111 A Talk About the Interrogation

After walking out of the room, Vance headed back towards the throne room. Once he got in, he walked towards John, Lucy, and the girls.

"Yo, how's it going."

The girls were chatting amongst themselves near John and Lucy, while John and Lucy were busy discussing something themselves. Hearing Vance, they all looked up towards him. The girls looked happy to see him again, while John and Lucy looked concerned. As Vance got closer, John began to speak to him.

"How did the interrogation go? Did you get any good information?"

Vance smirked at this question.

"It went well, I got some pretty good information. For instance, they have twenty people that each are equivalent to 10 million soldiers."

Hearing this information shocked John, Lucy, and the girls. Lucy was the first to recover.

"Vance, what do you mean by that."

"Well, that guy claims he and the younger one are two of the twenty generals of rising dragon kingdom. I don't know exactly how truthful the information he gave me was, but he didn't seem to be lying. Maybe I should develop a truth detecting spell. Anyways, he also told me why the Rising Dragon Kingdom, decided to invade you, and honestly, I can't tell if it's a valid reason for an invasion, but then again, I don't know a lot of the common sense here."

Hearing Vance, John and Lucy seemed to be curious. In the end John decided to bite the bullet and ask why.

"Why Vance? Why would they attempt to invade us so randomly?"

"Well it doesn't seem to be random. Apparently they detected some sort of Mana from underneath the castle here. My guess is that was the final push factor, since apparently the Rising Dragon Kingdom's King wanted to acquire some more land anyway. In other words, if it wasn't for the mana they detected, they probably would have invaded you, or someone else, anyway."

Hearing the news about the Mana, John and Lucy had to take a moment to think about the information they had just received. After a brief moment of silence, John looked up and spoke.

"First things first, I believe that the interrogation of your other prisoner is important, just in case they have any new information. We also have to check and see what the source of the Mana is. If we don't know what it is, it could be incredibly dangerous if it's unstable. By checking it, we'll be able to see what steps must be taken."

Vance nodded in agreement at John's decisions. He then spoke up.

"I guess I'll get back to my interrogation then."

Saying this, he headed back to the dungeon, where he had left his two prisoners trapped in their special cell.
