Chapter 10: ID's

"I need your id and seeing your pet you will need to show me the magic beast id too." The beast folk guard spoke with his monotonous tone while giving a quick glance to Muwi, but losing interest the next second.

John smiled and responded with a friendly tone: "I and my companion have lived by ourselves until now after my parents passed away, so i would like to register please."

His words made the guard roll his eyes and say sarcastically: "Yeah, you lived alone until your age without ever registering on the kingdom, what a new situation." His tone and empathic face showed no care.

"It's true sir, i never stepped foot near a city of this kingdom until today." John responded while the guard ignored him and called a coworker, telling him something before the other human male ran to a door near the gate.

The gurd turned to face John again and said: "Wait here, we will see if you're saying the truth." His eyes sharpened suddenly before he spoke once more: "If you're lying we will capture you."

The warning didn't faze John who knew that he didn't lie, he just came to this world yesterday, how is it possible that he already came near a city?

A minute later the same man of before came back with a device in hand, he placed it down and stood by while looking at John ready for any sudden movements.

The humanoid dog guard pointed at the device that had a transparent orb floating on top of it and said: "Place your hand there." John didn't waste time and did just that.

Placing his blocky hand on the circular orb he looked at the guard who asked a simple question: "Were you lying before?"

John with firmness on his tone responded with a clear and simple: "No." And immediately felt the orb on his hand glow and turn green.

The guard looked at John strangely and said: "How did you stay far from civilization until now, you're weird." John got trown off by the guard remark who continued: "Are you a criminal?" He asked again.

"No."

Green

"A monster?"

"No."

Green

"A human?"

"Yes."

The gurad nodded satisfied and said: "You can remove your hand and follow my colleague, hurry up and get out of here I'm busy." He said the first part neutrally but then it seemed that he got tired of speaking and got irritated.

'What a weird fellow.' John and Muwi both thought at the same time while following the human guard who led them to the same door of before.

They walked inside and they were led to a room where the guard took two sheets from two different piles and gave them to John alongside a quill.

"Can you read and write?" He asked while placing the items on the table where John grabbed a sheet and looked at it, surprisingly he could understand what was written on it even through he never saw this language.

"Yes i can." John response made the guard nod in satisfaction and take a seat waiting patiently, he was glad that he didn't need to help John for every single question.

John immediately begun to read and compile everything while Muwi jumped on his head while becoming smaller and lighter, he took a comfortable position and relaxed himself.

The questions on the two sheets were simple, they asked John and Muwi's name, their race, age, sex, and other unimportant details.

It took John five minutes to do everything and give the two sheets to the guard who placed the two items on a special table that transformed the two itms into two IDs.

He grabbed them and gave them to John who observed them, the two IDs are white with black writings, only the most important info was written.

"Now you can enter the city, but remember that these are only temporary IDs and you need to go to the central office to complete the procedure, you have 7 days before they expire." The guard said and explained some basic knowledge to John.

John nodded: "Okay, thank you." After setting everything necessary the human and the fox got access to the city and after walking out of the gate they were immediately assaulted by the loud and vibrant noise of the locals.

Stalls, homes and various buildings were everywhere on sight, the pedestrians walked on the streets along with various carriages and mounts.

There were many races around with various ethnicities, there was even an Moroccan looking elf! and with the blocky appearance of everyone, John stood there to enjoy the view for some time.

{A/N: I love to include many ethnicities on my stories, something that not many authors on this site do, i always see the classic Chinese, Korean, japanese, indian and american ethnicities, like only them exist.}

Muwi smelled a good scent and nudged John who looked at him: "John, i want that meat." The fox said while pointing at a stall were a villager was selling meat while shouting around.

"Come and taste my special marinated buffalo meat! Buy one and get another for free!!" His big nise moved around while he continued to call for customers.

John looked at the meat and responded: "Man, I don't have money." Muwi's ears deflated in sadness while his face fell, John rolled his eyes ad said: "You're a grown ass man trying to look cute, weird ass motherfucker."

Muwi frowned and retorted: "I'm only ten! And at least I'm not broke as fuck!" His response drew some attention from the nearby humanoids who looked at the Miwu i shock.

"The fox.. can talk!" An elf exclaimed while the others came near Muwi, a woman tried to pet him but the fox gave her a glare causing her to frighten and distance herself.

John ignored the others and walked towards the stall while whispering: "We are broke but we can steal." His words made the fox smirk and the two came near the stall and when the owner was busy talking to a lady, John simply moved his hand quickly and tapped two steaks, storing them into the inventory without attracting attention.

The two walked away naturally after succeeding in their theft, they looked at each other smugly and laughed.

"So this is the central office eh.." After asking around about the location of their destination the two walked towards the center of the city and near the inner area, the central office stood in his glory.

"What an ugly architecture." John stated while looking at this building, he was rich on his previous life so he visited many wonders of the world, including majestic buildings, so his sense of architecture is higher than those of this world.

"Who cares about that, let's go." Muwi urged John since he wated to 'buy' another steak, John shook his head and walked inside.
