chapter 4

"worry not child, I mean you no harm," the good hunter smiled.

"He's scary," the girl whispered as she hid behind nagant.

That definitely was a blow to the good hunters pride, but he would not let that discourage him.

"Don't worry eri, he's only scary to bad people. And you are not a bad girl okay eri?" Nagant said as she crouched to confirm the scared child.

"Don't worry mini apprentice, this great one will not let any further harm come to you, I swear it," a hint of cosmic energy flowed through the good hunters eyes.

"Promise" the innocent girl asked.

"I promise mini apprentice" the hunter smiled.

This was why he hunted, for the children like this. He put an end to the hunt so children didn't have to suffer as he did.

"Local news: a local criminal organization was wiped out overnight. There were no survivors, but all members were dealt with. Including their apparent leader...."

The good hunter smiled fondly at eri and gently pinched her nose.

"Now they will never hurt you mini apprentice, like I promised," he said.

Eri looked up to the good hunter as if he was like her guardian angel, which he technically was.

It was a running joke how she would be the safest in this shop, but the customers would soon realize just how right they were.

"Protect this child," a soft whisper came to the good hunters ear.

'yes mother,' the good hunter said with a hum.

...

Apparently the good hunters action caused him to be very hated amoung the heros. Because now they were being forced to roam the streets both day and night.

Surprisingly the crime rate dropped a whole 5 percent compared to before the good hunter arrived.

In his opinion, that wasn't enough. He needed it to be down more. And where better to start than at the very top?.

In His shop, apparently the mystery bread was quite the hit. Apparently it was like playing Russian roulette.

Sometimes it'll be good, sometimes very bad. Sometimes pickles, sometimes strawberry. One time mayonnaise, on time ketchup.

Really that's why they were under the mystery section.

People either loved it, or hated it. Really, it was no wonder they kept coming back. Who doesn't love gambling.

"Mini apprentice you wash your hands," the good hunter said as he finished delivering the plates to nagant who delivered to the customers.

"But I can't reach," she said.

"Do not worry mini apprentice. This great one shall help you," the good hunter smiled and gently picked her up.

There wasn't much to say about the mini store. Other than the fact that eri brought up the sales.

...

Crime at night did significantly decrease, but now daytime crimes were at a new peak.

*Sigh*

"Life is never easy is it?" The good hunter said.

Right now he sat at the kitchen table conducting his poison knifes. The poison was extremely effective against men and beast.

Youll be dead in about 10 to 15 seconds flat depending on your immune system.

Once the knife lands, it'll inject the poison into the bloodstream, shutting down the bodily functions.

Their lips turned black, and underneath their fingernails the same. If anything, this was nothing more than the good hunter being cautious. He had learned to always do so in yharnam.

Rather be over prepared than under prepared.

Reminds him of the first time he woke up in isofkas clinic. He woke up like a new born, but faught like a demon. Only death could put him down, even if temporary.

Not even a name was given to him, at least until The doll called him good hunter. Like that it stuck like butter, that's how he introduced himself.

In yharnam there was also a language barrier. He could understand what they said, but they couldn't understand what he said. So he just... Stayed quiet.

He helped where he could, but not even he could be invincible. Sometimes people died under his care, but what else was he supposed to do?

It wasn't like he could build a safe area in yharnam, that was simply impossible. Even the incense didn't help as much as they would lead you to believe.

If you had many of it, then yes It could definitely keep the beast away. But if you only have one of two, that will barely keep you alive for 2 hours max.

*Sigh*

The hunter had such fond memories of yharnam. As some would lead you to believe, it wasn't all that bad.

There was a couple of bars that people would go to if they were brave. They usually mixed alcohol with the old blood. Crazy bastards really... But good drinks.

The church was also a pain in this hunters ass. Because even if he cleaned the streets of beast, they continued to distribute the old blood.

It was a never ending loop that no one could escape from. Not even poor Gilbert.

So that was the good hunters promise to yharnam, either end the hunt (which he did) or destroy every single beast.

He could never remember his childhood, but only a could of memories that were visions.

One of a man carrying civilians out of a burning building, and one of crying at the hospital as a child.

Weird... Isn't it?
