Chapter 3 Plan

 "I can't sleep."

Pietro was lying on the sofa tossing and turning. If it were the old him, he would have continued to wallow in despair. He would have attributed all the bad things that happened to him to fate. But after listening to the information Austin told him, He couldn't calm down.

Turning over, Pietro curled up and said.

"Austin, can you tell me more about those things in the multiverse?"

Austin glanced at him and couldn't help but shake his head. Regarding this world, it can only be said that the more clearly a person sees it, the more desperate he becomes. It is hard to imagine that Pietro suffered such a tragic life experience at a young age.

After pondering for a moment, Austin spoke.

"Let me tell you about one of the major crises the Avengers faced after their formation. The event was known as the 'Age of Ultron.' What I'll share with you is an event from one of the parallel universes, a universe still immersed in the aftermath of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s infiltration and collapse by Hydra."

"After the alien invasion in New York, Hydra agents who had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. secretly took Loki's scepter. At that time, no one knew that the gem embedded in the scepter was one of the six Infinity Stones—the Mind Stone."

"Subsequently, Hydra began numerous human experiments, hoping to comprehend the secrets of the power of the Mind Stone. In the end, only a pair of twins succeeded in the experiments. The names of those twins were Wanda and Pietro, which is you in another universe. However, what Hydra didn't know is that your powers were not granted by the Mind Stone; they were innate, and the Mind Stone merely acted as a catalyst."

Pietro listened quietly and was not surprised when Austin mentioned his name. Obviously, this was not the first time Austin had said these things in front of him, and Pietro also gradually accepted that he was in most parallel universes. Everyone will have an older sister or younger sister named 'Wanda'.

But in this world, there is no relationship between Pietro and the Scarlet Witch who betrayed the Avengers. This person never existed in Pietro's memory.

Austin slowly narrated, from the time Tony started making Ultron because of his own anxiety, to the final battle between the Ultron army and the Avengers.

"To protect the children, Hawkeye had to return to the battlefield. But Ultron wasn't willing to let him go. Ultron piloted a fighter jet directly toward Hawkeye and the child. Bullets poured down like rain, and just when Hawkeye thought he was going to die here, a silver figure rushed in."

"The next moment, Hawkeye felt himself moved by a force, and when he came to his senses, he found himself and the little boy moved behind cover. Outside the cover, Quicksilver's body was riddled with bullets."

"'Didn't you notice?' Quicksilver's tone was still so casual. This was the dying message of Quicksilver from that universe."

After hearing this, the corners of Pietro's lips raised unconsciously. "It definitely sounds like something I would do, and if that was the end of me, it wouldn't be a bad ending."

"Perhaps."

"At least he died a worthy death, like a real hero, instead of someone like me who could die in a trash can in a dark alley at any time, or be captured and taken back to a mutant prison, losing his freedom and everything, I will never see the sun in this life," Pietro murmured.

Looking up at Quicksilver, Austin said. "Get some sleep, I'll get you out of here."

Night fell.

Austin and Pietro drove on the Ring Sea Avenue, their destination being the mutant prison located in Texas. They had to cross New Jersey, then head to Washington, D.C., and finally make their way to Texas.

After escaping from prison, Quicksilver ran all the way to New York, which was almost half of the United States. Originally, he was planning to run all the way out of the country, but due to his superpowers, he almost starved to death on the way.

Austin drove the car while Pietro slept in the trunk. His current identity was too sensitive and he would never be able to escape death if he was discovered. Moreover, he could not use his superpowers casually. Once President X targeted him, Then what awaits the two of them is undoubtedly a disaster.

So the two of them discussed it and they decided to steal a nearby car and some money. If it were another world, Austin would never do this, because this kind of behavior would definitely attract the attention of the police.

However.

In this world, the whole world is on the verge of collapse, and the United States is suffering from external and internal troubles. In this environment, street killings were commonplace, and stealing a car was the least of anyone's concerns except for the owner.

While driving, Austin was constantly thinking about his next plan.

Breaking into President X's secret room to steal something was too dangerous. Quicksilver's fate was evidence of that, and President X's bug-like superpowers were the biggest concern.

Once locked and controlled by him, all plans will come to nothing. Although Magneto in this world did not build a brainwave amplifier for President X, President X's ability is still very strong, let alone dealing with an ordinary person like Austin.

So, a big move was necessary, something to capture President X's attention and keep him occupied. Unfortunately, the Avengers in this world were already wiped out, and besides them, there were no more "heroes" in this world.

Otherwise, with them acting as bait, the success rate of Austin's plan would be much higher.

To pull off something big, the method had to be chosen carefully.

Gang riots were too small.

Border disturbances were still too small.

It should be bigger, shocking, and preferably of a level that could become the trigger for the next world war.

Only then would the elusive President X make an appearance and personally lead the charge. However, achieving this wasn't easy.

In the beginning, Austin focused on the Kree prisoners of war. After those Kree people were baptized by nuclear bombs, they were imprisoned by President X. Thousands of them were imprisoned in the Gobi Desert where nuclear radiation remained.

If someone harbored hatred towards President X and had the ability for revenge, these Kree would be a sharp weapon.

In fact, Austin was quite speechless about what happened to these Kree people. Not just in this universe, but in most universes, nuclear bombs are very destructive creations.

But this extremely dangerous thing is like the earth's exclusive trump card. No matter how advanced the technology is on other planets, even if they have interstellar fleets or laser guns, they cannot build such things as nuclear bombs.

It's like each planet has its own technology tree, and nuclear bombs are the Earth's own skills and have a "unique" nature in the universe.

For example, these Kree, who intended to cleanse the entire Earth civilization, found themselves exposed to Earth's range due to their bodies being affected by nuclear radiation. They couldn't run, hide, or defend against it. They could only watch countless nuclear warheads get closer and closer.

Though releasing these Kree might attract President X's attention, Austin ultimately gave up on the plan. Apart from the fact that these Kree had been contaminated by nuclear radiation for so long that their combat capabilities were questionable, there was also the issue of entering the heavily guarded area without protective suits. Even if they were released, they would likely be suppressed shortly afterward.

This is definitely not what Austin wants to see.

So after discussing with Pietro, Austin set his sights on the mutant prison. In that place, more than a hundred mutants with various abilities lived in constant hardship.

Perhaps, mutant abilities were a form of evolution, but for ordinary people, these mutants were more like time bombs. If these time bombs were released, and they all had the common enemy of President X, it would undoubtedly be enough to give President X a big headache.
