A Beautiful Sunrise

The Last Stop Town had an amazing sunrise. With its geographical positioning side wide from Seoul, it had taken all the natural beauty and adorned it with its simple town.

Unfortunately, I couldn't enjoy this scenery immediately but my friend had a chance to do so after facing an unwanted situation.

When the sun was a few minutes from rising, V was still driving. Having been in the car for nearly seven hours, my friend asked him: "How long will it take us to get there?" She looked exhausted from the car ride.

"About an hour", he replied. Yet, as she couldn't take it anymore, she told him the truth.

"I'm already feeling carsick", she said. V looked at her and saw how pale she was looking. Her reaction was like that of someone about to throw up.

Using his discretion, he asked: "Should we make a stop over?"

"Why?" My friend stubbornly asked despite her condition.

"You said you are feeling car sick", he reminded her. However, she brushed his statement aside by saying: "Don't pay attention to me and just drive."

Still, not feeling good about this, V told her: "But you don't look well."

"I will be fine", she stubbornly insisted.

V was feeling uncomfortable and decided to do what he felt like doing without asking for her permission this time round. He pulled over and turned off the car's engine.

"Why did you stop the car?" My stubborn friend asked with difficulty in her speech.

Unbuckling his seatbelt, he replied: "You might be fine but I'm not fine."

He stepped out of the hatchback and opened her door. After helping her unbuckle her seatbelt, he said: "I feel uncomfortable seeing others in discomfort. That's my weakness. Let's step out for a while."

He then took her by the hand and gently helped her out of the car. That's when the beauty hit them. It wasn't the first sunrise for both of them, but it was the prettiest sunrise they had seen. Standing on the sidewalk of the road, they watched the semi dark world of theirs slowly glow as the true colors of the creation around them resurrected in a gradual process.

As the sun rose, it sparked a fire from beneath, warming the land on which they stood. And with divine royalty, it illuminated the field which they faced, starting from the tail to the head of it. This magnificent sight revealed the colorful flowers enstooled in the land and the sun's heat exported the wonderful fragrance they bore into the airy wind. When mixed together, they produced an amazing smell which was better than the finest of perfumes. Seeing their environment lighten up, the birds of the sky happily danced below the white crystal clouds surrounded by a blue large ocean of vast vapor.

Walking through the field, Ra Ra's fingers continuously brushed over the flowers of the field, each finger being tingled by the smooth and silky petals. In the midst of the flowers, Virel spotted the most beautiful flower he had ever seen. And as this flower turned around and lightened up with a warm smile, Virel couldn't help but also smile at this wonderful sight. It was extremely pretty.

After inhaling some fresh air blowing down her skin, Ra Ra returned to V (Virel) and admitted the truth.

"I must say, it feels good", she said and added, "The weather here is great. Totally better than Seoul's. Is it because there are more trees here?" She asked V who smiled to the greatness of the scenery and its freshness.

Just then, Ra Ra's phone started ringing.

"A minute", she told V and picked up the call. "Hello! Poppy, what is it? Your sister? She's with me", she lied to my younger sister.

"What? You want to speak to her? She's asleep at the moment", she topped up the lies and was soon going to receive her punishment.

"An assignment? Alright, send it to me. I will give it to her", she said and hung up.

Though he had not said a word, my bestie began to feel uncomfortable around V after giving off three consecutive lies without sweat. And soon, she found herself giving an unnecessary explanation.

"That was… Amy's sister. She wanted to know if her sister was with me. I lied because I didn't want her to get worried. She's in her final year and needs to concentrate on her studies. That's why", she explained.

"I didn't ask a thing", he replied.

"That's right. Why am I giving you a lengthy explanation?" She muttered to herself. The situation was surely an embarrassing one.

Ra Ra after that embarrassing moment went to sit on a rock in the field. She awaited Poppy's message as she sat there and then it arrived.

"It's in", she said with a perfectly sculptured face. Nevertheless, after examining the question, beads of sweat ambushed her face whilst fear and embarrassment replaced her makeover. She was now looking like an old lifeless corpse.

Her reason for the change was finally revealed when she asked herself: "Since when did high schoolers start solving such difficult Maths problems?"

V, who stood at a distance looked to his left and saw her in despair. He walked over to her and asked: "Is there a problem?"

"No, just enjoying the fresh air", she lied as in her mind, she reasoned that she couldn't tell him at all costs.

"I can't tell him about this. I definitely shouldn't. But how would I solve this? Right, I can search online", she told herself. At least she had a plan but as to whether this would work, time was about to tell.

Since they were at the part of the countryside with little to no residence, Ra Ra did not get things smoothly as she would have in Seoul.

Raising her phone high in the sky, she kept moving in circles. V watched her and could tell that she wanted to receive a signal. "Why is the internet connection so bad?" She asked herself.

And as time elapsed without her submitting the answer, Poppy texted her back. If I was with her, then that question would have been a done deal. But Ra Ra was just not good in Maths.

With Poppy putting pressure on her, she was confused. "What do I do now? Amy would have definitely solved this", she admitted. Then, turning to her right, she looked at the only card she had left. "Should I ask him for help?" She wondered. Yet, as she was out of options, Ra Ra killed her pride and went to Virel.

"Umm… V, I…"

"Do you want us to leave? Alright, let's go", he totally misunderstood her. But before his long legs could move any further, Ra Ra grabbed hold of his arm and said to him: "Hold on, the thing is…"

Ra Ra slowly revealed everything, and afterwards the two sat on the rock she spotted earlier as Virel solved the equation with so much ease. In no time, he was done.

Impressed by his intelligence, Ra Ra asked: "Where did you learn that?"

"At school", he gave a humiliating answer. "Of course, why did I ask such a lame question?" Ra Ra muttered to herself.

But as she thought that she had just added to the earlier embarrassment, Virel told her: "It's not your fault that you couldn't solve it. This is a question in Mathematics."

"I know that", she agreed. Nevertheless, he added: "Maths studied by engineering students."

"What?" She looked confused by the just made statement.

An explanation was required and V continued by saying: "I mean this question is meant for engineering students. So it is not your fault that you couldn't solve it."

That was the best stress reliever she had received in years. His answer made her feel important and not necessarily dumb.

"Ah, I see. Wait, are you an engineer?" His reply prompted her question.

"Computer Engineering Student", he replied.

"Wow, that's cool. Does that explain how you were able to locate me?" She asked.

"I did a bit of hacking. That's how I got your information", he confessed.

Her pretty smile disappeared as her eyebrows shot up. "Did you hack into my...?"

"All done. Send it to her", V said as he tried to change the topic of discussion.

"Wait, you…" she was out of words and V looked at her with such sweet and pitiful eyes that guaranteed definite forgiveness.

Falling for his cuteness, Ra Ra did what she normally refuses to do.

"I will let you off the hook this once. Never do that… again", she said without any serious intent.

V smiled and said out of the blue: "You're pretty".

A spark of fire ascended through Ra Ra's body and in a split second, she was quite nervous.

"Are you trying to hit on me?" She asked whilst blinking her eyes continuously.

"I mean it. Not all forgive so easily. You have a kind heart… and that makes you pretty. Very pretty", he said with emphasis whilst stamping it with an honest smile.

Ra Ra refused to smile back but inwards, she was feeling quite excited.

In his room, Jang Sik was also feeling quite excited and anxious. He was experiencing a mixed feeling as he dressed up. His beautiful wife woke up and was surprised to see him dressed up.

"Where are you going this early morning?" She asked him.

"Nowhere special. I'm just hurrying up to check on Amy and Jin Ho", he replied, sounding excited.

"Are you worried that something might have happened?" His wife asked.

In his checkered shirt and black pants, he walked over to his wife and whispered in her ears the words: "I wish for that a lot."

Right then, their two kids woke up. Last night, they displayed good character but on a new day, they could turn from bad to worse.

However, on this occasion, after they had woken up, the first thing they said was: "Good morning mom and dad."

"Honey", Jang Sik's wife called him. She covered her mouth with her palms as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Honey, did our kids just greet us in the morning?" She asked with the tears flowing freely. She turned to look at her husband, only to see him with more tears being produced.

The kids looked at their parents and were confused as to whom to comfort. Therefore, they separated as each one drew near the one he was closest to.

Together, they fell onto the bed and all four got into a cheerful, playful mood.

INSIDE STORY

Two men were in a car and the one driving stepped on the accelerator. The other man seated next to him began shouting whilst telling the driver: "Slow down, you have passed the driving test!"

"Is that so?" The driver asked and turned around to look at the driving tutor who sat beside him. He then told the tutor: "Alright, I will stop the car then."

With that being said, he turned the car about without any change in speed and drove all the way to the driving school. Finally, the car came to a halt and the driver stepped out. Once the sun caught his face, it revealed that this driver was none other than V.
