Port Mafia has a new leader. The news spreads like wildfire on Yokohama. People are unsure about the change that the new leader will bring. The old leader was rumored to be a great leader before, he manage to let the newly establish Port Mafia reach the heights of boldly setting up such 5 high-raise buildings without the intervention of government making the Port Mafia's majesty in Yokohama became unquestionable. But as he get older, his later actions can only be described as madness.

Yokohama citizens who already experienced these storms from the previous leader will probably be unable to get up if the new leader follows the same routine of rule under bloody violence.

"The plot is about to start. What should we do, Rui-chin?"

Izaya asks Rui without turning his head. His focus was on the plate of tuna sushi serve by Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, DOLLARS' chef.

*nom* *nom*

"Hmm! Mit-chi's craft are really the best!"

"You're flattering me again. It still hasn't reach such point."

Mitsutada humbly replies to Izaya. He was created a few months ago to serve as a chef and he's natural talent in cooking. He seems to be able to properly reproduce dishes from recipes copied from sources and re-creating a different flavor combination. But sushi can be said to be one of his specialty due to his excellent skills in swords. He was designs as a sword spirit from a sword of the same name, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, Date Masamune's famous weapon. Appearance made him look at around early 20s (actual age 700+), black hair, golden eye color and an eye patch on his right eye. He's wearing a standard black suits under white collared shirt with a black necktie. He's DOLLAR insignia is number 08 places on the back of his left hand hidden with black gloves like Mikoto. He's real body (sword) is hidden in space which he can summon back any time of need.

"I'm not sure what to do. But I wanted to see Nakahara Chuuya before he joins Port Mafia."

"Are you having some pity towards 'the same kind' or something? You'll piss him off instead."

"Sanemi, there's other ways to phrase that."

"It's all the same thing!"

Subaru reprimands Sanemi's words but he didn't deny that it make sense. Rui is indeed brewing emotion close to pity toward the boy who's trying to live like human despite being different. However...

"My feelings are actually more of awe rather than pity. Because I've 'seen' him suffer and betrayed plugging himself to a deeper darkness but for some reason he didn't lose himself. When I see the story of the world, to me, he seemed more [human] than others could have ever been."

Rui explained her emotions like talking to someone normally. She started to speak more and tries to integrate not only to her avatars but to other people around. The root cause of her social phobia was due to the extreme fear of getting discovered. In this world, she can protect herself better thus giving a sense of security, allowing her to be more courageous than the little girl of her past.

"Later, rumors about Arahabaki and Previous Port Mafia Boss will start to re-appear under Arthur Rimbaud's plans. Mikoto, Subaru. I want you to go in Suribachi City."

"Finally something decent to do."

Suoh stands up with a nonchalant expression on his face while Subaru on Rui's side simply nods. They all know to plot that's about to happen. The goal is to start showing their presence to get into the eyes of people. DOLLARS never meant to do anything. Most of their movements were driven by puny self-interest that people won't normally understand. Rui's desire has always been to be part of the story, but the avatars she created all have different characters that leads to different wishes.

"Izaya, is "that thing" ready?"

"This is hopeless. Our weapon smugglers are two weeks behind the schedule. Our men are going to be fighting with kitchen knifes at this rate, and that's not all. With the escalating violence, we're losing contracts for our protection business."

*Sigh*

"Maybe we just aren't cut out for this? What do you think, Dazai-kun?"

Mori Ogai who's originally slouching on the table turn his back as he questioned Dazai. He wears a purple button-up shirt, black tie, black trousers and a long white coat looking like a sloppy old man rathe than a Port Mafia leader.

"Come on, Mori-san... Not having money, not having intel, not having the trust of your subordinates... You knew that from the very beginning, didn't you?"

"You're so mean. Say, why are you mixing hypertension medication with hypotension medication?"

"I though taking them together might be a comfortable way to die."

Such thoughts, Mori immediately deny Dazai. Saying Dazai who was the one present when he inherited the boss's seat, the witness for old leaders will. He can't have him dead.

"You made an error in judgement. It was smart to choose someone who attempts suicide as your accomplice, but here I am a year later, alive."

" I made no error. You and I were successful in our mission together."

"The mission isn't complete until those who were involved in the assassination are silenced. To that end, I was a perfect accomplice. Even if I end my life in suicide for some unknown motivation after you became boss thanks to my testimony, no one would suspect a thing."

"You remind me of someone."

After such sentence, Mori immediately denies Dazai suspicions. He turn the conversation to another "deal" for Dazai to do for him in exchange for a something that can make him end his life comfortably. He pass him a "Silver Message" that enable him to order any Port Mafia members to investigate a certain rumor spreading in Surubachi City.

If there's a rumor that's harmful to Port Mafia just by spreading, Dazai guessed that it was about the previous leader.

The "Silver Message" is also a pitfall because taking it means Dazai become an official Port Mafia member pulled into the whirlpool. This investigation is his first mission. Dazai who seen through the trap ahead but can only move forward made his way to the exit.

"Oh, right. Who's this person I remind you of?"

"Me. Dazai-kun, why do you wish to die?"

"Let me ask you, then. Do you really think there's any value in the act of living?"
