Chapter 3: Quirk Re-awakened!

◇Ken's POV◇

It has been a little over four years since I was born in the world of My Hero Academia. Currently, I am attending pre-school, and I have no problems with learning, considering I am the most cheat existence when it comes to education. Though, if I were to count other problems, then that would be with my social activities, as mentioned by my mother a few times already.

I can't blame myself, though, because children are bothersome creatures. Excluding my sister, I haven't talked to anyone else my age. I decided that interactions should happen in later years and that this time of development should be spent on learning other fields of science and some martial arts.

Regarding martial arts, me and my sister have been coming to Old-man Mako's dojo for a while now, and all I can say is that it is paying off. I can feel that my body has become more firm compared to before and that I have mastered the basics when it comes to multiple traditional Japanese martial arts. My sister, rather, focused only on Aikido as it seems she couldn't handle practicing too many martial arts.

Other than my martial practices, I have also improved on my Quirk. Currently, I have already found various uses for my eyes, and this includes abilities that normally only animals could do or abilities that only psychics could do. Also, this got me thinking... What if I could also use other fictional abilities?

Then, my eyes began to feel itchy as I scratched them. A habit that I know I should always avoid, but it... it hurts...!!

"Kenny, are you alright?" Mei, my sister, who was sitting beside me in class, asked me worryingly as I began to feel tears leave my eyes.

"It hurts..." I said as I scratched my eyes again in panic.

"Ken-kun, what's happening?" My worried teacher said, pausing whatever she was teaching.

I ran as fast as I could towards the windows and opened them widely as I screamed when blue lasers of heat came out of my eyes.

"AGHHHHHH!!" I screamed as I tried my best to point the laser to the sky. The lasers also kept interchanging from large blast-like lasers to heat-inducing lasers.

Then, the lasers stopped as I looked around and heard gasps of shock from the people around me. I touched my eyes worryingly, and I felt that it became hollow while I heard whispers from my mind, making me cover my ears in fear.

All of it stopped as I calmed down, but this time, I could see my surroundings turned blue, and everything was covered in glowing red vein-like lines. However, I couldn't stop and think about what was happening as I passed out.

◇General POV◇

Inside a hospital room, the Hatsumes were currently gathered while a doctor was explaining something to them. It can be seen that the Hatsumes had worry in their eyes, considering that one of their family members laid unconscious on the bed.

"What's happening, doctor? Will my Kenny be fine?" Melody said worryingly.

"You don't have to worry, ma'am. It seems that Ken-san has re-awakened his Quirk; it is a very rare occurrence, but in most cases, this situation usually happens when one's Quirk strengthens or enhances." The doctor said.

"*Phew* That's a good thing, right?" Kaito said, relieved.

"Yes, sir. Though, while it is a good thing, you still have to be careful because his quirk might go out of control. However, considering that he was able to control it and not damage his surroundings with the lasers as seen by the witnesses, then there should be nothing to worry about." The doctor said.

"Oto-san, Okaa-san... Kenny will be okay, right?" Mei said, looking sad.

"Yes, Mei-chan, Kenny will be okay!" Melody said, crouching to Mei's height and hugging her.

Then, the family felt movement coming from Ken as he woke up.

"What happened?" Ken said groggily as the doctor went to check on his vitals.

"You have re-awakened your Quirk, Ken-san, and went unconscious after over-expending your stamina and mental capacities due to your Quirk going out of control. Currently, you are in a hospital." said the doctor.

"Kenny, you're fine now!" Melody said as she and Mei ran up to Ken and hugged him.

"It seems that Ken-san is okay now; you just have to go check out from the front desk, and you're good to go." said the doctor.

Then, the Hatsumes went home, happy that Ken is safe.

A few weeks passed after the incident, and currently, Ken can be seen writing on a notebook. it seems he was trying to identify what other powers he could use.

"Heat vision, check.

Optic blasts, check.

Scary hollow eyes, check.

Mystic eyes...

Dojutsus..." Ken listed.

'It seems that, after my re-awakening, I can access the majority of other fictional eye powers. I wonder if the ones from Charlotte... Eh, I'll just try using it in the future. it would be hard for me to use them now since its drawbacks are kind of detrimental... I'll just know when I get there...' Ken thought while trying to remember any other abilities he could use.

...

Later that night, while Ken got up from sleep to go to the bathroom, he heard a rustling sound from outside his room. Ken was alerted, and he turned on his night vision to go looking for the source of the sound. He heard the noise once again, coming from their storage room.

'Didn't think someone would actually try to break in our house... I should probably tell Dad to increase the defense mechanisms around here since the alert hasn't activated even though someone broke in...' Thought Ken while activating his x-ray vision on the room.

'Hmmm, so that's why... He has some sort of phasing Quirk...' Ken thought after using his scan ability to see the guy's Quirk. Then, he tried to enter the room but he stopped to think.

'Perhaps, I should try Plunder on him... He has quite the useful Quirk, and he dared to break in our house... So, don't mind if I do... Hehehehe...' Ken thought while rubbing his hands together and laughing evilly to himself.

After seeing that the burglar was busy looking for things to steal, Ken sneakily entered the room and went near the guy as he used the Plunder ability to possess him. After a few seconds, Ken let go of his control for the burglar, and without letting the thief notice him, Ken went behind him, and karate chopped him to unconsciousness.

'Didn't think I would get an opportunity this early... Hahaha... Also, considering the drawbacks of this ability, I should probably write every important memory I have on a journal or put it in a file. Just in case I find an interesting Quirk to steal.' Ken thought before leaving the room.

Then, Ken went to his parents' room to alert them of the guy who broke in.

"Oto-san! Okaa-san! There was a burglar trying to steal from our storage... And... I didn't know what to do, so I knocked him out... Haha..." Ken said to his recently awoken parents while rubbing the back of his head nervously.

"What?!?" The parents shouted, synchronized.

"Call the police, Kaito! What are you waiting for?" Melody shouted towards her husband.

"Okay, okay... Wait a second!" Kaito reached for his phone while panicking, and then he called the police.

"Ah, hello... Sorry for calling this late at night, but there seems to be a burglar in our house and... Our s— Uhh, I mean... We kind of knocked him out in surprise... So, could you come and get him..." Kaito said, nervous.

"Aright, can you tell us where this is? ..." The other side of the phone was heard, and they asked for more details as a few minutes later, the police arrived. The police arrested the burglar while one of them went to talk with Melody and Kaito.

"So, basically, after noticing a burglar, enter your home... You knocked them out...?" said the police.

"It was in panic... We didn't know what to do..." Kaito said nervously.

"Right... You didn't think that you could call the police first?" Asked the police.

"It was in the heat of the moment... So... We're very sorry if we have caused an inconvenience!" Kaito replied while slightly bowing.

"Oh, it's fine, it's fine... I was just worried because you might have gotten hurt if the thief didn't get knocked out so easily... So, we're glad that you're safe... That's all... Then, excuse us as we will deal with the guy first..." said the police.

"Okay, thank you very much!" Kaito said, finishing the conversation.

After that, Ken received a scolding from his mother that his ears hurt even until the next day.
