121 A Casual Question

Seeing everyone agree with him, Vance clapped his hands and spoke up.

"Well then, now that we've got the general guidelines of this visit out of the way, I guess it's time to get moving."

Hearing Vance say this, Sarah was the first one to speak.

"Are you going to teleport there Van?"

Vance shook his head in response.

"Why would I do that if I have a flying base? It gives me more time to think. Besides, it's not like I hate this kingdom to the point where I need to destroy it immediately. I fully understand the mindset of wanting to expand. It just so happens that they chose the wrong kingdom to use for expansion. If they didn't target the Fatewalker Kingdom, I probably wouldn't do anything."

Sarah responded to this.

"So you're only getting involved because of Hope and Jess?"

"Correct. Keep in mind that I'm not from here. Even in my world there were fights for land. Although that mainly happened way in the past. Actually, speaking of my world, that reminds me. When I was going through that secret base, I had a thought. Do handicapped people exist here? Like are there people that cannot walk for reasons other than combat?"

Alice looked up from her book in order to respond.

"It isn't common, but sometimes there are children that are born with certain curses that makes it difficult for them to walk. But there are priests that are able to use holy magic to cure that. Other than curses I can't think of any other reasons at the moment. Maybe I'll come across different cases in a book."

Vance put his hand to his chin in a thinking manner.

"Interesting. And Holy Magic? I think I can use that."

Saying this, Vance stretched out a hand with the palm facing upwards. As he did this, a warm ball of light formed in his hand. It gave off a warmth that could be felt down to the soul. Everyone in the room had a comfortable look on their face. After a moment, it disappeared.

Hope seemed mildly disappointed.

"Sir Vance, why'd you stop." She said with a pout.

"I was just curious if it was an actual form of magic instead of some sort of divine power. It seems that it is actually magic. But the source is interesting. Guess I'll find out more when I become divine." Vance said with a smirk on his face.

Hearing Vance claim that he would become divine, the girls couldn't help but think about how realistic this statement was. If anyone could become divine, it was certainly Vance.

Remembering that he still had to set the base's course, Vance spoke.

"I'm going to go and set the course for the base. You girls can continue relaxing, and I'll probably join once I'm done."

After saying this, Vance turned around, left the room, and headed towards the navigation room.
