Chapter One Hundred and Ninety Seven
Sarah POV
What started like a happy day is now ending with a heartache, how did things turn to this? I continued to question myself. I arrived home after George walked me back home cause we can't continue with the date because of the issue with the lady. I arrived home and walked straight to my room without announcing my return cause I don't want them to notice my mood cause they will be worried especially my mother. I was in my room replaying the conversation George had with that Lisa lady, the more I replay it the more I find some loopholes in her story.
For example George claimed that he always uses protection and he is not drunk which means that he knows what he is saying. Secondly she claimed that she have been looking for George but she forgot that George is a famous architect and one of the most wanted bachelor so he is not hard to find, if she is really looking for him. Thirdly she bumping into George doesn't seem accidental to me. Am still mulling over all that when Ella walked in, one look at her you can tell that she is very happy.
Someone look really happy, I commented. Yes my love am so happy, am the happiest woman on earth right now, she replied and twirled herself and sat down on the bed. So tell me what happened? I asked trying to sound cheerful cause I don't want to put a stop to her happiness with my mood. I reconciled with my father, she said smiling widely. What? When did that happened? I asked cause I was not expecting that at all. Well today after I accept to be Max girlfriend, Max persuaded me to see my father, she answered still smiling.
Wait you are Max what? What is happening best friend? I asked her cause I think a lot is happening today only. Well I decided to give Max a chance and see how it will work out and my father apologized and promised to be a better father which I can see some changes already, She said. I smiled faintly, that's good to hear and I know you will not regret accepting to date Max cause that guy adores you and will go the extra mile for you, I told her to which she blushed. Guess what, Ella said to me.
What? You know that am not good with this guessing game, I told her. You are not fun at all, Ella whined to which I just laughed it off. Well my father ask me to come with you next time that am coming, so that he can apologized to you properly, Ella said. That's not possible Jerry Williams want to apologize to me, is this real or Ella is just pulling my leg. It's real Sarah, Ella assured me. Anyway enough of me what's going on with you, you look so down and don't you dare tell me it's nothing cause I know you too well, Ella said.
I guess I don't have any other choice cause I know she will not accept any lie I will tell her. I told her everything that happened today, she listened attentively without interrupting me, when am done with my explanation she told me what's her take on the whole issue. Sarah I think that George is right to suspect that lady to be fraud, I will advice that you give him time to look into this and trust him don't jump into conclusion yet, Ella advised. I thank her for her wonderful advice and prepare for bed with a light mind.
