Chapter Eighty-Nine

Sarah POV

I was surprised to see Max in my boss office but what surprised me the most is the tie my boss wore,I can't believe that he wore it I thought by now he would have thrashed it. I felt like jumping up but I held myself cause I have audience and I don't want them to think that am crazy.

I couldn't comment on the tie because of Max presence,Max told me that he will come to my office. I already have an idea why he want to see me, I said okay to it cause I also wanted to tell him what my best friend reply is,so that he will know his next step. I waited for him throughout the day but he did not show up I guess the reason why he want to see me is not important to him.

The next day I was in my office sorting some files when someone knocked on the door,I asked the person to come in expecting to see Rose but the person turned out to be Max. I was surprised to see him cause I have concluded that the issue is not important to him. Hey Sarah good morning he greeted,Good morning Max how are you doing? I greeted back. Am good and you? He asked am great I responded.

Mmm....mm Sarah am sorry for yesterday I was not able to meet with you,that because your boss and I went somewhere yesterday and were not able to come back on time He explained. That's okay Max you are here now that's what matters,initially I thought is because you don't have interest again that's why you did not show up and am sorry for been judgemental I apologized.

There is no need for you to apologize Sarah,anyway our discussion last time how did it go Max asked. I really hate to be the bearer of bad news that's why I don't know how to bring myself and tell Max that Ella turned him down,seemed like Max noticed my hesitation so he assured me that whatever the reply is that he will be fine.

Actually Max she turned your proposal down I managed to tell Max,Max smiled trying to show me that he is not angry but I can clearly see the sadness in his eyes. What did she told you that is the reason she turned me down. I don't know how you will take it but I have to be clean with you Max I told him,sure bring it on you never can tell maybe what you will tell me now might help me Max said.

She said you are a Playboy I told him,okay he replied. Is that all you have to say? I mumbled, well she is saying the truth but am willing to change Max muttered to himself but I heard him clearly. I placed my hand on top of his as a sign of encouragement, then you have to show her that you are willing to change I said to him, at that moment my office door opened. Standing there is my boss with no expression on his face looking at our hands,when I noticed where he is staring at I withdrew my hand immediately.
