"No! I can definitely become a hero even if I don't have a quirk!"

[Ding!]

[...Task progress: +1% (31%)]

The first thing Naoyuki heard after putting a foot in the classroom was Izuku's adenoidal screams, like if he was about to cry. But the gnashing of teeth at the end of the sentence controlled those emotions, and he, standing in front of all those kids, showed his stubbornness.

Naoyuki was a little surprised by what he was seeing. Unlike his expectations, this was not the:

[Kid] [Kid] [Kid] [Kid] [Kid]

[Kid] __ [Izuku] __ [Kid]

[Kid] [Kid] [Kid] [Kid] [Kid]

scene of the anime, where Izuku silently absorbed the harsh comments one after another, and then, transformed them into the most annoying insecure personality at the beginnings of MHA.

For better or for worse, the Izuku currently in action was confronting the rest of the class… a forthright and courageous act, Naoyuki had to admit.

But the repercussion of that revolt was not going to be unnoticed, as soon as the kids reacted from the reprisal scream of Izuku, they took part of a more hostile reaction.

"Don't be silly, heroes need to have quirks to be heroes!" One of the kids said.

"Yeah, I read that in a book, heroes are people with quirk, you're stupid Izuku."

Another child even came up with a decent argument: "Why would a quirkless person want to become a hero in first place, being a hero is for get a license to use quirks, so, if he doesn't have a quirk, why would he want to get a license, that doesn't make sense."

"No! You're wrong, heroes are the people that can protect others! The quirk is not important." Izuku raised his flooded voice among so many comments. "Might Gai once said: 'All efforts are pointless, if you don't believe in yourself.', so, if I believe in my self, and work for a purpose, I can achieve what I want. And I want to become a hero!"

The kids silenced for a bit, but 'Three heads are better than one', not mentioning that there're around thirty kids in this room, soon, one of them came up with the logic failure to destroy his argument.

"Eh? Who is this Might Guy? Never heard about it?" This kid in question said, and then he turned to look at his companion. "Have you heard about it? Katchan?"

"Nope, never," Katsuki Bakugo answered, and then stared at the ostracized Izuku of the room: "Izuku, are you so dumb that confused All Might's name? All Might isn't even quirkless… unlike you."

"They are different people! Might Gai is one person, and All Might is another. The Might Gai I'm talking about didn't had cha… he was quirkless, but even so was able to fight strong villains and saved an entire country!"

"Never heard about him." The kids just denied, with justified reasons.

Naoyuki sighed as well: Having all those reasons, why he had to choose Might Gai?

"Isn't he inventing all that stuff to pretend that being quirkless is something to be proud of?" Little whispers were heard, and in no time, that murmur passed by everyone's ears.

It happened so fast, that it ended up as a clear uproar that even Izuku could hear.

"Yeah, Izuku is just telling lies!"

"Stop lying, a quirkless person can't become a hero."

"Izuku liar."

"Hey, maybe he does have a quirk after all, telling lies is his quirk."

"Hahahaa, look at me! My quirk is telling lies that no one believes!"

"Hahahahaha!"

"Liar."

"I'm not a liar! I'm saying the truth!" Izuku tried to stop the word avalanche.

"All liars says that they're not liars."

"Izuku liar! Liar Izuku!"

"PAMMMMM!!!"

The loud sound coming from the just slammed door caught the attention of every individual in the room, thirty heads turned to look almost immediately after the impact. It was not the wind, it was not a teacher, it was just a kid.

"Naoyuki! You finally came to school!" A dog head kid whooped.

For a moment, all children stopped paying attention to Izuku at the rear of the classroom, instead, they showed brisky smiles while approaching Naoyuki, by the warm welcome he was receiving, the original Naoyuki had to be somewhat popular among these kids.

Naoyuki put on an inexpressive face.

The difference was abysmal compared to the treatment to Izuku, if he wasn't there watching, Naoyuki wouldn't believe that they were the same infants. As soon as these kids stood in front of him, they started bombarding him with questions, like why didn't he come to school for a week, as well as telling him events that happened during his absence, the word friendliness falls short for such greeting.

But Naoyuki showed indifference, because behind the host of people, he could see Izuku. The green haired kid just stood there, in complete silence, obsolete, watching, hearing, but only not thinking. He had mixed feelings.

And like a cornered victim, despite there were no more people around him, he sat on the floor hugging his legs… expressionless.

"Hey Naoyuki, have you heard it? Izuku said that a person without quirk can be a hero, isn't that funny?" One kid with horns said laughing, just to make conversation.

"Why is that impossible for you?" Naoyuki took a cold piercing look at the child.

"Huh?" The kid was scared and confused. "Why are you looking at me like this?"

Naoyuki rested his hand on the shoulder of the horn boy, following that, he gave little slow claps on his cheeks with the back of his fingers. "Probably because you deserve it."

Nobody said a word. The rest of the class realized that Naoyuki was in bad mood, so smartly opened a road for him.

And Naoyuki walked. Every step was a century, and every kid was staring at how he walks. He didn't do it intentionally, the responsible were his legs in pain, but despite that, the slow rhythm of his pace added tension to the matter.

However, in the end, they were kids, without much waiting, they started to talk to each other.

"What's going on with Naoyuki?" A little cyclops girl whispered.

"I don't know, did we do something wrong?" Someone else said in a confused tone.

"Why is he mad at us… is he mad at us to begin with?"

"I think I know what happened, yesterday I saw Naoyuki playing with Izuku in the park, and…"

"With Izuku? That 'baka'? No way!"

"Yeah, and I'm telling you, I think he's mad because we made fun of Izuku."

"Oh, come on, he's the person that always bullies Izuku… after Katchan."

"Yeah, but things are different if we do it. My mom always nags me, but when my neighbors say something bad to me, my mom gets really mad, I think it's like that."

"But nothing happened before, why now?"

"Wait, maybe because…"

"What happened?" Naoyuki asked loud in front of Izuku.

His eyes were looking at the boy sitting on the floor, but the question was for the rest of the class. Or at least he wished that Izuku had the courage to respond him that question, but this was not the case.

"I said… what the fu** happened here! Get the guts to say it!" Naoyuki was indeed mad, among the thirty people in the room, he's sure that most of these kids stomped Izuku just to make themselves 'part of the group'. Which Naoyuki has always despised this kind of cowards, even more than the conflict starters. Because the people that start it is just one or two, but the number of people that follow the game can be tens or hundreds or thousands, and what they do will make the conflict starters braver by having a bunch of idiots as human shields.

"Who started it!" Naoyuki shouted again, with a tone more of claim than of a question.

"Naochan…" Izuku said with a sorrow voice, while pulling his sleeve, like wanting to stop him. "It's okay."

Naoyuki stared at the green hair boy, and with one finger he pricked his thighs.

"Ouch!" Izuku screamed.

Yesterday's exercise didn't go easy on him neither.

'Jeez, why are these shounen main characters always this annoyingly soft, they insulted you dude…' Naoyuki couldn't help to think.

But the show must go on, same way with his act in front of everybody in the place.

He leaned, looked at Izuku's face, hugged him, and slowly whispered in his ears: "It's fine now…

…because I'm here."
