She was not expecting he would call out her name all of a sudden and stopped talking as instructed.

He did not say anything to her or even looked at her, his eyes and attention seemed to have drifted off somewhere else.

Unlike Ye Cheng who had a good sense of hearing, hers wasn't too good especially when she was distracted or worried.

At that same time when she quieted down, she heard the noise herself. She stopped talking and looked up at him then stood up. By now Ye Cheng was already at the front of the dining room with his eyes fixed at the windows.

Before she knew what was going on, she saw several men come out from the path leading up and from the bushes at the front.

'What is going on? They are all… armed.'
