Mother Of My Son

Carlo watch Lyn as she sleeps in his car. She looks so tired as shown by the dark circle underneath her eyes. He couldn't remember her, but somehow he felt relaxed with her, he didn't know but he drifted to sleep as well. He was awoken by the ringing of his phone. He checked Lynn and she was still asleep. He got out his car and answer his phone.

"Sir, it's time. I think they fell asleep!" The guy on the other line said.

"Okay, let's move." Carlo hung up, then took something from the trunk. It was a gun. He then checked Lynn one more time, then left.

Carlo with 12 men, quietly entered the warehouse. There were two men at the entrance, but they seems to be drunk and was sleeping. Two of the guys that Carlo was with took care of them.

As they entered further, there was another table with three drunk people in it.

"Take care of them!" Carlo commanded.

Two of the guys he was with nodded and was left behind to take care of them.

There's a long wooden chair, with a child sleeping. There's a guy sleeping on the chair besides it. It's 3:00 AM, the thugs must have not expected that anyone would attack at that hour. They were drunk and asleep.

In fact, Carlo's team set up the drinks. One of the guys bought milk for the child from the grocery, the cashier told him that since it's their store anniversary, he was the lucky winner of bunch of heavy drinks. Which the thug happily accepted and share with his friends. He thought that it was his lucky day, they have been paid 50% for kidnapping the child, and tomorrow they will deliver him and they will get the rest of the money. And now, he won those expensive drinks. They party all night since their prisoner was only a two year old boy who has been crying for mummy.

Carlo stared at his son, he looks like he fell asleep crying. He felt sad and guilty at the same time. He should be with his mum right now and not with these bunch of thugs.

"Torture them, make sure to make them spill out the master mind." Carlo ordered coldly.

He approached his son, he slowly carried him up. He was so soft and comfortable to hug. He immediately felt fatherly love to this boy. He can't believe that he existed without his knowledge.

He went out the warehouse and headed to where the car was park at. Lynn was waiting outside the car, and as soon as she saw Carlo with her son, she ran with tears in her eyes. She took her son from Carlo and hugged him. The child opened his eyes and was delighted to see his mother's face.

"Mummy!"

"Yes baby, mummy is here." Lynn hugged him tight and kissed him. He look at Carlo and whispered, "thank you!"

Carlo nodded and smiled. He guided Lynn inside the car, since baby Carl wouldn't let go of his mum, and he has no baby seat ready for him, he let Lynn carry him. He made sure that mother and son were buckled up.

He drove to the resort where Lynn was staying. Carl fell asleep in the car, Lynn lay him in the bed. Then took water in the fridge and give it to Carlo.

"If you want, you can sleep in the couch first. It's 4:30 AM.

Carlo took the water and drink it.

"No thanks, I don't have much time. I want answers." Carlo demanded.

Lynn wrinkled her nose.

That expression is so endearing, Carlo thought.

"Okay, what's your question?" Lynn answered.

"Why didn't you tell me about him?" Carlo asked.

"I didn't know I was pregnant. I found out the day I received the divorce paper. It only happen once, I didn't know that I 'll get pregnant." Lynn answered.

"I thought we were married? You mean we slept only once?" Carlo thought it's either he has a perfect self control or she simply deprived him when they were together.

"We just got married, we were in our honeymoon when it happened." Lynn was thinking how to convince him to let them go.

"You mean, I never touched you prior to that?" Carlo was finding his previous self amusing.

"Well, I did not let you. I was old fashion type." Lynn was finding this explanation ridiculous.

"That's hard to believe when you confessed that you had an affair with my best friend." Carlo said coldly.

Lynn sighed. " Look Carlo, I know that you can't remember anything but I am not forcing you to believe me. I'm tired, I will sleep for a while. We'll go home tomorrow when Carl wakes up."

"What's his name again?" Carlo asked.

"Carl Joseph , from my dad's name and his dad." Lynn answered and headed to the bed where Carl was sleeping and lay down beside him, embracing him. She was afraid that he might be gone when she wakes.up.

Carlo watched mother and son as they sleep peacefully, they seems to have a world of their own that no one can enter. And what a woman Lynn was, she is such a puzzle to him. If she had an affair with Jeff, how come she told him that she was old fashioned and that they only slept together when they got married.

Why did she not say anything before they divorce. Was she hurt that he forgot about her. Or worst, was he wrong about her?

Carlo fell asleep probably because his sunset was with him, thought he couldn't remember, but his body does. He was awaken by an up and down movement. He opened his eyes, he saw a child jumping up and down on the couch where he was sleeping. When he open his eyes, the child stopped, and after few minutes he shouted mummy!

Carlo panicked, he picked up the child and

tried to calm him down. "It's okay, daddy is here!"

The child stop crying and look at him. "Daddy, daddy, daddy!"

"Carlo was stunt, it was the first time he was called daddy. It felt surreal." He hugged.him tight.

Lynn got out from the shower and saw Carlo carrying baby Carl, while the little boy was calling him daddy. Lynn wanted to framed this moment because she has no plans to stay in the country especially with what happen to Carl.

"Hungry everyone? Let's have breakfast downstairs." Lynn stated.

The two boys look her way.

"Mummy, he's daddy?"

Lynn take baby Carl and hug him. "Yes baby, he's daddy."

The little boy hug his mum, then jump down from her, then hold his dad's hand.

"Let's eat!" Carlo said.

The three were having breakfast. There were bodyguards around, Carlo wanted to make sure that they are safe, especially since they have not found out the people behind the kidnapping.

"After our breakfast, I'll take you home. I have things to do. I'll go and see you guys as soon as I'm done."

Lynn hesitated, but decided to be honest with Carlo, anyways, if he wanted to, he can always find them. "No need for that. We are leaving, our flight is this afternoon. We'll head.to airport after this."

Carlo stopped eating. "No way! You are not going to take my son away again."

"It's safer this way. " Lynn was hoping that Carlo will understand.

"I can protect you!" Carlo said coldly.

Carlo's phone rung, he stood up and answer it.

"Speak!" He commanded.

"Boss, they confessed, the master mind was Ms. Tin Li. " The guy on the other line said.

"Any proof?" Carlo wanted to have an evidence.

"They did not meet her, another person met them, but the account where the money came from was from Ms. Li."

"Okay, got it. Turn them over to the police. I'll take care of Tin." Carlo instructed coldly.

Carlo return to the table. "Are you done, let's go back to M city." Carlo announced.

Lynn got upset, he might have an amnesia but he is the same old arrogant Carlo. "I said we are leaving this afternoon. No need to bother about us."

"I said no!" Carlo said firmly.

He stood up, take Carl from Lynn. Instructed the bodyguards to take the luggage to the car. Lynn ofcourse followed him since he has Carl.

"Can you act more mature. I need.to be back to E country soon. My cousin is waiting for me!" Lynn followed him. His steps were longer that hers, it's an effort to catch up with him.

"Let Janey wait. I want to spend time with my son." Carlo said.

"What did you say?" Lynn was wondering how he found out the name of her cousin.

"I said let her wait." Carlo repeated.

"No, I mean I think I heard you say Janey. How did you know her name?" Lynn said.

"Did I? I don't know!" Carlo stopped, he did say Janey, he didn't know why, he didn't even remember who that name belongs to.
