Chapter 25: Sports Festival (4)

As the game started, everyone tried to zoom on to Team Hatsume. But just as they came in about a five meter radius around Team Hatsume, they heard a small sound.

*bzzzzbzzzz*

Just as they heard the sound, the closest three teams got electrocuted into unconsciousness.

"Three down! Let's get the head band!" Mei screamed with excitement.

The ones who were going after Team Hatsume started to contemplate what to do, as they figured that when they come in a radius of five or six of Team Hatsume they will be electrocuted.

On the other hand, Mei started to collect the headbands of the teams that they had taken out. Then looking down at Jōichirō she said "That was a wonderful trap Saiba."

"Thanks, it wouldn't have happened if you didn't have this ultra mega taser with you." Jōichirō told her by tapping a bulky gadget on his hip.

Mei started to giggle with happiness, as her babies were getting the attention that they deserved.

Just then, Mezō spoke "Todoroki and team are coming this way from 10 O'clock, it seems like Kaminari has absorbed the electricity and Yaoyorozu has made some kind of insulation to block it."

"I figured if anyone could pass through the trap it would be them and Bakugo. Speaking of him, where is he?" Jōichirō said and looked around, but he couldn't find Bakugo.

Suddenly they hear a shout from above "DIE YOU GEEZER BOY!"

"Mei, be a good rider and swat him please." Jōichirō told her.

"Okie dokie." Saying that Mei waved her hand in slapping motion, a five foot long pole shot out from her gauntlet and slapped Bakugo square in the face.

*Bang*

And he flew straight to his teammates and Hanta caught him with his tapes.

"Damn, that gotta hurt. I'm sure he'll come back with more ferociously now." Jōichirō spoke out loud.

"Saiba! Todoroki!" Mezō told him using one of his dupli arms as a mouth that was near the ear of Jōichirō.

Just as he said that, a steam of fire was shot right in front of Jōichirō and ice was shot to block Mezō from moving back.

But, Jōichirō absorbed the fire that was shot in front of him and blasted it back straight towards Todoroki, and Todoroki blocked it with an ice wall.

By the time Todoroki dissolved the ice wall, Team Hatsume had left the area and they were facing an angry Bakugo.

"Damn it Todoroki! I told you he can absorb fire." Denki said from the side.

Bakugo who saw Todoroki told his team "Leave the half n half bastard, we need to get that bitch."

On the other side where Bakugo and Todoroki were situated, Shinso was having a field day by taking down teams with the least points. As he was doing that he came across Team Hatsume, so to try his luck Shinso asked Jōichirō "I thought you were fighting with your own classmates, why are you here then?"

"Nothing, I just needed to buy time and get some points, nothing more." Jōichirō replied while shrugging.

Seeing that Jōichirō was not affected by his quirk Shinso was dumbfounded and stammered out "How?"

"How what?" Jōichirō asked back with a smile.

Shinso didn't say anything as he understood that Jōichirō was immune to his quirk. Grumbling, Shinso moved his team to another corner, so that he won't have to face Jōichirō.

Jōichirō on the other hand just kept his smile and moved on towards other teams.

Back with Bakugo, as he was about to search for Jōichirō, an obnoxious voice was heard "So that's how much Class 1A think themselves huh."

"What the fuck is your problem." Saying that Bakugo blasted an explosion right onto the guy's face, and as the smoke from the explosion died down, the blonde boy was smiling at him with his face and hands looking like a rock.

Without wasting a second, the blonde extended his hand towards the face of Bakugo and made an explosion that is similar to Bakugo created.

"Now I get why you were so haughty. It's an amazing quirk." Saying that he grabbed the headband on Bakugo and moved away from them.

Bakugo seeing this screamed at his team "Forget about geezer boy! We're going after that bastard."

Like that the ire of Bakugo was switched to the new guy who pissed him off.

Back with Team Hatsume, they mainly depended on Mezō to know from which direction other teams are coming, relied on the electric shield that has been deployed by Jōichirō around five meters away from them in a circular shape, fully used Mei's 'super cute babies' to evade those who had bypassed the electric shield.

Like that they went around the ground to get some points and make sure that their combined points didn't get stolen either. They did come across two other teams that consisted of class 1A and class 1B. The team from class 1A consisted of Jirō, Hagakure, Koda and Sato, they didn't try anything funny as they know what Jōichirō is capable of. The team from 1B, directly attacked Team Hatsume to get more points but they couldn't even touch a single hair of any of the team members of Jōichirō as they evaded every attack that was thrown at them. Before long, the class 1B team's headband was in the hands of Shinso, who effortlessly subdued them.

Todoroki and his team had taken a lot of points on the way to find and get the points of Jōichirō. But they couldn't reach Team Hatsume on time to get the big fish as Midnight announced that the time was up.

"Time's up! Everyone will stop now!"

The students who were fighting for the points stopped what they were doing and assembled at the front of the stage where Midnight was standing. Jōichirō stood with his team, and he still has the ultra mega taser in him.

Around him the other teams were also present, huddled in with their teammates. Team Todoroki and team Jirō were near Jōichirō as they had been in the same vicinity after the Calvary Race ended.

Looking at the students who had gathered in front of her, Midnight spoke.

"Now, let's take a look at the top four teams right away!

In first place, Team Hatsume!

In second place, Team Todoroki!

In third place, Team Bakugō!

In fourth place, Team Shinso!

These four teams will advance to the final round!"

Seeing the results, the ones who got into the next round cheered and the ones who didn't got sad.

Then suddenly, Ojiro raised his hand to get Midnight's attention, so she nodded at him to say what he wanted.

"I don't want to participate in the next round."

"Yeah me two." Another one also said.

Looking at them Midnight asked "Why is that?"

"Because we don't remember how we got the points at all. And I don't want to advance into the next round without knowing what I did to contribute." Ojiro said.

The other student also nodded at what he said, agreeing with it.

Midnight asked again "Are you sure about this?"

"Yes Ma'am." Both of them replied.

"Okay, then as there is three more position to be filled in the next round, the team who got the fifth place will can sent in three students." She then looked at the scoreboard and said "Team Midoriya, you can send in three members of your team, one of you has to sit back."

All the focus was then on Team Midoriya to know who would participate.

Asui who was standing with Midoriya and the rest said "Ribbit.... I'll sit this one out guy's. You can participate in the next round... Ribbit."

With that, the final round participants were decided, so Present Mic announced [Now we'll take an hour's break for lunch before we start the afternoon festivities! See ya!]
