Chapter 6

Jason Lee, an arrogant and prideful person who always looks down on people and love to watch them suffer under his own hands is currently in front of true horror.

He felt it himself, his life is now at the mercy of the masked person infront of him.

"P-please let me go, I'll do anything."

The masked person suggested something in regards to Jason's plead.

"Why don't we make this a game."

"A g..game?"

The masked person told Jason that they are on top of an abandoned building right now. If Jason wants to leave here arrive, all he has to do is get down the building as fast as he can while the masked person chases him with the intent to kill.

The moment Jason steps out of the building, the masked person would no longer pursue him. That is the game that Jason has to play to escape.

'This f*cker is insane!'

"To give you further chances, I will provide you with a one minute head start. Not only that, I would also give you a pistol with exactly three bullet loaded in it. I will only chase you with nothing but daggers."

If what the masked person said is true then Jason truly has a chance to escape with his life so he took the opportunity and agreed to the game's terms.

The game started. Jason got freed from being tied up from the chair and was given a minute heads start. With the gun in his hand, he sprinted his way out of the building's top floor.

He ran as fast as he could but he has to be careful as the whole place is pitch dark and only the deem light of the moon that passes through the demolished walls of the building lights up his path.

In a blink of an eye, one minute has passed as the masked individual is already preparing to make his move.

"Time to hunt."

With Jason's heart racing due to exhaustion of running, it was mostly because of fear. He was desperately running for his life when suddenly he felt something slowly flowing from the right side of his neck.

Jason stopped from his tracks and touched that area, and to his surprise it was blood but what most surprised him is that his right ear is no longer attached to his head.

"Aaaaaahhhhh!!"

He screamed in pain as he held the bleeding right side of his head. The stinging pain slowly built up in his head.

"I must be getting rusty. I was certain I aimed at the head."

Jason faintly heard that same voice from earlier using his left ear. It was that masked lunatic. Shivers went down his spine as he aimed his gun to the voice's location and fired a shot.

"D-did I get him?"

"Don't just aimlessly waste your bullets. Your gonna die if you keep that up."

This time, it's Jason's left shoulder that got targeted by the dagger. The dagger went right through his shoulder. The aching pain that Jason is experiencing is something he never felt before.

He's sweating heavily as he tried to remove the dagger as he ran again.

The screams he made as he pulled out the buried blade in his shoulder resonated throughout the whole place. This however also revealed his location. A dagger was then thrown at him but lucky for Jason, it barely grazed his neck. Would it be a little dipper and it's the end for him.

Now on the ground floor of the building. Jason's eyes widened as the exit is now on sight and escape is almost grasped. With the remaining strength on his legs, he further quickened his stride.

A desperate smile slowly formed on his face as he thought he is saved but that smile immediately turned to a look of torment when a dagger got imbedded on his left foot. Jason stumbled on his footing and crashed on the floor.

His whole body is aching due to numerous wounds and injuries he got but despite that, Jason still has energy to spare to stand back up.

The masked person slowly walked towards his direction without any weapon at hand whatsoever.

'Did he use all his daggers?'

"I commend you for going this far. You almost escaped but you're a few steps short."

Jason took the chance of the assailant coming near him to take out his gun and fired the last bullet right at the masked man.

"Die!"

The gun was fired but the shot unexpectedly missed by a hair's dreath.

"That was dangerous."

The masked man was suddenly in front of him. Jason was shocked of how he closed the distance that easily seeing how they were still at least about four meters apart when Jason fired his pistol.

'What happened?! His head should've been blown by now.'

Jason was interrupted in his thoughts when the masked man spoke to him.

"You're probably thinking how I was supposed to be hit by that shot right? The answer is in your right arm."

'Huh? What's he talking about?'

The confused lad hesitantly looked at his right arm only to see his whole arm dislocated. Even his fingers faced the opposite side of where it should be.

He didn't even have the vigor to scream anymore at the pain that swiftly struck his right arm as he just passed out.

"Passing out already? You're pretty boring despite having such a loud mouth."

The masked person took of his mask and revealed the face of an adolescent boy. He has light brown hair with grayish eyes which surely belonged to that of a foreigner.

"For all the one's you can offend, you just have to mess with leader. Still, you should consider yourself fortunate as you're the first one to even be left alive after getting on his nerves."

The mysterious boy then left the abandoned building leaving the dying Jason on the floor. As luck would have it, a wandering old man spotted Jason lying down inside the ground floor of the abandoned building which immediately got him medical attention.

He may have kept his life but he fell into a coma with almost a low chance of ever waking up. Even if he ever did got up from his bed, Jason would still be severely traumatized from what he got that night where someone played with his life like some sort of insignificant toy. It would surely forever haunt him till the day he die.

In Kyle's balcony, he is now enjoying his usual morning coffee when that foreigner came appearing right before him.

"Sir, I have done what you've ordered."

As it turns out, Kyle ordered someone to deal with Jason Lee. Simply spreading the recording was not enough for Kyle's vexation to dissipate. Jason needs to learn it the hard way, physically.

The brown haired guy explained all that he's done to Jason Lee without leaving any details.

"You've done well, Adrian Weber."

"I pledged to be useful to you when you took me in ten years ago so I'm unworthy of such praise. Simply serving you is all that matters to me."

Ten years ago, Kyle was assigned a task in Germany. There he met Adrian Weber as an orphan skilled in pick pocketing. The little boy tried to steal Kyle's wallet on one occasion but failed. Our protagonist found potential in him so he took Adrian into custody. From then on, he was trained to be an exceptional assassin.

"You were still just a child back then. Oh how time flies..."

"Indeed it has."

"You made sure to keep him alive right?"

"Yes, barely."

Kyle dismissed the teen. Adrian Weber then left after reporting to Kyle.

"Thank goodness he didn't kill Jason. I only wanted him to teach him a lesson but I didn't expect that kid to go that far. Since when did he become so violent?"
