Chapter 119 The Order of Balance History Pt 2

"All throughout history you will find Symbols of the eagle in powerful civilizations that ruled some part of the world, in ancient Egypt the sun god Horus was believed to have the head of a falcon, however some reports also say it's the head of an eagle." 

"In Greece Zeus and Rome Jupiter were believed to be represented by the eagle as the god of the sky they where believed to be worshiped as the same god just with different names since two Greek brothers Romulus and Remus escaped Greece and founded Rome." 

"Also, in Ancient Rome the Eagle symbol was used as the standard for the Roman legion." 

"Some ancient Germanic tribes associated the eagle with Odin the leader of the gods from Norse mythology." 

"Judeo-Christian scriptures praise the eagle with this quote from Isaiah 40:31: "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." 

"In Christian art St John is represented by the eagle." 

"Even today there are eight countries with the eagle as there national bird and eleven countries that have the eagle on the national flag including the United States where it is also on the 'Great Seal of the United States'." 

"All throughout history the eagle has appeared in civilization as a symbol to represent many different things such as honesty, truth, majesty, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom or growth, rebirth, and transformation." 

"This is no coincidence as since its founding 'The Order of Balance' has kept watch behind the scenes when these nations where founded to make sure balance is maintained." 

As there was a pause while Karen took her moment to catch her breath Michael thought of something. 

"Wait didn't the Nazi's use the eagle as a symbol." 

"Damn realist faction." They headed Karen curse before she spoke. 

"Every country, religion, faction, society whatever it is has its problems when there are multiple people that are a part of something that's because there will always be opposing opinions and maybe conflict." 

"The Order of Balance is no exception to this rule, there are two factions in our society, one they believe in Kaleisha and the legends that she chose 'The First King of Balance' these people are known as the Faithful and I the Head Priestess lead the faithful." 

"The other faction is called the Realists and they do not believe in the history of Kaleisha, and these people generally seek more power for themselves which is hypocritical seeing as their part of something with balance in the name." 

"Anyway, just after Germany lost in World War One the realist faction was gaining a lot of momentum and its numbers in our society far exceeded that of the faithful." 

"Recognizing an opportunity the leader of the realists at the time decided to use this chance to try to use Germany so he could rule the world through one of his factions' members Adolf Hitler." 

"Wait you people did have something to do with the Second World War?" Michael asked shocked 

"Correction, a faction of us did not all of us." Karen replied before continuing 

"So as is common knowledge nowadays the German Reich or better known as Nazi Germany was more advanced than the allied nations by the time the Second World War came about, this is partially down to the fact that the realist faction allowed Hitler to use technology the society had been researching for the betterment of mankind." 

"What is not known is the realist faction's actions of dictating Germany and its allies from behind the scenes nor the fact that the faithful were aiding the allied nations." 

"So, what you're saying is World War Two was your private faction war that just happened to encompass the entire world?" Michael said coldly in an accusing tone. 

"No, while it's true those realist idiots did lead Germany from behind the scenes, our faithful faction had a more hands-off approach and only involved ourselves if and when the allied nations asked for it." 

"Direct involvement in the world is not something we should ever do unless the balance is going to be broken, we should only stay in the shadows and nudge or correct things as they start to effect said balance." 

"What exactly is your role then? I mean it's to maintain the world's balance but what exactly is that?" Michael decided to ask. 

"Allow me to answer this question." Sam spoke up before continuing. 

"The original purpose 'The Order of Balance' was created for by the wives of 'The First King' was to work in secret to prevent corruption by the rich and powerful from reappearing in Mesopotamia after they had all died." 

"You see while they were able to remove most if not all corruption while 'The First King' and his wives who held all the power at that time were still alive, they knew that once they passed away this would no longer be the case and so they created 'The Order of Balance'." 

"However, no civilization lasts forever and eventually Mesopotamia was incorporated into the Persian empire when Babylon fell, and from there the remaining members of the order were told to spread out across the lands so the order would remain secret." 

"Eventually after many generations our people spread across most of the world, however they still carried out their role of stopping corruption where they could or helping to prevent corruption on the creation of new nations, which is a primary reason why the eagle symbol appears in so many cultures." 

"Unfortunately, as time and technology advanced people's beliefs waned and by the time of the Industrial Revolution people's belief and reliability on religion which the society had used to help maintain balance till now was at an all-time low." 

"Of course, people still went to church or there are still true believers even today in whichever religion they believe in. 

"People who in ancient times saw science as magic now know its not really magic an has a scientific explanation, we as a society tried to move with the times to keep the corruption to a minimum but as you yourself have seen from been a subject of corruption against you when you were young we have been progressing so well."
