CHAPTER 28
MCKINLEY P.O.V
I had finally made plans with Celeste to help her go shopping for her wedding and since they already had a date, we needed to work fast to get flowers, her dress, a caterer, and a place where they would both decide to get married.
Celeste thought that it might be easier if it was just me and her shopping instead of bringing the boys with us. We first had lunch and then headed off to a flower shop. We sat around for hours looking at different flowers and setting them up in different ways to see what she would like best.
"I love Jack, I really do, but this is all too much." She sighed.
"What do you mean?"
"I don't want a big fancy wedding." I nodded. "I don't want tons of people there that don't actually care about us."
"Then don't invite them. Your wedding day is suppose to be about you. If you don't want randoms there, don't invite them." I shrugged. "Have a small little wedding but you can have a bigger reception if you want." I added.
"Ugh, that's a great idea! Then people with kids can still come but they won't have to sit through the boring part!" She said making me laugh. "Also, I think we're gonna go with the purple flowers. I want my bridesmaids to wear purple. Speaking of bridesmaids..." She said looking at me. "Will you be my bridesmaid? Luke will walk you down the aisle." She smiled.
"Sure!" I said. I then felt bad because I didn't want to be in Courtney's wedding and hopefully she wouldn't take offense to me being in Jack and Celeste's.
"Like I said, it will be small. The wedding party is just my sister, you, Luke and Benji so its very small." I smiled as we put in order for what we wanted and for the date of the wedding before we went off to the next place. We started looking at dresses but not for her to try on just for her to get a taste of something that she would like. "Do you think you and Luke will ever get married?"
"Um, I'm not sure. I see a future with him. I can picture myself having kids with him and buying a house. But you don't have to be married to have all of those things." I commented. "I'm complicated."
"Have you talked about it?" I nodded.
"He knows how I feel about it. I bounce back and forth between saying I want to get married and not. He's very understanding." I smiled. I loved Luke. He meant everything in the world to me and if I could somehow keep him around for the rest of my life without screwing it up, I would. I knew that eventually sometime down the road that I would screw it up and he would leave me. "I'm not the type of girl that people stay with for a long time."
"What was your longest relationship?" She questioned and I was trying to count in my head how long me and Luke had been together. We started dating in December and it was now the beginning of October.
"Roughly ten months." I answered.
"With who?" She questioned.
"Luke." I answered honestly.
"Your longest relationship is Luke?" I nodded. "Well my longest relationship is Jack."
"Yes but you've been with Jack for years and I'm sure you've had relationships that have lasted longer than a few weeks before."
"Yeah..." She trailed off.
"I was a whore before I met Luke."
"What?" I nodded. "What do you mean you were a whore?" She seemed shocked by my words.
"I mean I slept around. Never really had a boyfriend." I shrugged. "I wasn't big on the whole relationship thing and then suddenly I moved states and had no one and was too busy with work to be banging random dudes. Then one day this hot piece of ass comes walking into the book store."
"That's why you call him Mr. Book Store!" She said.
"Exactly! That's where we met." I smiled thinking back to it. "He saw me looking at a book and I put it back. When I walked away he ran off to buy it before tracking me down in the store and giving it to me."
"He's such a tool." She said making me laugh.
"Did you uh... Know he was gonna get married?" I asked her and she became silent.
"You know about that?" I nodded. "Did he tell you?"
"No. She showed up at his door one day and I snooped through his house and found the invitation." I commented. "Sometimes I feel like I was the rebound girl."
"You're not the rebound girl. You're the real deal." She answered. "He loves you. A lot." She smiled.
"It's scary sometimes. How much I love him. I would do anything for him to be happy at all times."
"He just needs sex and food and some love." I laughed.
"Apparently his mom walked in on him having sex when he was younger. Whenever we have sex he's very cautious of locking doors."
"Jack is too." I giggled a little.
"He's an amazing person." I commented. "He rarely takes time for himself. He'll bring me coffee at work if I had trouble sleeping the night before." I smiled to myself. "He's just... I need to thank Liz." She laughed. "Like the last time we went wedding shopping, all of a sudden I was hit with a wave of depression and he was so supportive and he never got angry at me."
"He knows what it's like to not be okay." She commented. "Right before college he had a mental break down and didn't leave his room for two months. No one knew what was going on, he rarely ate, he rarely came out of his room. Then one day he came down the stairs and told everyone he had a plan. That was that, he was going to work in the music business and he finally went off to college."
*LUKE P.O.V*
"I'm a shit golfer." I whined. Ben had invited me to go golfing with him and my dad and sadly I sucked.
"There's only one more hole." My dad commented as I sat down in the cart waiting for him to get it in.
"I need some advice." I commented. Without even looking at me he said,
"Just do it."
"Uh no. Listen, I'm being serious." They both rolled their eyes before I started. "I want to ask McKinley to move in with him." Ben looked up at me and looked a little shocked. "I'm worried that she'll think I'm crazy or she'll think I'm going to propose soon."
"Okay, no. You haven't even been dating for a year. I don't think you should ask her to move in. Maybe start with a little step, give her a key to your apartment."
"She knows the code to the garage."
"Yeah but her having a key is more special." He commented as they both got into the cart and drove off. "I mean do you have sleepovers every night?"
"Mostly."
"Are her clothes in your closet?"
"Some of them."
"Oh. Well... I don't know. Maybe ask her what she thinks about it instead of asking her to move in and if she's cool with the idea, then I say do it." He nodded and I nodded with him.
"Dad? Any advice?"
"Son, it doesn't matter what I say, you'll do the opposite."
So I took Ben's advice and made an extra key for my apartment and then went food shopping to cook her a beautiful homemade meal for when she gets back. I had no idea how I was going to ask her. It's a hard topic to talk about. I felt that we were in a serious enough relationship to live together and if we decide that it doesn't work out, she doesn't have to stay.
I set everything up at her apartment since that's where she said we should have dinner before she went out with Celeste.
"Hi." She smiled coming into the kitchen and kissing me. "How was your day?" She questioned getting two wine glasses and poured wine into both of them.
"Good. Went golfing. I'm not very good." She giggled a little as she sat down and I placed a plate in front of her before sitting across from her with mine. "How was your day?"
"Good. We got the flower's picked out. Her and Jack have to pick from a list of food. We looked at dresses but she didn't find anything that she liked." She shrugged as she ate. I stayed quiet for a while just listening to her talk. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Yeah. I just... I don't know." Suddenly it felt like the key was burning a hole in my pants and giving me third degree burns on my thigh.
"What's wrong?" She asked worried as I began to sweat and became red. "Luke? Are you okay?" She stood up and got me some water.
"Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry." She looked so worried. "I didn't mean to worry you."
"What's going on?"
"I um... I was wondering what your thoughts are on moving in with me." I commented trying to act casual.
"What?" She questioned and this time she was the one to look worried. "What do you mean move in with you? We haven't even been dating for a year. Are you crazy?"
"Kin, calm down. I was just asking what you thought about it. If you're not ready that's fine." I was a little shocked by her reaction even though I knew I shouldn't be. This was her first serious relationship.
"I- I'm sorry. I just wasn't expecting you to ask me that." She said calming down and taking a sip of the water that she got for me.
"Until then, here is a key. I know you know the garage code but..." I shrugged pulling it out of my pocket and handing it to her. "That's yours." I smiled and thankfully she smiled back at me.
"Do you want me to move in?" She questioned.
"I would like you to, yes. I had being away from you. I understand if you're not ready to do this. I know that people hate change." I commented.
"Okay. How about in December, when my lease is up, I move in?" She questioned.
"Are you serious?" I asked standing up and she nodded standing up and jumping into my arms. "We're gonna live together!" I shouted kissing her. Of course it was only October but that gave us enough time to get her things packed and maybe put some stuff in storage if need be.
"I love you." She smiled kissing me.
"I love you more." She giggled as she kissed me again before I set her down. "I'm still hungry so sex is gonna have to wait." I commented sitting down which made her laugh as she down again and we both finished eating.
"I'm gonna go brush my teeth." She ran passed me and locked herself in the bathroom while I went to the bed and got naked. She came out a few minutes later in nothing.
"Oh my god." I groaned getting off the bed moving towards her. "Can I touch?" I questioned.
"Of course." She smiled giving me the right to touch her body. I quickly slapped her ass and brought her over to the bed.
"Be a good girl." I smirked laying her down and spreading her legs.
"I'll do my best, Daddy." I looked up at her as she giggled. "I don't like it."
"Neither do I." I commented making her giggle again as I ran my fingers lightly over the skin on her thigh and then her stomach. She hissed as I came in contact with her clit and she lifted her hips off the bed. "What did I say?"
"To be a good girl." She said. She stayed still as I fingered her letting a few moans escape past her lips. "Please." She moaned.
"Please what?" I asked.
"Fuck me." I stood going around the bed and grabbing the condom. Once I got it on I pulled her by her feet to the edge of the bed. "Hard." She smirked.
"That's the plan." I thrusted into her waiting for her to adjust before thrusting hard and fast just like she wanted. She kept a pillow over her mouth as she screamed and moaned into it only getting me closer to the edge. She drove me crazy.
"I'm gonna-" I was cut off by a moan as she clenched around me making me orgasm. I moaned as she screamed and lifted her hips making me pull out and fall beside me. "I love you." I moaned pulling her in by the back of the neck to kiss her.
"I love you." She smiled. I pulled the blanket over both of us as she laid next to me with one of her hands on my chest and the other in my hair. "So much."
