Kobolds are ugly little creatures; they look like scraggly dogs standing on two legs. They attack like rapid dogs, all aggression no skill. The only good thing about them is that their senses at virtually unmatched by any other monster.
This makes it easy to get swarmed if one is not careful. The name of the game is to not even try to sneak up on them, just rush them and try to end fights quickly. One also must watch out as kobolds have a habit of howling when they are about to die, which quickly results in a swarm.
So that was what awaited me in the dungeon.
As I teleported to floor 6, I looked around while drawing my swords. All I saw was other adventures, so off the beaten path it is.
After a couple minutes of walking, I was finally alone.
A minute after that I ran into my first kobold.
Suffice to say, I was disappointed by my new opponent. Now I get why most would consider them tougher than goblins. They don't have that fear and cowardness that goblins do, when they start, they don't stop until their opponent or they are dead. This is a rare trait, few lack the fear of death. Kobolds will give muscle to take bone.
However, Kobolds are amateurs compared to me in this style, as a result they just look clumsy and silly in my eyes. The gaps in their style could not be more glaring to me and predicting what they will do next is as simple as can be.
First, they will swing their claws in a crushing blow, which hand they use is easy to see as they lead with it. This is easy to dodge under and to the side. This leads to an easy first blow which allows one to end the fight by piercing the head/ chest if confident in being able to get through the limited muscle and bone or disabling an arm if unconfident.
Then, comes the bite, easily dodgeable if you can time it right. This opens the throat to a second strike. This can be fight ending if you are confident in avoiding or destroying the spine. If not, its best to go for a blunt blow or shallow cut as they are both pretty debilitating.
After those two moves, if the kobold is still alive, the fight is over as the best condition the kobold can be in is down one arm and bleeding out or barely breathing.
Thus, I find myself holding a magic stone after a quick and easy fight.

After I absorbed the magic stone, I felt something click into place, then came the rush.
My finger and toenails turn long, sharp as knifes, and black as night. Ruining my shoes by the way, guess sandals are the way to go from now on.
My canine teeth turned into fangs.
My hair turned long, shaggy, and timber wolf gray.
My ears elongated and sharpened then grew hair.
I grew gray fur along my arms and back.
My iris turned a beastly yellow and my sclera turned black as pitch.
I felt my senses sharpen.
An additional layer of muscle was added to my body.
I could feel the power that radiated off this form, it felt right. It was strange though as I felt no drain of my magic reserves, just that my reserves were out of reach in this form. Now was the time to kill my lesser brethren, aka the kobolds.
