Mission Impossible: Love Is Possible

A girl sat on a small dining table as she lazily ate the last piece of bread. It indicated the end of one of her daily chore 'eating breakfast'. The kitchen was simple with only the required furnishing consisting of a kitchen table, a gas stove and a water guard. The only extravagant thing was the table which was unnecessary for her as she lived alone.

Picking up the plate and spoon she went to the basin and washed them. After drying the dishes with a grey towel she headed towards her room to get dressed for her work. Her bedroom was as simple and normal as the woman herself.

It consisted of a single bed, a study table probably from the time when she was a student and a wardrobe that had a mirror attached to it. It was the only mirror in the house excluding the one in bathroom.

She never had any trouble choosing what to wear because it really didn't matter what she wore as long as it was comfortable and wearable. She picked out a plain white cotton shirt and a gray pant to go with it.

It was raining lightly outside and whole atmosphere was gloomy and cold so she took out a thin navy dark coat. She normally loved to wear heels but considering the rain she sighed heavily as she chose a pair of sneaker from a drawer.

She wasn't that much of an attractive beauty at a glance but her face had best features especially her mole beneath her right left eye which looked mysterious and had its own story to share.

The only makeup she wore was a lotion and a light pink lip balm that made her look soft and whole person gave a very fresh feeling even to people looking at her. She never worked out but she had a nice built, neither too tall and fat nor too thin and short.

As she was changing her dress she felt a sharp gaze of someone at her back. She turned behind only to notice her empty room and air.

"Might be an illusion", she murmured softly as she finished dressing up. She checked her watch. She was just in time for catching the bus to her workplace. After carrying her handbag that contained the files for her recent project and an umbrella she walked out of her rented room locking the door securely behind her.

There were three other people waiting for the elevator. As she was waiting for the elevator she tied her shoelace which came undone. She was tying it when the door opened and a deliveryman came out but she was too busy entering the elevator she didn't notice anything unusual. She checked her watch. It was 9 am.

"Ms. Choi, report to the department head.", a voice rang out in the silent office where the only sound was tapping of keyboard and clicking of mouse with occasional sound of telephone ringing in the PR department.

She saved whatever she was doing and raised herself from the chair. Carrying the file she entered the room of the head. A few girls shot their glance towards her anger and jealousy clearly showing in them.

Whether she was unaware of those glances or she ignored them even after noticing them, regardless she walked into the room with the same composure and aloofness.

After knocking thrice she said, "I'm here to report sir."

"Enter", a strong voice sounded from inside and she walked inside after getting permission.

A man clad in white fitting shirt and a gray pant sat there with a charmingly devilish face. People might would have mistaken them for couple if he was wearing a navy dark coat like her. He looked at her enthusiastically and complimented her look, "You look beautiful today."

"You look good as well sir." She calmly replied.

Seeing her face showing no reaction to his compliment he felt quite unpleasant somewhere inside. This woman was the weirdest and different one he had ever met. Normally common ordinary woman such as herself used to fall for him no matter where he went and even getting a compliment from him used to send them in cloud nine except this mystery in front of him.

'Still no luck today', he sighed as he thought. Then he got all serious as he asked her to hand over the file and material she had prepared. After looking through the proposal he was satisfied. "Good job Ms. Choi."

"Thank you sir", she replied like a programmed machine. 'Shit she doesn't even show a little smile when being sincerely praised.' He shook his head slightly.

"Is it okay for me to leave, sir?" her voice suddenly broke his thought and he hurriedly replied, "Sure. You can go back and continue your work."

As she was about to open the door he called her again, "Ms. Choi, if you are free can I invite you out to a dinner after work." He added, "My treat" with a smile.

Although she didn't express herself much there is no way she couldn't understand he was hitting on her. He wasn't bad except he was a famous playboy and al her female colleagues had a crush on him so she might only get in unnecessary trouble so she decided to politely decline his offer. Plus she never had any kind of wish to be in a relation or get in romantic association with anyone. It looked troublesome to have someone else infiltrate your space and emotions.

"Sorry but I have something important to do today."

"Important?? Is something wrong?"

"No I can handle it myself."

"You sure it's ok?"

Seeing that he was prying too much she decided to say an excuse and get over with it.

"It's just that my cat is sick. I need to take care of it." If you will excuse me…"

"Can't help it then." Although he showed a considerate smile, inside he was jealous of the cat.

'I'm not even as alluring as the cat huh…' lines of depression could be seen on his forehead if only she had turned back once but she excused herself as soon as possible.

1 : 00 pm

It was time for lunch but because it was raining outside everyone decided to get a takeout. When she went to the break room to get a cup of coffee for herself she overheard some female talking about her.

"Just who does she think she is acting high and mighty in front of us just because Mr. Kang Jihun shows her some attention?"

"Humph….I know right that gloomy bitch is so old fashioned. I believe he is just trying to play joke on that old lady." A 25 year old woman with a dark lipstick added smacking her lips. Remaining two three girls also expressed their agreement with her.

She really didn't care about these insults for she was used to people mouthing off bad about her since her school days. She was numb to these things. She walked inside with calm face, made herself a cup of coffee and walked out of door. As for the group of woman there she treated them as shit. If you go to play with it will only stink.

They thought she might fight back and they might have a chance to drag her image down but she instead treated them as air.

( You guys were treated as shit. Don't think too much of yourself.)

Since it was work hour they decided not to make any scene in case their lovely Mr. Kang got in trouble with the higher ups.

After working for a whole of 3 hours after a lunch it was finally time to call it a day. The woman got up without any delay and carrying her belongings walked out before anyone else.

4 : 30 pm

When she reached the door of her room a parcel addressed was waiting for her. That morning she had seen a deliveryman but she hadn't expected it was for her. She had no friends she was close enough to receive a parcel and as for relatives they were all good as dead. She also hadn't purchased something online so she was really curious and on guard regarding the parcel thinking it might be a prank on her. She was even more on guard when there was no name of the sender.

As she was wondering whether to pick it up or throw it she felt the same sensation like someone was watching her every action. She shuddered at the thought but again shrugged it off as just her imagination.

'I might as well look inside it after all I have nothing to lose.' She made up her mind and carried it inside her apartment closing the door behind her.

Looking at this scene a figure broke out in a grin as it commanded in a cold and deep voice, "Get ready to start the operation."

"Yes, Master."
