Hunter Examination! 5

Soon, the participants began walking towards the portal.

The first one to enter was the hunter in a fitted armor followed by the guy with a glistening armor. They seem to be confident on their abilities that much.

After them, the teams started entering too, holding each others hand so that they will be transported in the same area.

Once a hunter enters a portal, they will be transported in different areas, so holding each others hand is a must for a team.

A later while, the red haired boy was about to enter the portal, but before he could, he tilt his head and take a look on William..

" See you later, timid boy..", the red haired boy said calmly, but one can infer that theres a threat between those words.

Adam had no time to speak back as the boy quickly entered the portal. Soon, it was time for Adam and William to enter.

They hold each others hand, got nearer to the portal, then take a breather and entered the portal nervously. They didnt know what kinds of monster would be living inside the portal, or where they would be transported so being nervous was really understandable.

Soon, when all the participants entered the portal, the woman's gaze turns into a melancholy one and stared at the portal intimately..

" You better survive future hunters..." The woman utter..

When Adam entered the portal, he felt a little dizzy as his body was being transported. A second later, the scene before him change completely, the dense forest before was now a wide and seems to be endless swamp!

Adam had no time to observe his surrounding greatly cause as soon as they appeared, Adam felt a great danger coming at their back!

So he quickly activate the shield, and soon a ' ting ' was heard as something hit the shield at their back.

The shield was now six meter long and 2 meters wide, enough to cover their whole body.

As the object his the shield, it lose its momentum and intstantly drop on the ground. Adam take a look at the object and got a bit shock at it!

It was a one meter long projectile and as wide as adults arm! It was metallic with a pointed end that seems to have a great penetrating force.

' If I was hit by that, I'll surely be dead! ', Adam gulped

A later while, a 'ting' was heard again as another projectile hit the shield. Adam had no time to attack nor even take a look at the monster as they are in a defensive position.

A consective projectile hit the shield repeatedly, but the shield was still unmove!

As the shield level increases, its shape was not the only changes, it seems that its defensive power also increased!

Soon, while Adam and William are taking a gulped at the consecutive attack, it stopped all of sudden, which bring tense to the two.

Adam was thinking what to do next, cause he was not sure whether the monster was an intelligent type and was planning to trick them.

Soon, when a minute passed and no projectile comes, Adam collected his urge and take a peek at the monster...

He slowly and carefully move his head towards the end of the shield to take a look, gulping every seconds until his mouth dried!

Adam's heart was throbbing so hard as he moves his head.. But soon, what Adam saw shocks him!

There's no monster before them, it was just a plain swamp with trees and water all around!

' Huh?! What could be attacking us then?! ', Adam mumbles

He was about to tell Willliam about the situation but before he could, a sudden voice from William was heard!

" U...up, up there! the mon..monster! ", William shouted stutteredly...
