14 Anger (1)

Anne was furrowing her brows as she heard Connor's question. Truthfully she did not know how to answer that question.

Where should she begin?

Was she supposed to tell Connor everything?

She was having some difficulties sharing what happened as this was something that hurt her badly. It was as if she was trying to re-open her wound while stabbing her heart with a knife.

It was that painful, that's why she would rather forget, but it was Connor who asked her a question, she knew he asked because he cared. But it was still hard for her, she did not know how to start or how to retell it.

How could she?

Once she tells him everything, it's like baring her soul to another person. She did not know if she would be able to or if she even wanted to.

She was glad that Connor did not ask again. She did not know if she'll be able to control her emotions that only started to subside. Maybe she'll be able to talk to someone else about it in the future, but not right now.

Waiting for a couple of minutes of silence, she heaved a sigh of relief before walking with a cup of tea for Connor. She put down the tea without making eye contact and went back to get a cup for her and some biscuits.

She sat across Connor, she tried peeking at his face to see if he was still curious. She was trying to find a hint if he wanted to continue the discussion. She was planning to discuss something else if that was the case, but looking at him it seems he was not as curious as she had thought.

Anne decided to have a small talk between the two of them.

"How have you been?" Asked Anne. She wanted to act natural, as though nothing happened.

Connor saw Anne's face and decided to follow suit. "It was better not to rush things," he thought.

"I'm fine."

"I thought you'd be busy with the current of expansion of your business in the international market," Anne asked curiously.

How could she not be curious? Connor's business was deeply involved with fashion and cosmetics. She even modeled for some of their products, they currently the leading brand in the country.

"I am…" He paused for a bit as though he was thinking about the next words he should say before he continued. "But I wanted to check up on you."

Anne knew what those words meant, all she could do was look away from Connor's gaze and continue drinking the tea she was holding. She did not want to add meaning to his kindness, but she felt that there was a deeper meaning behind his words.
