The whole world was waiting for the game to be released. Noah entered [High-Heaven Online] and chose the [Priest] class to earn money that he needed desperately. It seemed luck was on Noah's side. He found(stole) a legendary Priest class on the first day of the game's release. The class banned Noah from using any attack skills, but Noah wasn't worried. Why would he need attack skills as a healer? The answer came after Noah was reincarnated inside the game — Healing skills doesn't matter when your enemies can kill you with one hit. Reincarnated inside the game as an [NPC Player] who is trapped in the hellish difficulty dungeon, Noah would soon realize that strength came in many ways and he doesn't need attack skills to attack. .... Years later, the whole world was talking about Noah. Was he an NPC? Or was he a Player? Why did he have the highest DPS when he was a Priest? What kind of Priest class needed to beat the injured to heal them!? The day Noah received his legendary class was the day when his legend began. The legend of [The Strongest Heretic Priest]. . *** Credits to @syla for the amazing cover. *** Tags: #Action #Yandere Female Lead #VR #Overpowered Protagonist #Genius Protagonist #Comedy #Legendary Class #Rutheless Protagonist #Adventure #Video Games #Myths #Gods #Mysterious Past #Cautious Protagonist
Noah didn't believe Hepius' words, but decided to go along with it for now.
If he was the creator of the legendary grade class, he must be extraordinary. "What should I do?"
Hepius scoffed at his blatant reluctant attitude. {Before that I shall teach thee how to stand under 2x Gravity.}
His words confused Noah. Was that possible without increasing stats?
{Circulate Divinity inside thyself. Presently, thy mortal vessel lacks mana nerves, thus employing thy very blood as a substitute is a better choice.}
Noah followed his words. Gritting his teeth, he tried to stand, "Wh-what does Divinity have to do with mana nerves?"
Hepius was floating around Noah while instructing him.
He explained, {'Tis a common misconception to perceive mana and divinity as distinct energies, but that is erroneous. Divinity is naught but mana in an exceedingly compressed state. If mana be likened unto 'air,' then divinity is akin to 'liquid.' Thus, the nerves through which thou shalt channel these energies within thy frame are aptly termed mana nerves.}
"Huff! But can't Divinity be used for only healing? Huff! Huff! While mana can be used for attacking, defending, healing, and much more?"
{Aye, a commendable query, yet it delves into an advanced realm that is unsuited for thine present comprehension. We shall discuss it later.}
As Noah tried to stand against the intense gravity, sweat poured down his body like a waterfall.
A nasty smile appeared on Hepius' face.
He thought 'Even talented priests will take a month to circulate divinity with such crude technique. Blood is a better conductor, however, divinity is much thicker than mana and it cancels the advantage.
'Of course, there are easier methods but… Hehehe You dare attack me brat? I'll let you suffer for a few hours before teaching you correctly… huh?!'
Hepius' eyes widened.
At the same time, Noah spoke "Huff! Huff! I got it. I can now stand."
{O-Of course, I'm the one teaching thou after all. The true training commences henceforth. Begin by circulating the Divinity within thyself, while briskly running around the platform.}
Hepius sweated. 'How high is his talent!? He didn't even take 5 minutes! Wait, could it be…'
{Brat, if we were to compare the quality of thine own blood to that of the nagas, how would thou rate it on a scale of 1 to 10?}
"Huff! Huff! My would be… 6, nagas would be 4, as… for Cerberus, it would be 8. Huff! Huff!"
{Very well, then. Draw forth thy sword and engage in combat as if thou art locked in a fierce battle against a formidable Naga adversary.}
Everything Noah had on himself was also brought inside the Training Chamber. That also included weapons.
"Phantom Spar?" asked Noah.
It was a high-level technique of creating a virtual enemy with your mind and fighting it. This was Noah's first time using this particular technique, but he was able to use it on the first attempt.
'His blood probably became enchanted blood when his race evolved, making it a high quality conductor of divinity. As for Phantom Spar, it should be due to his vast experience of fighting endless enemies. But to be able to do such difficult techniques on his first attempt, is it merely overlapping coincidences or is he… a Genius?'
Hepius made his decision. He spoke. {Brat, halt.}
Hearing him, Noah stopped and wiped his sweat. He had adjusted to 2x gravity almost completely. However, doing this was eating through his Divinity and Stamina reserves.
{Increase the Training Chamber level }
"Why?"
{Cease thy incessant inquiries, thou dim-witted disciple. 'Tis due to thy abysmal learning capacity that we face such predicaments. At this rate, even the span of a month shall prove insufficient. We must break your Level Limiter before we can proceed with earnest training.}
Noah's level had stagnated at Level 10, even though he had enough exp to level up several times. He had been hoping for a breakthrough. So, it came as a surprise that Hepius knew of the method.
He followed Hepius' advice.
[ Would you like to Upgrade Training Chamber to level 2? Cost: 20,000 Exp. Unlocks Environment Simulation and 4x Gravity Simulation ]
[ Yes/No ]
Noah almost puked blood at the price. His finger shook when he clicked at yes.
"Wait. How much Exp do I have? Sta–"
{Don't check it yet. Until thy training ends, don't look at thy status.}
"..."
Noah stared at Hepius. As both of them refused to go down, the duo were locked in a gazing contest.
The first one to back off was Hepius {Sigh, do as I say, damned brat.}
Noah clicked his tongue and, ultimately, agreed.
[ Training Chamber Level 2 Unlocked ]
[ Available Environment Simulation: Tsunami, Desert, Frozen Forest ]
{Choose Tsunami} Hepius advised
[ Tsunami Simulation will begin ]
The white space started changing with the smallest pixel.
Noah was now standing on the deck of a sailing boat under a thunderstorm. Lighting occasionally streaked across the ocean floor, under the dark night.
Thankfully, Noah's vision had improved by leaps and bounds when he became a vampire, so this much darkness was of no problem to him.
"Whoa"
The deck shook as a giant wave crashed into the ship, almost throwing Noah into the sea.
{Before we commence, go to the most unstable location on the ship.}
Noah's smile stiffened at those words. He was barely standing straight on the deck with a support.
The most unstable position? He would be thrown into the sea in under a minute!
However, Hepius wasn't smiling. Noah sighed as he understood his intentions, 'I should stop nitpicking.'
He jumped over the mast using the wooden planks and landed on the platform on the top of the mast. From here, he could see every corner of the ship easily.
{Supply Divinity to the bottom of thy feet and spin it while attaching it to the sole.}
Hepius landed on the wooden platform and attacked Noah.
"Hey! Weren't we going to break my level cap, but what are we doing now!?"
Noah didn't need to dodge Hepius as he wasn't attacking his soul. But it was clear that Hepius wanted Noah to act as if he could touch him.
{Indeed, I shall comply, but only when thou hast reached the level of a mere grasshopper. For at present, thou art not even worthy of being likened to a lowly fungus.}
Due to the rocky ship, Noah's footing was unstable and he was having a hard time dodging.
As soon as Noah could circulate Divinity to the sole of his feet, his balance increased greatly. Right on cue, Hepius' speed increased and his attacks became fiercer.
{That's 'Stable Foot', a skill to stick to any surface without falling off. In battles, the crucial aspect lies not in thy strength or speed, but in thy stance. The moment thy stance falls, thou shall be at the mercy of thy opponent.}
Hepius swept his feet below Noah, catching him by surprise. {Thou are dead.}
Noah was breathing heavily under the thunderstorm.
Maintaining balance on this mast platform was hard as it was. However, he also had to channel Divinity to the sole of his feet.
Contrary to pushing Divinity all over his body, coating only a single part in Divinity was much harder.
The first method was easier. But in the long run, the 2nd method was incomparably better. It wasted less Divinity while decreasing the load on Noah's mind, allowing him to focus more on the ongoing battle.
Losing to Hepius so easily made Noah realize: He was a sore loser.
"Again." Noah jumped to his feet.
He was going to beat Hepius, no matter what it took.
As Noah's enthusiasm flared, Hepius also grinned
{Aye, that is the spirit! In that case, shall we wager? If thou art able to land a single strike upon me before the passing of three days, I shall bestow upon thee my personal technique for breaking the level cap.}
"How good is that technique?"
{Enough to put all of thy previous skills to shame.}
Bam!
Noah kicked the ground and attacked Hepius. "Don't cry when you lose."
