Chapter 3

*swish* *rumble* *crack*

An old man with knee-length beard and long eyebrows was floating in air with his bare chest, which showcased several scars onto it that were accumulated over the years, his aura leaking which made the ground cracked while gusts of wind flew in all directions.

He looked calm and serene, hovering in the air. He turned his body to the side dodging a punch. A black haired, blue eyed man stood with his back in front of him, soon the two moved at intense speed exchanging punches and kicks.

The two clashed their arms with each other, staring in each other's eyes.

"Get ready to get your ass kicked today, gramps" the black haired kid said.

Old man replied by, partially opening his eyes, releasing an intense pressure around the place making the ground shake slightly, the black haired kid seemed like he was used to it as he released his own spiritual energy while his eyes turned crimson red. He grinned showing his fangs while his muscles tensed.

Soon the two made their final move…

*boom!*

A loud explosion went off, destroying everything in a radius of 500m. As the strong gusts of wind and sand settled…

The old man could be seen with a small smile on his face while a blade rested on his neck. The blade pulled back as it transformed back into an arm. The black haired kid shook his hand as he looked at the old man, grinning he said "I win gramps"

"Not bad Ritsuka, you have improved far too much in this short span of time we have been training… I am truly impressed" Old man said as he dusted his body, walking towards their house.

"Tch… more like you kicking my butt" Ritsuka said following behind him.

***

That's right the two were none other than Old man Yamamoto and Ritsuka. Another year and 2 months had passed since the day the two celebrated their birthday for the first time.

Over this timespan the two would train by having their sparring sessions. It was also during this year did they found out Ritsuka's copy quirk had unconsciously copied the demon's quirk. It happened during one of their sparring sessions when Ritsuka unconsciously turned his arm into a shield to protect himself. Though he was creeped out by it for a while, he soon got used to it.

While Gramps believed the reason for it was Ritsuka's copy but Ritsuka had other thoughts. Ever since his training started, Ritsuka had realised his body was adapting to his powers and strength much faster, he wasn't sure exactly but felt like it was connected to his transmigration.

The two soon entered the house, freshening up they finished their lunch after that Ritsuka passed one tea cup to Gramps while taking one.

As they went on with their daily routine.

Another few months passed by as it had been a total of 3 years since Ritsuka started living with Old man Yamamoto, his Gramps.

Currently the two stood in the backyard as Ritsuka looked at his Gramps in confusion.

"So what is it you want to talk about, Gramps?"

"…*sigh*… here take this Ritsuka" saying Gramps threw a wooden badge towards Ritsuka, who caught it and looked at it in confusion, he could feel his Gramps spiritual energy in it.

"Show this to Sorahiko Torino he will help you out if you ever fall in a difficult situation… this will also help you get in U.A. if you wish to"

"Old man you are raising some serious flags here!"

Gramps sighed and moved towards Ritsuka placing his hand on his shoulder he hugged Ritsuka.

Ritsuka who was confused at the events, Ritsuka's eyes abruptly widened in shock when he felt his Gramps spiritual energy course through him.

"Oi! Old man stop doing that" saying Ritsuka tried to push him back but, the old man kept his strong grip.

"Calm down Ritsuka… this is something I decided to do"

"What do you mean calm down!? You will die if you keep doing it goddammit" Ritsuka said while small tears filled his eyes, he used his spiritual energy to push back his Gramps.

"Don't resist Ritsuka… even if I continue to live on, I would only be able to live for a year or two more… at least with this I can give you my last blessings"

"B-but we can find some way to help you… I-I can provide my spiritual energy, ye-yes let's do that… please" Ritsuka said his voice shaking.

"No… I have lived long enough… it is about time I move on… Consider this as my last blessing, my successor… my grandson…" soon the Old man Yamamoto's body dispersed while Ritsuka fell to his knees, tears streaming down his face.

Though Ritsuka was a transmigrator he had come to accept the old man as his grandfather, his family in this world, in this new life of his…

***

Next day Ritsuka left the house dressed in black shirt and black pants, a grey backpack on his back. He walked towards a cliff where his Gramps used to spend some alone time, walking up there, removing his backpack, he kneeled before a stone tablet that read his Gramps name.

This was something Ritsuka made for his Gramps, the name on it was written using his spiritual energy to show his love and respect for the man who picked him from streets and took care of him.

"…Gramps, I am not sure whether I will be able to become the kind of successor you were hoping for me to be… but I do promise you I will try to make this world a better place"

Saying that Ritsuka held his hands in namaste and bowed slightly, placing flowers on the tablet, he got up and left with his backpack on.

Ritsuka left the mountain, walking around the town he neared the bus stop. He had being living with his Gramps in Gunma Prefecture, from what he knew the guy his Gramps mentioned, Sorahiko Torino lived in Tokyo. Ritsuka didn't have any plans on meeting him any time soon.

For past three years he hadn't copied a quirk other than his Gramp's quirk, it wasn't that he hadn't come across any quirk, though remote, this town had many quirk users but most were useless for him. Not to mention he had hardly travelled beyond this town.

Taking all of this in consideration, he had planned on travelling around to see if he could find some quirks useful to him. But it wasn't just that, he had also planned on making a team of his since no matter how powerful he became he couldn't do everything himself.

With that in mind he boarded the bus, his destination being Tochigi Prefecture.

Taking a seat he turned his head, gazing at the departing sceneries. After looking outside for a while he turned his head, looking at the letter he was holding.

Opening it, he read the letter which said…

-[ Ritsuka, Most my life passed away in fighting demons while searching for my successor to pass my mantle onto him/her. And finally my wish was granted when I met you but life gave me more than that, it presented you to me not just as my successor but also as my grandson. I didn't even realise when these 3 years went by and you from getting your ass kicked by me reached the point where even I in my prime would find you difficult to defeat. All that said these years had been the most memorable years of my life and I thank you for that.

I know your past wasn't something a kid should have gone through… to be honest with you, for the first few months even I had my suspicions on whether you would turn into a Villain, but as and how time went by, I realised that you might be cold and won't hesitate to take a life but I also know you won't take an innocent's life.

So, don't bother yourselves with being a Hero, this world is much crazier then we can think. I don't know whether Quirks helped us in some way or not, but they sure did become a reason to bring out true nature of Humans to surface.

With everything said, all I wish is for you to live a happy life and have a family. Though I won't be alive to play with my grandkids, my blessings will always stay with them and with you… my grandson ]-

Ritsuka though had a small smile on his face as he read the letter, his eyes couldn't hide the sadness he was feeling. Shaking his head he folded the letter and infused his spiritual energy in it, to preserve it and kept it in his pocket.

Plugging his earphones, he turned his head back to the side, gazing at the departing sceneries.
