In exchange for an arm

Drayan took advantage of the mutated Shark's carelessness and activated its bodily genes, causing vines to sprout from the palm of its right hand.

The vines stretched like ropes towards the Shark, who was caught in the vines. The vines tightened around the Shark's body.

But the Saw Shark swung its body to the side, easily freeing itself from the vines tied to its body.

Drayan did this twice more and used that moment to approach the Shark.

Drayan was distracting the Shark with the vines and forcing the shark to flail around and break the vines over its body. The problem is that the Shark broke the vines very quickly.

However, every time the Shark moved, its wounds were provoked, and its organs were bruised from the inside.

Drayan was managing to damage the saw Shark's organs, without having to fight, it was a great plan, but he couldn't continue with this plan for long, as using the skill genes makes the body very tired.

When Drayan did this a fifth time, the Shark understood what Drayan was planning to do.

The shark stood still and let the vines wrap around its body. The moment the Shark did this, Drayan clenched his fists and pulled the vines towards him, and the trapped Shark was pulled.

Drayan then readied a left punch. The Shark, sensing danger, broke free of the vines before being hit and swam away from Drayan, further injuring its organs in the process.

The Shark was seriously considering fleeing, but not before kill Drayan.

The Shark swam upward 30 meters and then turned around. Using his maximum speed, he flicked his flipper swiftly, swimming towards Drayan at a frightening speed. The Shark dove to the bottom of the dark sea.

The Shark ignored all of its internal injuries, and decided to use whatever strength it had left to kill Drayan.

Drayan and the Shark sensed that the end of the fight was near. They weren't fighting to win anymore, they were fighting to see who wouldn't die before they had a winner. Both had high chances of dying, both had chances of winning.

Drayan, was losing a lot of blood, and his strength was slowly leaving his body. The Saw Shark had its organs damaged, and was losing a lot of blood, and little by little, its energy was going away.

Drayan pulled both fists to his waist and tightly clenched his right and left fists. The Shark looked at him seriously as it headed toward Drayan like a speeding meteor falling down into the sea

Unlike before, Drayan decided to put both fists together and attack.

"Aaaaaaaah!" — Drayan shouted, betting everything on this blow.

Double punch and a broken saw collided. The powerful shock wave caused an explosion on the surface of the sea, triggering a small tsunami.

The shock wave from the collision passed through Drayan and the Shark's entire body. Drayan's wounds were opened, and the Shark's organs took great damage.

But even with all that, Drayan was still at a disadvantage.

Drayan was only managing to last so long against a creature of mutant level, because of the mutant wolf's aura mode, and also, because this Shark that Drayan was facing, was a cub creature.

The cub Shark was three meters long, but a young Shark is much larger and more powerful, being able to be more than 5 meters long, and an adult can reach 14 meters. But the size would depend a lot on the species of creature, and the level of nutrients the creature was consuming.

Drayan was losing to a low level mutated hatchling creature, which was surprising.

But what made the cub Shark so strong was that Drayan was fighting the Shark in its natural habitat, and the Shark was at the height of its growth, not far from becoming a juvenile Shark. Drayan, before coming here, had a wounded body.

Drayan was losing, he could die if he continues like this.

*Why... Why is this thing so strong... It even seems like it's getting stronger with time... But I... I can't! I can not give up!*

While holding back the Shark's blow, using both of his fists, Drayan used the carnivorous plant's bodily genes, and vines grew on his arms. The vines stretched out and pointed toward the Shark's head. The spiked parts of the vines pierced the mutated Shark's eyes and the creature howled in pain.

The Shark's attack has weakened. The vines caught the Shark and pulled it back, but the Shark was too heavy. He didn't want to move and kept pushing the saw into Drayan's fists.

The Shark was giving its life in that blow, with all its rage. He was much stronger than before, and Drayan could see it. But still, Drayan sensed that it wasn't just anger, there was another reason the Shark had such strength, Drayan was sure, that something was making the Shark stronger. It was as if the Shark had a skill that made him gain more strength when he needed it.

One centimeter, one centimeter that the vines managed to pull the Shark back, Drayan took the opportunity to flee the Shark's attack area. The Shark was blind, so it didn't even notice Drayan moving.

"Aaaaaaah!" — Drayan shouted from under the water, and used a sequence of blows against the Shark's ribs.

His punches weren't strong enough to break the Shark's skin, and his blows were weaker underwater. The pressure of the water on his body made his arms feel heavy and his punches weren't very fast.

But even so, the Shark's organs that were close to its right rib, received an enormous amount of damage.

The Shark coughed up a lot of blood. Drayan proceeded to punch the shark in the ribs several times. The Shark was being viciously beaten by fierce punches.

Each punch to the Shark's skin stirred a part of the sea. Every punch had massive killing intent.

The Shark was really taken by surprise. The pain in his organs was so strong that he wasn't even able to react. The Shark couldn't think straight when he barely had time to. The Shark was rapidly losing its strength.

But anger made the Shark turn its body towards Drayan, making one last attack before dying. The Shark opened its huge mouth, and used its sharp teeth to bite Drayan's right arm.

The Shark then pulled the arm with its teeth, brutally ripping off half of Drayan's arm. Blood gushed from the arm like a fountain of water.

On pure adrenaline, Drayan didn't even notice the pain. There had been a lot of blood seeping out of the Shark's body and from his body since the start of the fight, so Drayan didn't care about more blood spilling out into the sea.

Drayan just wanted to get this over with once and for all.

Drayan used his left fist to deliver a blow to the Saw Shark's head.

*Die soon, accursed creature!*

The blow that hit the Shark in the head made him dizzy.

Several blows hit the shark's head, and finally, Drayan hit its ribs once more, making the Shark spit more blood through its mouth, and through the crevices of its body. Finally, the Saw Shark died.

*It ended...*

That was Drayan's thought when he saw that the Shark's body did not move anymore.

Drayan then went to try to swim with both arms, however, he realized that half of his right arm was missing and his bone was coming out.

Desperation took over his heart. Under the sea, Drayan screamed in pain. But her scream was being drowned out by the sea. If fish can hear, only fish have heard her purest cry of pain.

Drayan screamed once, twice, three times. The blood that came out of his arm, joined with the sea, turning a part of the sea red.

Drayan was pale, he no longer had the strength to swim. As his last resort of survival, he disabled his aura mode and summoned Darkening to save him.

Drayan's body began to sink into the darkness, while the Shark's body, belly up, rose to the surface.

*Am I really going to die... Here? How pathetic. And I even made a promise that I would become the strongest in the world... I'm just a liar...*

Drayan closed his eyes, accepting his death, however, the wolf that had been summoned, used its mouth to bite the sleeve of Drayan's shirt, and pulled Drayan's body up.

Darkening pulled Drayan's body to the surface, and carried his body to the sea sand. Drayan spat out the salty water that was stored in his lungs, and took a deep breath. Drayan was grateful that oxygen existed.

He had been under the water for less than three minutes, however, he had moved his body a lot, and he was quite tired. After all, fighting without breathing left Drayan very exhausted.

Darkening reached for the Shark's body, and with a lot of willpower, he brought the Saw Shark close to Drayan. Drayan notice Darkening's intent, but Drayan didn't have the strength to eat the tough Shark meat in his current condition.

Darkening didn't want to give up on his master, so he pulled Drayan by the sleeve of his shirt, and made Drayan stand close to the Shark's open mouth.

*Does he want me to use my tongue to lick the blood inside the Shark's mouth?*

Drayan had no choice. He used what little energy was left in his body, to put his head in the Shark's mouth and licked the Shark's teeth that had mutated blood.

Only after licking the blood from his teeth and tongue did Drayan gather the Shark nutrients he had in his blood to strengthen his entire body and manage to stand.

*Worth it?*

He looked at his right arm oozing blood, and at the mutated Shark. Losing an arm in exchange for a mutated creature.

He knew that he would definitely get the mutant-level nutrients, and since the Shark was quite large, the Shark's meat would be enough to evolve his body to a new stage of power. But still, he was missing an arm, and it was still his right arm.

He didn't even know if it was possible to restore the arm again. He knows that creatures have power of regeneration. When Drayan evolved his cells and acquired an evolved body, he gained the ability to fully recover from injuries, even if it took time. His body also had the ability to repair broken bones.

But his high-level evolved body clearly couldn't regrow an arm.

All that was left for him was either to live forever without an arm, or to have a modified or mutated level body, so that he could get his arm back.

He brought the Shark's body with the help of Darkening, to the White House. Arriving there, Drayan wanted to sleep a lot, he needed to rest. But before that, he gave the order to Darkening to protect the mutated Shark's body from other creatures.

Drayan would normally have trouble sleeping because of the pain in his body, but his mind was exhausted. Drayan closed his eyes, and slept through the night.

He had a big dream, in which he ate delicious Shark meat. He couldn't help but salivate in his sleep.
