A Not So Normal World

Morin was surprised when he saw his parents in this world are the same as his previous one.

He took the surprise with happiness which also brought happiness to his parents.

When he was brought home he looked at the city around him, the technology seems to be far more advanced than the one in his previous world.

There are many robots that take care of people's daily needs, while the people seem to be doing cosplay everywhere.

Some have cat ears, dog tail, or even a pair of horns which picked his interest.

'Why is cosplaying so popular in this world? Is the entertainment industry just that good here?'

After a few minutes of driving they arrived back home, when Morin looked at the house he became happy as the design is the same as in his previous life.

While reminiscing he noticed that a robot in a butler suit was waiting in front of the house, the butler bowed at his parents and they nodded at him while also thanking him for taking care of the house.

"It's my pleasure", the robot replied.

Morin inspected the inside of the house and found it very similar again to his previous life, it's just that there are many advanced technologies around the house.

His parents walked to their room and put Morin on his bed, he looked at them as they played with him with a smile.

Happiness filled Morin as he grabbed his Mom's finger and laughed, they seemed surprised at first then laughed along with him.

It's been a few weeks since my birth, in those few weeks my Mom always stays with me while my Dad always tries his best to spend more time with me after work.

"Pap pa pa ba ba ba pi bi bi bu bu bu be be be bo bo bo"

I keep trying to speak but my vocal cord can't make a clear sentence yet.

"Is there anything you need young master?", the voice of Sebastian the butler robot sounded beside me.

"Nyo, nyeed notching"

"Then I excuse myself as I need to clean the dishes", Sebastian bowed before leaving.

I looked at Sebastian, the first time he suddenly appeared like that he nearly gave me a heart attack.

It's not like I was hiding my training, Sebastian is just that good at sneaking around and I don't know why, maybe he was programmed like that so he didn't disturb his owner? I don't know.

Anyway, people might be confused why I didn't hide my training, since the first rule of reincarnation is to lay low and become a crouching tiger or hidden dragon.

My reason is that this world isn't normal, well the humans of this world have already become space faring Civilization around tens of millions of years ago.

Sadly an unrecorded event caused not just humanity, but also most of other space faring civilizations at that time to regress far back.

It is said that the old humans are capable of controlling reality, they can destroy planets with a thought and turn a desolate planet to a paradise.

Alas that was in the past, their legacy has been lost in the river of time, now humanity is barely able to survive with their awakening technique.

The awakening technique allowed humanity to awaken their innate power, this power can take many different forms, so the cosplayers I saw before probably aren't cosplaying, well there is other intelligent species too so maybe they are a part of them.

There is a problem however, I'm basically a different race altogether since I fused my genes, I don't know if I would be able to awaken any power, so I used my improved intelligence to think of an alternative way to get stronger.

That's when I realized the air is very fresh, far too fresh than what a city is supposed to have, even with all of the air cleaning technology I still think it's impossible to make the air this fresh.

And that's when my 3rd quest finally appeared, giving me the confirmation that something in the air is my key to power.

That's why I didn't hide my training, this world is abnormal and by hiding my training I would be slowing my progress which is dangerous in the long run.

My parents also supported me as my Mom thinks that I'm just smart and my Dad keeps bragging that I got my intelligence from him.

Since my birth or more precisely since my evolution I have noticed a big increase in my progress.

My body control and mind training quest has reached 30% completion while the new breathing quest just reached 5%.

I'm now able to control my skeletal muscle more efficiently, reducing the stamina consumed by moving them, and also make them stay flexible.

I'm probably as strong as a 5 year old now, which makes me feel my effort is worth it.

For my mind I now have a greater control over my emotions, I also feel a quality increase in my memory and mental calculations.

But I didn't let myself become arrogant as I knew there must be other tigers and dragons out there.

Today is my first day in kindergarten, and I'm exited for it!

I know it's weird coming from an ex-adult, but childhood is the time where one can find their life long friend, a friend that you can go through sweet and sour with.

And also I don't think being around kids are as bad as people thought, they are innocent and kind of stupid so I can be their leader or something.

"Bye sweetie!"

"Bye Mom!"

Me and Mom waved at each other among the cries of children, I then entered the classroom and was surprised at how cool it was.

There are many toys, drawing tablets, and story books! I can already feel how good my school life will be.

"Umu", I nodded with satisfaction before going to a front desk and sitting on the chair.

Not long after more and more kids were entering the classroom, some entered happily but everyone ended up crying when their parents left them.

Fortunately after the teacher entered she masterfully calmed the children, she went through the normal introduction before telling us to introduce ourselves starting from me.

I walked to the front of the class with a smile.

"Hi! My name is Morin! Nice to meet you!"

The teacher clapped at my confidence before the other kids followed suit.

"Thank you for the performance Morin! Now let's continue…"

"Hm, I wonder what Mom prepared for me~?"

Morin slowly opened his lunch box, inside he found 4 big rice balls and 2 box of apple juice.

He picked a rice ball with shining eyes before eating it, a smile crept on his face as he savored the delicious filling of the rice ball.

He wondered about what other brought to school so he looked around while munching on his rice ball.

Some brought sandwiches, pasta, fried rice, and one kid even brought a slice of cake.

Morin looked around curiously when he found the kid next to him only brought a small bag of chips.

The kid suddenly turned around and Morin acted like nothing happened, the kid seemed to be also looking at what others brought to school but with sad eyes.

Then his eyes landed on Morin's rice balls, he gulped but then hurriedly turned his head not wanting to make Morin notice him.

To his surprise a hand holding a rice ball appeared in front of him, he looked at it and then at Morin who was still munching on his rice ball.

"N-no need, this chips are enough for me", the kid said shyly but his stomach betrayed him *growl*

Morin didn't budge as he shoved the rice ball closer to the kid, they went back and forth for a couple of minutes before the kid reluctantly took the rice ball.

Morin happily looked as the kid devoured the rice ball, he could see the kid's eyes became a bit wet as he finished the rice ball.

"T-thank you, I-I will make sure to pay you back"

The kid shyly said but Morin just shook his head before smiling.

"Be my friend!"

The kid is surprised at first, but after that he nodded his head seriously which earned a chuckle from Morin.

Both of them talked for a bit until the teacher entered the classroom.

"Alright everyone! Now we will learn about superpowers"

"Superpowers are the cool abilities that people awakened through the awakening process when they entered High School"

"The superpower everyone has is different! Some can make wind while other can move earth"

While the other kids are in awe, Morin is very concerned.

'Uh, I don't think rising their expectations are good… power like cold fart exists after all'

"Now, who wants to get superpowers?"

"Me!"

"Me teacher!"

"Me too!"

'I guess I'm wrong, dealing with kids are hard'

The classroom instantly drown in chaos as kids shouted one after another, Morin can only sigh as he closed his ears by controlling the muscle inside of it.

"Alright, alright, everyone wants superpowers but first you need to have a strong body so the superpowers didn't hurt you!", the teacher smiled while showing her muscles.

'God dang this woman is ripped! Sigh, thankfully they created a program to train these kid's body, superpowers of any forms are dangerous if your body can't handle it'

""Alright teacher!"", everyone including Morin shouted.

At the end of the day Morin waved at his new friend—Crow as both of them walked away with their parents.

"So sweetie, how's your first day in school~?"

"It's fun! The teachers are great and I got a new friend!"

"Huhu, then let's celebrate with ramen today!"

"Yay!"

Morin and his Mom walked home, the sunset shines upon their smiling face, bringing happiness to everyone who saw them.
