My Brother Pulled Me Into Another World

Takeda Ryuji is a single 35-year-old workaholic manager of a Japanese conglomerate. Both brothers were otakus, Takehiko loved magic and elven stuff while Ryuji loved transmigration, rebirth and Isekai type of stories. Sadly, his brother passed away due to liver cancer which left Ryuji devastated. He cherished the hobby that he and his brother loved, to honor his brother's memory. On the sixth anniversary of his brother’s death, he was called by his boss to cover for another manager to finish an important project for the companyof their office even though it was his day off. He finished his work not until late at night. Ryuji finished his day by drinking beer to drown in sorrow and grief as he remembered the day his brother died like it happened barely hours ago. However, next thing he knew waking up was finding himself in a white room with two cosplayers. “A scholar and a warrior out of nowhere? Am I really dead?” Ryuji knew that his world view will be shattered forever. “Your heart went into an overdrive.” The warrior spoke in a straight face. That was the day that Takeda Ryuji died of heart attack and woke up in the Divine Realm’s reception area. ****************************** After his rebirth as the black-haired elf of prophecy, the elf child named Takeda Takehiko was praying in front of a pair of statues. “Mama Sefie-sama, can you bring my brother here when he dies?” The black-haired elven child looked at the Goddess of forest with twinkling eyes. “Hubby, do what our adopted child says!!!” The woman watching from their TV, turned to his husband wearing a dashing black suit with floral necktie. “I am on it.” Hades subtly smiled. He immediately called using his smartphone. “Yubis, send over Takeda Ryuji here.” “What?” The jackal god asked. “My adopted son wants to.” Hades replied “You know we can’t do that!” The jackal god retorted “Would you like your sis-in-law do it instead?” Hades countered “Oh! I am on it! In fact, Bishamonten said he will arrive in five minutes! I will be busy in accepting him, tell that to sis-in-law! Bye!!” The jackal god Yubis replied with delay. He was scared witless by the angry Goddess of Harvest. “Wifey!!! He will be over within five minutes!” Hades smiled “Hubby you are the best!” Sefie hugged his overbearing CEO god. ****************************** Brotherly reunion in another world, god migration, scandalous heavens, world building and a multitude of migrant souls. This is my first novel as an amateur writer. Suggestions are accepted. This was meant to be a light fantasy novel for a regular corporate worker like me. *edited the synopsis of MC's death.

Planning for the Future as a Group

"Oh, let us eat something for breakfast." Ryuji said as he gave a signal to Pyun-Pyun to bring out leftovers from last night. It's decent but it was not fulfilling. He needs to hunt again as this is the last of their meat supply. Only thing left was the wolves that died the other night. It might be vexing for the wolves to eat their own kind and he wanted to avoid that uncomfortable situation.

They quickly build a campfire for cooking using <Ignite>.

"Today we need to hunt for more food." Ryuji casually said as he was about to bite on the meat. They need to hunt for more food.

"Yes master." Both the wolf brothers answered.

"But master will you join us to hunt?" Fuji asked. He and his brother could hunt and bring food especially he has a new power that he can use.

"Yes. I know what you are thinking but, I don't think it can help us hunt especially if you haven't mastered magic. That control does not happen overnight" Ryuji pointed out. He is essentially the oldest person in the group and as a senior, not to mention the master of these three, he should be able to point out things.

"Fuji, you would need to control your magic. The first time you did it with the slimes, you obliterated them." Ryuji explained. "What I would like you to do during the hunt, you should utilize a small amount of magic to shock the prey or that could lop off their heads. Do you understand?"

"I will try, master." Fuji bowed as if he was scolded. Their master is right. It does not mean that he has magic, it can be used. He needs to find a way to get the bodies or else they would eat dirt instead.

"Also, if you can learn from your brother with hunting and then apply how you can use magic." Ryuji said as he picked up another meat.

Raiji was listening to Ryuji's instructions attentively. He did think last night about what they had discussed. Now he does see why his master said that don't rely on magic because with hunting for food. You don't need magic, while his master has useful magic, his brother's magic from yesterday might not be useful with the hunt. He now starts to see why magic is not the only measurement.

"Raiji, I told you last night that you would be the vanguard, yes?" Ryuji probed. He was confirming if his pep talk with the older wolf brother has some effect.

"Yes master!" Raiji answered eagerly.

"Few things that I will ask of you… First, during our hunt, I would like you to give orders if you see an advantage." Ryuji said.

"Even you?" Raiji tilted his face, confused with what the goblin had just said.

"Yes, even me." Ryuji calmly answered.

"Why master? I don't think I can do that." Raiji got scared and confused with his master's answer. He would not dare to order his master around. He is the familiar and the goblin is the master.

"It is simple. Wolves hunt in packs, right?" Ryuji explained with a question of confirmation.

"Yes." Raiji answered but his confusion on the topic is plastered all over his face. Fuji was also listening to their master as he carefully savors the rationed meat that they have.

"I did notice when I met you two, you are coordinating with the other wolves despite that you are not a leader." Ryuji commented. He indeed noticed that. Instead of following the leader's instructions, they moved with suggestions. However, it broke down due to other factors like emotions of another pair of sibling wolves. But removing those factors, it is a pretty formidable team. Ryuji wishes to accomplish something like that.

"Yes, we were trained that way. But I would not dare to order you around master." Raiji answered. The South Onorian wolves is a large group of wolves, which has roughly about five hundred wolves. To resolve this, they have established sub-packs under the main pack and created a second alpha position for each sub pack for them to lead. It has been that way since he could remember, and the main alphas are selected among these sub alphas from these sub packs.

"Don't mind the orders… " Ryuji got flustered. He was trying to put in his logic. Maybe he should rephrase his statement. "Ok let me put it this way. Treat Pyun-Pyun and me as if we are wolves when we are hunting." Ryuji explained it again. It is better if he would get some insight coming from another point. He is not omniscient. It would be helpful for him when hunting that he gets some input coming from another person, in this case, Raiji. This should also be a training for the older wolf brother in the long run.

"But you are not a wolf." Raiji rebuked the statement then gobbled another piece of meat in the process.

"Yes, I know, what I am trying to say is…. Right now, we should consider ourselves as a group or in your terms, a pack." Ryuji explained. He is a bit annoyed, but his patience is longer than this. It has been quite a while since he died but he had been familiar with this situation in his previous life. Newbies in a group are trained generally in a company. However, once those newbies go to their respective departments, they would need to adjust how their unit works. Every group has a certain dynamic to work harmoniously as a group. But since they are all quite new, he needs to explain the idea and the reason behind why he is doing such action. "It would be beneficial to us if we act as one. Me, you, Fuji and Pyun-Pyun. When we hunt, we would need to move as a group and coordinate our attacks. That is why, if you see an advantage for us to attack, tell us. That is what we call teamwork."

"Uh Brother, what master is saying, treat them like a wolf in a pack." Fuji was getting slightly embarrassed for his brother since he understands why their master asked this request. They should be practicing as a group. He understood why because the last time when they faced the slimes, he and his brother looked like mere bystanders even if he did learn magic.

"Ah, I understand now master." Raiji replied after his brother's statement. But he is the master, why should a trivial matter like hunting would the master ask to give him orders. Would it be better if their master asked them to hunt then bring their kills to him instead? This is quite bothering him, he asked again. "But why would you want to be treated as one?"

"At first, we may look sloppy like when we faced the slimes last night but the further, we understand how each of us moves, the better we function as a team. We will need to start working on those parts. If you are not comfortable giving orders to me, think of it as a suggestion." Ryuji explained. It has been a challenge to explain this which gave him a bit of an annoyance. His concept is simple, but it seems that it is quite different to each species on how they view this which needs to be broken down. Of course, it does not help that Raiji is quite a brawny type of person. But it is easier to speak with him right now since he is open to ideas that Ryuji might give since he gave him hope that there are other ways other than magic to become powerful.

"What is a suggestion?" This time Fuji was the one asked.

"A suggestion is something that you tell another person like myself, but it is up to me whether I will follow you or not." Ryuji answered patiently. These are talking wolves, but he should not expect that social concepts like suggestions are being taught to them by older wolves or whatever it may be. So, he needed to be patient with them. While they may ask some basic questions, it does help that they are quite faster when picking up ideas.

"Yes master! I will remember these words." Raiji smiled. This was his first step of being useful as a familiar of their master. He needed to learn new things and that can help him be a useful familiar by his master's side.

Ryuji was satisfied with Raiji's answer so he continued speaking. "Ok moving on, the second thing I would like to say is at the end of the day, we will discuss what happened to our hunt. It's more of a recap."

"What is a recap?" Raiji asked. Even fuji gave a confused look to their goblin master.

"It is telling people what happened to put it simply you report what happened. Although, not only me, but it can also be with your brother or Pyun-Pyun. It is similar to what we are doing right now." Ryuji explained as he had another bite of the rabivore meat. "It is to share ideas and it allows us to point out any mistakes that we made and what things that we can use effectively during our hunts."
