Taking Care of the Gangsters

Once we were ready I asked the police to give more information about the gangs so we could better deal with them.

Laurance said, "There are 3 gangs here. They are called the Steel Hand Brotherhood, the Dancing Scents Guild, and the Yellow Goblins Gang."

"The Steel Hand Brotherhood mostly focused on racketeering and robbery and are in an upfront fight they are the most power."

"Most of them are strong due to them being trained in close combat. They are the most disciplined and have the strongest fighters as a result."

"Their boss Ricklin has some type of weird skill where his body turns back when he is hit with physical trauma or attack full force."

The first thing that I thought was did he have Armament Haki as that sounded pretty similar to how you could use it but thankfully after reviewing the tapes it wasn't that.

It seemed to the nanotech infusion that Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising. It would harden in response to physical trauma, increase his strength, improve his generation and allow him to release stored energy as fire.

It was going to be a pretty hard fight for my forces but he was also weak to sudden or rapid attack so he should be possible to deal with.

Laurance continued, "The next gang the Dancing Scents Guild mostly focuses on narcotics and they use their newly enhanced drug manufacturing capabilities to their fullest."

"They mainly use poison to fight and enhance the strengths of their soldier with powerful stimulants. They also have a small number of potent healing potions that they can use."

"Their boss, Joe, is nothing special. He is just incredibly cunning and capable of getting sensitive information through as of yet unknown means."

Ok, so this wasn't as bad. The poison would probably make close combat pain but the number of guns Wilbur made diminished it.

We still had long-range capabilities other than guns like Donald with his laser vision or Mary with her bugs. But other than that we had other magicians that would help.

"Lastly the Yellow Goblin Gang focused mostly on theft and smuggling. They can easily slip by unnoticed and have done so on many occasions."

"They are the most variable as well in power as some of them are barely better than goons while others are basically invisible."

"Their boss, Valin, has the ability to turn fully invisible and create barriers of telekinetic force to protect him making him the hardest one to kill."

So this one would by far be the easiest so long as we prepared Mary using her bugs and enhancing others' senses would make this a cakewalk.

And their boss Valin seems to have Susan Storm's ability from the Fantastic Four while annoying is still killable. Especially if he doesn't have it to a high level.

With that information put away, I began planning for the raid. First I told everyone in the organization what I had learned.

Then I asked how many of them were willing to participate. I wasn't going to force them to fight that would only lower my image and stop newcomers from joining my organization.

Luckily around 50% were willing to risk their lives to fight the gangs which was much better than I was fearing. And all of my most powerful frontline fighters were willing to join.

Then I decided to make up a chain of command. I would be at the top and Mary would be just below me. She had shown her trustworthiness and skills over the past 2 weeks so I trusted her.

Then came the smaller squad leader. After some thought gave Dustin, Micheal (The Feruchemy Guy), and Donald a squad to lead each. They were eager to fight.

Dustin was loyal and had always dreamed of a situation like this where he could be the main character fighting against evil-doers using magic and superpowers.

He was relatively smart and had a good head on his shoulder. He wasn't the most tactically gifted but he would learn.

Micheal was not loyal but he had a burning hate for the Steel Hand Brotherhood and as a fully grown adult was much more level-headed than most of my other members.

Donald was still a bit shifty and had worked for one of the previous gangs, the Yellow Goblins, but he also had experience fighting against the Dancing Scents Guild. Plus he fear me so that was good.

So the plan was for us to try and take them out 1 by 1 as right now we had 3 teams of around 10 members each and compared to the average gang with around 15~20 people.

We were bigger than any individual gang but not greater than all of them combined. With the cops though it made it about even. Still, no reason to attack them all at once.

While the cops were defending the town we would take out the gangs. The first one on the list was the Yellow Goblin Gang as Donald knew most of their bases and we hard countered them.

The next morning Mary took the sense of a bunch of volunteers and gave them to key members of our organization. We marched out in full force.

The Yellow Goblin Gang was caught off guard. Mary had sent bugs in swarming into their main base and biting and stinging the hell out of the unprepared force.

Since they mostly focused on stealth they didn't have a strong enough vitality to shrug off the consistent attacks and by the time we came in they were mostly defeated.

Except a few hidden behind an invisible barrier that their Boss Valin had made. They looked at our massive force and like the fools they were didn't surrender.

They immediately rushed at us, Valin making a safe bug-free corridor for them to run down. We just had our physical fighters upfront and magic attacker at the back.

With little fanfare, they got beaten up with Dustin doing the most work knocking out 3 of the 5 men with quick Stupefy spells.

Then with Valin still hiding behind the shield Micheal walked up and used a little of his stored strength to shatter the barrier and hit the man hard enough to knock him out.

We then scoured their other bases and quickly rounded all of them up. It wasn't perfect, out of the 18 members we had accidentally killed 3 but we were still inexperienced.

Then not wanting to word to get out we immediately moved on to the Steel Hand Brotherhood as their hideouts were pretty much an open secret.

We assault them with our spell caster and gunner opening fire on their base forcing them to try to chase us. Our first death almost occurred immediately

One of the grunts had summoned a javelin and threw it at one of our members who could create explosions. I rushed there in time and caught it.

After that close miss, I told them to focus. They had been too relaxed after we had taken care of the Yellow Goblins Gang so easily.

Thankfully the battle became much easier once Mary decided to enter the fray covering the men with a horde of insects blinding them but not hurting them much due to their high vitality.

Finally their boss Ricklin came out on fire killing most of the bugs in the area. I saw Micheal smile and I knew he was the man he had a grudge on. I wouldn't want to be him.

Micheal seemed to release as much of his stored energy as he could as quickly as possible in my estimates making his stats around 300 each.

He blasted off the street and in front of Ricklin and hit him with a blow so hard that the people behind Ricklin fell over from the blast of the punch.

Ricklin to his credit wasn't down just yet as along with his nanomachines he seemed to have incredible accelerated healing.

Well, I didn't help much as Micheal just landed on top of him and just beat the crap out of him continuously. When I told him to stop he didn't listen and beat Ricklin till he died.

I sighed that was the problem with building an organization so quickly. I made it incredibly hard to make people loyal and listen to you.

Lastly, we went to the Dancing Scents Guild in high spirits after defeating the last 2 gangs with no casualties. We were immediately punished for it.

Mary didn't notice it but a slow-acting and invisible poison had been released. We had taken too long in dealing with the Steel Hand Brotherhood and the news had spread and they had time to prepare.

We noticed it after 1 of our weaker vitality members dropped dead and soon 3 more followed. Dustin jumped into action throwing one of his specially made potions on the ground.

This was an antidote and it quickly alleviated the worst of our symptoms with him going on to use the Reparifors charm to heal the rest.

When they saw their plans didn't work they rushed out en masse throwing bottles filled with deadly poison in our direction. One of our mages that controlled wind pushed them back in their direction.

They quickly died of their own poisons and after cleaning out most of the survivors including their boss Joe we had officially cleansed the town of its gang problem in one day.

I sighed I had lost 4 members doing this raid, I should have killed this group first. I knew that Joe had some type of information-gathering ability.

I had just thought that this is the gang we have the least amount of information about. We didn't know their hideouts and bases so finding them all would've taken ages.

I would have alerted the other gangs to our raid. But I guess I'll never know which one was the right choice. We walked back to base ready to mourn our losses and celebrate our victory.
