He was surprised to see a woman actually standing there and looking at him.

Jc - "Sorry, do...?"

*Ring*

Emily was about to answer when Jc's phone rang, interrupting her. Jc checked the caller's name as he got up, initially thinking about rejecting it but then decided to answer the call.

Jc - "Hmm?" He responded apathetically to the other side.

Jc - "Okay..."

*Hang up*

Jc - "Sorry for the wait. Were you asking for directions?"

Emily - "N-no." She replied with a bit of a rough tone in her voice.

Jc - "Well, okay, I'll be going now." He gave her a shrug as he walked past her.

Emily just stood there, staring at the distant Jc as he walked away, out of her sight. She covered her mouth with her delicate hands while she broke down in tears.

'I'm sorry.'

Jc - "Can I ask if there's a patient named Alex Park assigned here?"

Nurse - "For a moment, sir... Yes, he's in the-"

The nurse's gaze was momentarily distracted, as it was rare to see a handsome guy with a bad-boy look and an earring on his left ear wearing a school uniform.

Jc - "No, it's alright. I'm just going to pay his medical bills..." He took out his wallet from his bag.

Nurse - "Okay..."

After some fumbling, Jc realized that his wallet was missing. The nurse watched with disappointment, thinking, 'Fairy tales are just fairy tales... I thought I would be a witness to a perfect, handsome, boyfriend material with riches.'

Jc - "Ms."

Nurse - "Yes?" The nurse snapped out of her daydream.

Jc - "I was saying, can I make a call for a minute and will be back? I lost my wallet."

Nurse - "No problem, sir!"

Jc hesitated to dial the number on the phone, as he had hung up on this contact a while ago. However, he decided to press the button.

Pat - "So, did you change your mind?"

Jc - "No, but can I borrow some money? I'll pay you back with interest."

Pat - "You!... Don't you feel ashamed after you hung up on me earlier? You ran away with my money!"

Jc - "One, you can't eat shame. Two, it was my money after you tricked me into playing with your players. I will send you the address."

Pat - "I haven't-"

*Hangs up.*

Pat - "Okay, we need to inhale... Exhale..." Pat meditated in his car for a while and then drove off.

"Thank you." Pat thanked the nurse and was about to leave when he heard the nurse asking for his number, but he rejected because he was already 27 years old with a wife and a kid.

When Pat came out of the hospital, he immediately saw Jc waiting in the back seat of his car, smoking a cigarette.

Pat - "Did you know that smoking is not allowed in the car?"

Jc - "But I opened the window."

Pat looked at him and sighed, then opened the car door and got in.

"So, why are you in my car, sir?" Pat said sarcastically.

"Let's stop by at the 'Memorial Park' first."

"Do you know how old I am, mister? I have a job, a wife, and a kid now! I'm at the age where you should call me big brother now!"

Jc ignored the protests of Pat and then smoked one last time, using a pocket ashtray to dispose of the used cigarette. He buttoned up his uniform before staring at Pat through the rearview mirror.

Pat couldn't hide his pride and fear, despite being much taller. Jc exuded an aura that could intimidate even a tiger.

"W-w-what? You think I'm scared! Let's go outside." Pat opened his car door again, about to get out.

"I'm done, big brother. Let's go." Jc said in a respectful tone.

"G-good! I'll drop you there." Pat breathed a sigh of relief and quickly started his car's engine. He didn't know what had come over him when he challenged Jc to go outside.

Jc grinned at Pat's reaction.

They stopped at a gate, and there they were stopped by a security guard patrolling. The guard went to the driver's window.

"Sir, we are close now. Come back tomorrow from 5 AM to 5 PM for the visiting hours."

Pat - "What now? Should I drop you here?"

Jc just rolled down the rear window, and the guard noticed him saluting.

"So it's you. But only 30 minutes, okay?" The guard went back to open the gate.

The car drove through the gate.

Pat - "Are you in some sort of gang or something?"

Jc - "No way, big brother, how come you assumed I threatened the man."

Pat - "Then what was that? Your parents rich?"

Jc - "I wouldn't have to call you to pay the bills. You could say he owes me something." Jc smiled at Pat through the rearview mirror.

Pat, on the other hand, was perplexed.

"You have a relative resting here?"

"Sorry, forget I asked. Let's find it tomorrow, or it might not even be here anymore. It's almost 7 now, and my wife is a bit of a boxer, so I'm on a curfew too."

"Part of my soul is resting here..." Jc said those words and stopped what he was doing before walking toward Pat.

"I've been thinking about your offer. Is it still available?"
