Its showtime: The Finale

The seventh day.

It was exactly a week since the disappearance of the tribe chief. Rubia had the authority over the wolf tribe but she could not do that forever. Everyone decided that it was time to finally choose a new tribe leader. After a long negotiation they handed over the authority of the soldiers to Rubia.

"Since I am the one who trained them, I should still get chance to handle and mobilize them." Rubia scoffed when Max asked her why she wanted the soldiers.

According to their tradition and law being the strongest was the main qualification required but it was not limited to only that. That would come later but let's focus on the present selection that was going on.

The candidates who had taken part in the selection had to first fight with each other and the top three will advance to the next round of selection. It was unlike any tournament or game. The chief was representation of wolf deities . They dared not take this as a simple game.

It was a sacred ritual.

Rubia sat on her seat and gave order to begin the ceremony. The five elders of the village sprinkled a blessed oil on the top of their heads and formally started the matches.

"Candidates please enter." Max for some reason became the one to host the matches in a fair manner since he was the only different creature there.

Two big and muscular wolf men entered the ring. One of them was carrying a heavy axe while other held a strong shield which looked impenetrable but no other offense item.

The first wolf laughed. "Only a shield,,Hah,,this match is as good as over."

Max had already seen the outcome of match but still started the fight.

"Start"

The first wolf man changed his lower half, his limbs to a wolf providing him extra agility and flexibility. "Diee…." He slammed his axe on the top of other wolf.

"Goodbye." The wolf with the shield smirked. "What??" The wolf looked in horror as his axe cracked and crumbled into a pile of useless wood and metal. With a punch aimed right at the gut, the second wolf blasted him away.

"The winner is Ryan." Max declared the winner.

The wolf who was thrown some meters away from the ring struggled to open his mouth. "H-How…I…wa-as goi-in-ng to wi" Before he could complete hi sentence he fainted.

'If only you had assessed your opponent's strength there was a slight chance for you to win but who am I to talk anyway." Max went forward with the match.

"Start."

Both of the wolf men were swordsman in the second match. Both were swift and flawless on their sword skill but sometimes skill alone did not determine the outcome. Luck played a big part as well.

"The winner is Trev." Max declared.

"You area worthy opponent." Trev extended his hand to help up the beast man who had fell flat on his butt.

"Yes, you too." Without feeling down he took the offered hand and gave a pat on the back of the wolf man. "I will be cheering for you."

Such an amazing brotherhood even among human was rare. Max sighed calling forward another pair of opponents. Both of them seemed to be empty handed.

"You can't leave to take weapons after the match starts. Are you clear?" Max reminded them to which both of them nodded showing their acknowledgement.

"Start."

As soon as the match started one of them directly launched an ice attack throwing ice spikes at the next wolf man.

The whole crowd gasped in surprise since magic wielders in wolf tribe such as theirs was a rare case. Max also looked forward to this match. Everyone focused their gaze on the next person waiting for his response. A wall of fire appeared before him melting the ice.

"Whoaaa.." Even Max couldn't help but gasp. Fights using magic was rare since mana consumption took a toll on the body. He wanted to see how long will they hold on.

"But fire and ice…a really interesting combo indeed."

The ice magic user still kept on throwing the ice spikes whether he hit or miss. He did this until he had done a complete circle around him.

"Now its my turn."

The beast man wielding fire type magic launched forward with a fiery fist. "Bingo." The ice type magic wielding beast man smirked. Noticing something was wrong he tried to stop his fist but…

"Too late.." The ice magic user chanted a spell. "Come forth the spirits of the winter,"

Snowflakes appeared surrounding the fire user who even when he covered himself in a thick barrier of fire still froze.

"The winner is Yuri." Max declared totally impressed. Yuri collapsed on the ground, his legs trembling. "Damn, I used up too much Mana."

"Hahahahah….good really good. Reminds me of how you outwitted me that day…" a voice laughed which was soon interrupted by another cold voice.

"Shut up and just watch the show." There was no emotion in the voice but a little sadness could be felt from her words.

"You too..shhh" A cute innocent fuzz ball was scolded even when it did nothing wrong.

On another dimension far away…

"When are you taking me back to my sister?" Daphne pulled the sleeve of the coat Beth was wearing. She had regained her rosy cheeks and plump lips. The light had returned in her eye.

It was the hundred plus time she had asked him the same question.

"I do not know miss." Beth replied as he wiped the desk.

"Then why did you bring me here?" Daphne asked as she played with the frizzles of the maid outfit she was wearing.

"I did not bring you here miss." Beth replied again.

"Umm okay,,,then when are you taking me back to my sister?" Daphne repeated her question once again.

"Please I beg you, leave me alone…hmmm? I took care of you for so long..please have mercy." Beth was on verge of tears. That was the moment he realized he was not meant for babysitting.

"Then answer me first." Daphne shamelessly threatened the man.

"Wait till my master comes." Beth decided to tell her the truth.

"You are not the master here?" Daphne looked at him wide eyed.

"No I am not." Beth gave her are you seriously kidding look and turned back to his chore.

"I thought you were the boss considering how less you work." Daphne wiped the edge of the desk and poofed some dust. "Even your work is sloppy."

"So you were slacking off?"

"No I was not….wait??" Beth turned around when he heard the familiar voice. "Master, is that really you?" Beth could not contain the joy in his voice as he ran over to his master.

Daphne could not sense his presence before but now she was trembling all over when she experienced the aura as dense as that of Lord Beast himself.

"Stay away…" She walked backwards trying to get away as much as possible, Beth looked at terrified Daphne and understood what was going on. She probably had a trauma related to some one like his master.

"Daphne you go to you room, I will see you later." Beth urged her to go away and she was more than happy to oblige.

"How long did you cultivate?? I think you are back a little too soon." Beth asked Damian helping him to take off his cloak.

"Around 50 months." Damian changed his outer cloak.

(*The time in different dimension flowed differently....1 week there was around 50 months where Damian had been.)

"Bring that fox girl...we are going to the beast kingdom Delerio."

"Huh??? Isn't it too sudden??" Beth who was folding the dress stopped. He had hoped his master would rest first. "Is it that important?" Beth pointed to the room of Daphne.

"I can't sense it." There was urgency in his voice. Damian clenches his fist in a tight ball.

"What master??" Beth asked oblivious.

"The chosen one... Her presence, I cant sense it." Damian explained with difficulty evident in his voice.

"Its there but I can't seem to locate it..Its mixed with something else, something pure evil." Damian himself was lost on what was going on.

Beth had been taking care of Daphne so he was unaware of all this. Given such a massive news at once he froze.

"Huh?"

"Stop staring and get ready." Damian looked at Beth who soon got out of his thoughts.

"Sure master." Beth walked away and knocked at her door.

"Daphne??You in there?"

The door half opened slowly before answering him. "What is it?" She asked afraid while she felt the lingering energy in the atmosphere.

"I have news for you. You are finally going home so come on out." Beth pulled the young fox girl by her hand.

Before she could process the news and be happy she was already in a teleportation circle with a horn man and a man in suit who wore a long hat and carried a cane while she was dressed in a maid outfit. They looked like a circus trio when grouped together.

Within a blink of eye they arrived at the outskirts of the kingdom of beast.

"He is finally here." Lord Kennedy drank the last drop from his glass and stood. He sensed the spirit energy of Damian, the one and only horned guardian of dimension.

"Its show time." He smirked.

"My lord??" His butler looked at him dumbstruck. What new nonsense his master was going to do??

"The finale is here, to decide the end of old era and begin a new era for beasts."

I was not going to write but I could not stop...hehe..sorry here is the update....
