Interrogating the Old Man

Seeing the old man quickly agree with him, Vance chuckled and spoke.

"Seems you're smarter than the other one. So, to start this off, I recall that the other one said something about you too being higher ups of Rising Dragon Kingdom. Care to clarify what exactly that means?"

Hearing Vance's first question, the old man opened his mouth to respond.

"Him and I are two of the twenty generals of the Rising Dragon Kingdom."

Vance whistled.

"Twenty? I can't tell if that's too few or too many. So what kind of generals, the commanding officer type, or the "we're the strongest" type?"

The old man paused to think for a brief moment and spoke.

"A mix of both. Some of the generals have superb commanding abilities. Some don't. But all of us have strong combat abilities."

Vance nodded, seemingly in thought.

"Okay, that's pretty good to know. Hmm... what was the original goal behind attacking Fatewalker Kingdom?"

The old man hesitated for a brief moment. Vance, seeing this, generated lightning from his hands and stared at him. The old man quickly seemed to make a decision. He then began to speak.

"Well there were a couple reasons why. The king wanting to expand his kingdom. His greed for this kingdoms wealth. His desire to be superior. Hmm. Well there are some other factors that he let the generals know. Apparently a large amount of mana was detected to be under the castle. It's possibly some sort of mana crystal vein, or some other type of magic materials that can be worth a fortune."

"Ah yes, greed. A driving force, but one that can lead to a person's demise. Well I wouldn't mind checking out this mana source. I guess I'll do that later. For now, I have some more questions. What exactly is the combat power of the rising Dragon Kingdom?"

"We have millions of soldiers on standby at any given moment, and thousands more guarding our territories. And each of the twenty generals is equivalent to a legion of about ten million soldiers. That's if we go all out."

Vance laughed at this.

"Really? Ten million a pop? You guys don't seem that tough though."

The old man seemed to be slightly irritated by this statement.

"We had to protect the portal, any other time you'd be dead. Although I have to say, it is rare to see such a talent in both martial and magic combat. And this cell is quite interesting. It seems to restrain my magic abilities."

"Yeah yeah, it's just more of my gifts. And believe me, if I went entirely all out, at the very least a country could be wiped out. And that's as I am now, never mind my power growth. Feel proud that you even managed to go that long without getting knocked out. Whatever. I'm done with you for now, but I'll be back when the other one wakes up."

Saying this, Vance stood up and walked out of the room.
