6 Left for Dead

"I do not have a divination, I was unlucky enough to not receive one," Max confessed, hoping that the royal family would understand his situation and allow him to leave the castle, he just wanted to find a job and live a normal life.

"WHAT?!" the king exclaimed, getting up from his throne, "how can someone from another world not receive a divination? This has never happened before!"

He was furious, after all, in this world, power is everything, and not having a divination while being reincarnated means you are destined to fail, as without one, you cannot fight against the forces of evil.

The otherworlders were the strongest thing a kingdom could acquire, so every single one of them was an important piece of the giant puzzle needed to defeat the demon king and the celestial beasts.

"DREYER!" the king roared, "HOW DARE YOU BRING DEFECTIVE GOODS TO THIS HIGHLY PRAISED KINGDOM?"

"M-my liege, I did not know that such trash had entangled itself with the other divination users, I-I will take care of it in the quickest of times!" the head mage begged for forgiveness and gave Max a stare filled with hatred.

Max didn't expect such a reaction, but he could already guess that his original plan of living a normal life in this world was quickly crumbling before his eyes.

"TAKE THAT TRASH OUT OF MY SIGHT, AND MAKE SURE HE DOESN'T CAUSE ANY MORE TROUBLE," the king ordered, and Dreyer immediately clapped his hands together, making a dozen of the guards present in the room grab him from all directions.

"WAIT A MINUTE, HE IS STILL OUR CLASSMATE" David, who was the embodiment of perfection and usefulness for the kingdom, tried to argue the judgment using the small amount of power he had right now, but it was futile.

"I also do not agree with such a decision" Lucie and Alicia, who had gotten an S rank divination, continued, but nothing they did was resonating with the king, his greed for power was getting to his head, and all he needed was powerful people he could use for his own benefits, not slackers taking their resources.

Once they left the throne room, the head mage pushed Max into the hallway and started shouting at him, "YOU USELESS PIECE OF SHIT! HOW DARE YOU WASTE THE KING'S TIME LIKE THAT? YOU ARE WORSE THAN GARBAGE!"

Max didn't respond, he just accepted the beating that was coming his way.

"You should've died instead of coming here, you will never be able to survive in this world without a divination, you are worthless!"

Dreyer then pulled a magic staff from his coat and hit the ground with it, making a green circle appear around Max, who was confused as to what was happening.

"Are you sure you want to do that, did you even bother to check my status window?" Max looked Dreyer dead in the eyes, and aura started forming around him, barely noticeable, but it was there.

"Quit bluffing, the gods and divinations have clearly stated only divination users can access a [status window], meaning you are not one of them"

Max's eyes widened as he realized that maybe he actually had an ace up his sleeve he didn't know of, his brain was turning at 120% trying to understand what could be the reason for that, and that's when he remembered the chains that were placed on his divination and unique ability.

"Wait, I think I might have something-" he tried to explain the situation and that he could possibly be useful to the kingdom, but he was cut off by the white-haired elder as he was sick of his excuses.

"I will send you somewhere where I'm sure you will not be able to come back from, see you never, you no divination failure," the head mage tapped the ground with his staff again, and suddenly, the green circle glowed, and before Max could comprehend or say anything, he disappeared.

Using his video game knowledge, he could guess that he was being sent somewhere else using a "teleportation circle", but this was the only thing he could think of as his mind drifted apart.

And just like that, Max Evans was teleported to the middle of nowhere, in the outskirts of a forest, far away from civilization, with nothing but the clothes on his body to help him survive and no way to know in which direction he should go to exit this place.

As he opened his eyes after the teleportation spell finished, he couldn't do anything but grit his teeth in humiliation and anger.

[Host has entered a dangerous area: "Flavip Forest", it is advised to immediately leave.]

"Fuck you dude," he sighed and got up, if he knew of a way to leave, he would have already been running towards it, well at least this did confirm that his 'system' was there to help him though.

Now he needed to survive this desperate situation in an unknown world filled with monsters beyond his comprehension, and with no power to assist him, well...

'Do I really have no divination?' he wondered, that was the big question in his mind, 'but then why didn't it show on the orb?'

In the end, he just shook his head in disbelief and walked in a random direction, hoping it was the safest one he could take to go back to civilization.

"You fuckers..." he fumed, "If I ever get back from this shitty place alive, I'll make you all regret ever being alive..."

Whether it was his classmates, except the ones that actively tried to help him, or all the royal family and the kingdom, he was gonna make sure that they regretted leaving him for dead.

And with that final thought, Max Evans started walking, hoping to find a way out of the forest.

But little did he know, that the worst was yet to come.

Meanwhile, in the throne room right after Max left.

"Well then," the king sat back on his throne and smiled, "now that the weakling is gone, let us discuss the future plans for our heroes!"

He looked at the remaining thirty students, who were still standing there unsure of what to do.

They were happy they weren't on the receiving end of that treatment, but they were sure that at the end of the day, they wouldn't be given anything of the sort as in opposition to the "weakling", they had divinations to aid them, no matter how weak they were.

"You will all be trained in the course of an entire year by our most powerful and known fighters, and once your training is finished, you will be advised to attend two years in the Luciana Academy, the most prestigious one in the entire world, do not fret though, I have high hopes for you all!" the king exclaimed, and everybody nodded in excitement, they were going to be treated like kings and also become powerful, what better offer was there than that?

And just like that, their new life in this strange world started, but unbeknownst to them all, they hadn't realized just how dark all of this would become, and that the fate of the world was something that couldn't be considered as "fun".
