The Descent

'So I can go about 4 km deep into the methane ocean, it is still pretty deep but considering that Titan is a methane moon the oceans must be tens of kilometers deep.'

I was steadily going down to the huge waves of Titan.

Why did I come here? To find out if that huge 'thing' is swimming here.

Before the Pyramids swallowed the planets and moons, on Titan in a certain mission you go deep into the New Pacific Arcology and get to Savathûn's Song.

If you don't kill it immediately, you will be able to see a shadow on the glass, it is unknown what it is, but presumably, a Hive creature that has grown to incredible sizes.

If it is in Titan, then the Hive is in this world as well, and if the Hive is here, then so are the Traveler, the Pyramids, and other creatures such as Cabal, Eliksni/the Fallen.

If they are all here, then this humanity is dead.

(After a few hours of searching)

'Phew, good thing that it isn't here, but there is a good chance that it's deeper down.'

I sighed, sad that I can't go deeper down.

I will have to pray that there are no Enemies of Humanity factions but hope that there are the factions that had an interest in humanity.

But the Darkness is also dangerous for this humanity, they do not know the dangers of Darkness corruption without the Collapse if this humanity will even get a Golden Age.

'Oh well, let's go back to Earth, safer there and more comfortable.'

I began my attention and started going up slowly, but I spotted something shining in this green methane sea.

"Sundance, what is that?"

"I don't know, but what I am reading is similar to your Light."

Sundance was looking attentively toward the shining light.

'Similar to the Light huh?'

I turned my ship towards it and started going towards it.

(45 minutes later)

It was pretty far away, but I made it here.

The thing is a diamond-shaped shard that has swirling black spots on its surface.

'This shard, it has a combination of Darkness and Light from what I can see. Should I take it or store it? Decisions decisions.'

"What is that thing Cayde? I feel a connection and a repulsive force in that shard."

Sundance looked scared and confused.

"I do not know, but I do know that it is a combination of the Light and Darkness."

I replied, being wary of this shard of Light and Dark.

'The Power of Darkness is tempting considering that in Beyond Light, the Guardians could wield it.'

I moved my ship so that I was over the shard, opening the storage I began controlling the robotic arms and grabbed the shard and brought it back in.

'If I can research this shard, it will benefit me a bit.'

I made it outside of Titan's atmosphere.

Starting up the NLS Drive I aimed towards Earth, but something stopped the NLS Drive from charging up.

"What is going on with the Warp Drive?"

I quickly asked Sundance, she calculated for some seconds and then answered me.

"Something is stopping us from warping to Earth."

I widen my eyes at that response.

'Something powerful enough to have reality under its control?'

"There are two entities that I know that have this power, the Traveler, and the Pyramids."

'There is also the Vex but their reality-bending has a visual effect, this does not.'

"What should we do Cay-"

Sundance was cut off by me blacking out.

(3rd POV)

Cayde woke up in the...Void.

A place where the Light and Dark were created before the universe began.

"Where...am I?"

Cayde was feeling weird, he does not know where he is.

"..."

Cayde looked behind him, feeling an intent of making itself known.

He saw...something, a thing that he can only see as a blur, but what he can see is that it emits light.

'Is this the Traveler?'

Cayde tried to move forward, but couldn't.

"..."

'You want me...to free you?'

Cayde was confused, what was holding the Traveler in place?

"..."

'The Darkness huh.'

Cayde thought about it for a bit but noticed that the Light was being swallowed, or pushed back.

'If I free you fully, will you destroy the Darkness Completely?'

Cayde knows that one can not exist without the other, so if one is destroyed the other will collapse on itself.

"..."

The intent was clear and understandable, it wants to be free so that it can protect itself, not attack the other.

'I will free you, but what will you do when the Darkness has noticed that I'm here?'

"..."

The Light will bestow power to Cayde when the Darkness will want to corrupt him, it doesn't want the only Guardian in this universe to be corrupted by the Darkness.

'I will use these powers reasonably.'

Cayde willed for something to 'unlock', and it did.

The figure of the Traveler became less blurry and shone brighter, Cayde felt the connection to his Light strengthen and become more flexible.

'I thank you for this power, Traveler.'

"..."

Cayde then saw how the Traveler increased its size and territory, for the power now unlocked was too much for the small form.

Cayde was amazed that so much power in a small sphere in this vast universe, but then he realized.

'Does this mean that this humanity will experience a Golden Age and a Collapse?'

"..."

At some point, every single humanity in every universe will experience a Golden Age and a Collapse, it is inevitable no matter how much you try to stop it.
