Second wave (1)

They're swift and accurate, each step is moved with thought and a decision on instinct.

The way they held their blades firm and unyielding. Their bone-like bodies embed their figures into the floor like cement at times they move their weapons to attack. These things are on another level compared to the ones at the start.

The ones at the beginning are pebbles compared to them. Just imagine what their boss is like.

Everyone's face paints white, as they watch as the boy screams for help as the skeletons rapidly sink their sword into his body. The sound of their blades cutting into his flesh is something Legion could never forget, not even from his past lives, because they all sound the same.

Each grueling stab feels like years slipping through your fingers, each second stretching into minutes of excruciating agony, until finally, death arrives.

Legion grits his teeth, just remembering his past, and how much he suffered. The times where he couldn't feel his arms from the countless time she swung his sword to fend off a beast. Or the mean times he had to endure slashes from the monsters he fought against.

And after all of that, how can he let that boy continue to suffer and die without justice? How can he feel fear at this moment after the countless times he fought such things?

I can't be scared now. I can't waver, not now, not in a place like this.

With a single firm step, he dashes forward, leaving a fading trail of bright blue light in his wake. "Don't let fright stop you from achieving." He mutters to himself as he approaches. "Don't let fright control your morals."

"You can't just head in like that!" Cinder shouts, before moving to meet him."Your core is not all the way calmed down yet!"

"I don't care!" Legion grunts, pulling back his sword and slashing down on the first skeleton he sees. But the creature jerks forward, blocking his attack just in time. "That boy..." he mumbles under his breath, lifting his burning blue eyes to meet the beast's hollow gaze. "He deserves JUSTICE!!" he roars, pressing down harder, every muscle in his arms straining as they surge into overdrive.

All I have to do is breathe and move my body and I'll survive!

The others' eyes are pinned on him, their fear draining away as they watch him. Without a second thought, they charge forward, every single one of them diving headfirst into the fight against the skeletons.

Just because of the words spoken by the masked boy.

Watching everyone join the fight, Kyree is taken aback. How can one sentence from someone like him inspire this in people? Even I want to fight, he thinks, surprised, as he finds himself stepping forward into the battle.

Backing away, Legion scans the creature up and down, searching for any weakness he can exploit. But its movements, defense, and speed are phenomenal—unlike any of the skeleton hordes he had faced before.

A perfect skeleton horde. None of them are lacking coordination and fighting techniques seem to be planted into them.

"Look out!" Cinder shouts, shoving him forward to dodge an oncoming strike from another skeleton. But the same one in front shifts its sword, angling it downward and hurling it toward the nape of his neck. Just in time, a blade pierces through the creature's head, ripping it off in one swift motion.

"You're welcome again." He says huffing, as the skeleton drops leaving its red ball like soul which rushes to the floating red orb adding the first soul inside of it.

[1% percent filled]

"Thank you." He grabs onto Kyree's held out hand, and picks himself up, yet he notices one running up behind him readying for an attack.

"Another favour-" He goes to finish off his remark, but Legion cuts him off by pulling him behind him as his sword clashes with another. "Shit. I didn't-"

"Don't have time!" Legion shouts. "When I move, attack!" He immediately twirls to the side, knocking the creature's sword away. Kyree dives in with a side swipe, splitting its body in half as another soul forms and drifts toward the orb.

Since they can coordinate to take us down, we should as well.

"From now on, we coordinate," Legion instructs firmly, leaving no room for question. "I'll make the first hit, and you follow up."

"So basically switch?" Kyree acknowledges.

"Yes." Legions affirms.

"Ok!" He nods.

"Cinder." He looks up at him. "You go help others, I won't be using any of my magic due to the help of this sword. So my core should be fine."

"Right!" He goes to fly off but stops. "Don't die."

"Promise." He winks reassuringly, then he turns to Kyree. "Ready?"

"Yes." He grips tighter onto his sword.

"We help others first then focus on the rest." Legion says scanning his eyes around, and spots someone in need of help. "There!" he motions towards the person. "All we have to do is cut through them. We need to low-"

"I have an idea." He moves his sword to his arms and slices it open, letting blood flow out. Stopping mid air, it shoots out like a bullet towards the skeleton, she's fighting, transforms into a blade and cuts into its head.

I guess he's stronger than I expected. I guess the first monster just caught him off guard.

"Ready?" He turns to Legion.

"Yeah."
