Chapter 1

It was Wednesday morning, and Lisa's mother had just dropped her off at school.

She pretended to be happy, but she was nervous. Why did he leave her message on reading? The stagnant thought circulated.

A part of her was hurt, and a tiny part hated him for that. Maybe it was accidental.

Lisa walked down the hallway, listening to some upbeat songs. People were staring as usual, but she was used to it. She did look quite gothic today, which was not her everyday style. Maybe that's why they all stared.

With her hair dried and toned, that was one distinction about her.

She reached into her locker, put in her literature book, and took out her math book. As she closed the locker, she felt a tap on her shoulder that startled her. I wondered who would want to talk to her.

It might be one of these high school boys who doesn't let a pretty girl go her way. Lisa didn't know she was very pretty.

Neither did Thaddeus know she was pretty. Who am I lying to? She was gorgeous.

"Thaddeus?" She asked in disbelief, and yes, he was the one who tapped her shoulder.

"Hey Lisa," he said, leaning against my locker.

His oceanic eyes stared right into hers, and she could not help but blush.

"I like your look today," he complimented, looking at her from head to toe. She began breathing heavily, as she did whenever she was nervous or atheist around a cute boy.

"He's finally talking to me." She whispered in her head, wondering if he could hear what she said.

"Thank you," she replied, trying to hide all her emotions.

She looked at the floor and felt him still looking at her. It was silent, and they were now just looking at each other. Constantly fantasizing about the worlds they'd be in if they were together.

She drowned in his eyes and his lips too, making her feel all sorts of good things.

She lost; she wasn't supposed to feel any emotion. His face was attractive—not too unapproachable, but with a playful glow to it. He looked like a model but had an easy feel to him at the same time.

"I saw your text yesterday, and I'm so sorry I didn't reply; my phone switched off right after I read your message."

"Oh it's_" She wanted to say something, but he stopped her.

"I know it sounds like a lame excuse," he chuckled and looked down, "but I just didn't want you to think I ignored you. So I came to say it in person."

Not even in her wildest dreams and fantasies had something like this happened. She just could not believe what the stars had in store for her.

His husky voice rang in her ear and echoed in her heart. His words, "I didn't want you to think I ignored you," made her feel like somebody in his life. But was she? Or was he just being friendly?

Natasha glanced at her and smiled excitedly. That type of excitement you see at weddings She kept making gestures that Lisa ignored and focused on him. The bell rang, and they had to get to math class.

"Shall we?" He stretched his hand.

"We shall," she gushed with uncontrollable thoughts of desire.

We reached math class, and the butterflies in her stomach were tired of circulating in her abdomen. She sat down in her usual seat. Surprisingly, Thaddeus accompanied her.

He sat where Nicole always sat.

It wasn't much of a surprise Thaddeus wanted it known that soon that was going to be his. I mean Lisa.

As he sat, she could smell his lovely and expensive cologne spray. It was his signature smell; it smelt like the roses and Lillie's were crushed together in an endless search for a better smell.

"Pay attention, "he said as he caught her staring at him.

"Sorry, "she apologized.

Finally, the class was over. Lisa was tired of stressing about whatever term in calculus that was.

"Slut! " She heard one of the cheerleader girls say as she passed their group.

It must have been Nicole; was it because he took her seat, or did she just have nothing else to say other than that?

"That's all she is, another said as she sped her pace.

Lisa had a feeling it was about her, but why would it be about her? I wondered to myself, fearing the solid answer: Thadeus.

Of course, she knew the cheerleader captain was head over heels for him, but she never thought the obsessiveness would reach such an extreme extent. Lisa leaned on Natasha's car, hoping her chemistry class was over too.

"Mrs.Thaddeus is waiting for a ride from her best friend as usual, "one cheerleader said as the whole crew passed beside her.

Were they jealous, or were they basic teenagers without a life? The latter fitted fittingly.

"Or maybe she's waiting to ride Thaddeus, "another added as she sparked laughter in the cheerleading team.
