lost two Immortal Soul Elders, one of which had an Aurelion Mark on them.

The Eternal Sun Sect had a limit on how many marks it could hand out, especially now that the Sun Disk's strength was waning. Apart from the one Elias had, they only had three marks.

Philips, on the other side of the forest, was anxiously watching the explosion, and he could sense Elias' aura on it. With his eyes full of mixed emotions, Philips stared down at Luckas and Byrth, who were just beneath him.

He wanted to stay here to protect Luckas and Byrth, but he was concerned about his old friend and his nephew. After a few seconds of battling his emotions, Philips let out a sigh.

He inspected the area once again before casting a barrier spell in the area where the two youths were. While he knew the barrier wouldn't provide much protection against someone in the Rebirth Stage or above, it was better than nothing. Philips surveyed his surroundings one more before moving to the explosion.

The explosion's energy spread in all directions, and when it reached Luckas and Byrth, strange changes began to appear on Luckas' flame blanket. The flames, which were originally red, began to turn a murky yellow tone.

Byrth eventually stopped cultivating as more energy reached them, only to witness the massive explosion on the horizon. He fixed his gaze on the explosion. It felt familiar to him for some reason. He shook his head and began searching for Philips, but couldn't locate him, so he proceeded to check on Luckas, only to realize that his fire blanket was now bright yellow.
