Chapter 9. 1v1 New found clarity

Remaking this chapter cuz the spelling was god awful. And the fight scene made me visibly frown. There's no way I actually wrote this. I was forced to read this due to the fact I had to go back to see where I was before I start on the next chapter. Anyway, enjoy.

Looking at a large screen with all our names on them, I nod as Ii turn around and head into the locker rooms, not even looking at who he was paired with, only remembering his round.

The list read:

First round: Sero vs hatsume

Second round: Tetsu vs tokoyami

Third round: Ibara vs momo

Fourth round: Tenya vs Bakugo

Fifth round: Ochako vs deku

Sixth round: Mina vs Kaminari

Seventh round: Todoroki vs ikari

Eighth round: Tsuyu vs kirishima

Seeing the list, many look at eachother with determined gazes. Including Ochako, who is excited for the fight while Izuku… not so much. With everyone going to the locker rooms finally, a 15 minute break takes place. In between these cheerleaders entertained the crowd.

But inside the locker rooms many conversations were taking place.

"Hey Izuku! Make sure you try your hardest!" Kirishima yells towards the timid boy."Ah!Y-yes thank you Kirishima-san" Izuku replies. "Do you guys know where Ikari-san went?" Izuku asks, which causes everyone to look around to notice he is in fact missing.

"That Idiot walked out as soon as we walked in. He must think we're below him!" Bakugo yells while stomping his foot impatiently. Meanwhile with Ikari, he is seen inside the restrooms, washing his face.

-Ikari Pov-

"Sigh, I should probably end all the matches fast. I don't want to delay this any longer than it takes…" I say while finishing washing my face. I then dry it with a few paper towels before dumping them in the trash and walking out of the restroom.

I start to walk to a vending machine to get a drink before I head back to the locker room. While getting my drink a large man with heat radiating from him bumps into me. Looking up and seeing the number 2 hero, I decide to quickly apologize and move on. "I apologize sir Endeavor, now if you excuse me I will be heading off now." I say as I try to walk past him.

"Wait a minute, I have something to discuss with you." He says. Stopping, not even bothering to turn around I reply, "And that is?" He pauses for a minute before continuing. "You will be a fine example to show the world of my son's power. The man who will grow to surpass All Might!" He proclaims proudly.

"For who?" I am confused about where this is coming from. "My son Shoto! He is my prized possession after all!" Endeavor yells with vigor. "Did you…just call your son your possession? I'm not one to butt into family matters but I don't think you should be calling your flesh and blood a possession." I say taking a step back.

"Ahem, I was just going to tell you that you are going to be a fine show of power for Shoto so he can become the number 1 here I dream for him to become!" He says with no shame.

"So you're trying to say…that I'm a stepping stone?" I ask , making sure I heard him correctly. "Well yes. There is no way my Shoto will lose, especially when he uses his left side! You are just a stepping stone for him." He yells in excitement, ready for the day Todoroki will surpass All Might.

"So you say, I will not say much. But I can guarantee this. Todoroki has no chance against me, especially when he's always holding himself back." I say before I walk off annoyed. There was absolutely no purpose in talking with Endeavor if I knew he was going to gaslight me like that.

Just to be petty, I guess I'll show them what true power is…

"WELCOME~ BACK GUYS! WE WILL NOW START THE FIRST 1V1 ROUND OF THE SPORTS FESTIVAL!!!" Present Mic yells in excitement causing the crowd to yell out. "ON THE LEFT SIDE, WE HAVE IKARI, HE HAS SCORED FIRST ON BOTH ROUNDS AND THE ENTRANCE EXAM!!"

"BUT ON THE RIGHT, WE HAVE TODOROKI, THE SON OF THE NUMBER 2 HERO AND SCORED THIRD ON THE OBSTICAL COURSE!!!"

Both of us walked into the ring, staring down at each other as we waited for the go ahead to either knock eachother out or push one of us outside the ring. "Todoroki, your father spoke to me before the match… Let's just say he has made things worse for you." I say as I tighten my muscles.

He doesn't respond but furrows his eyebrows in annoyance.

"Ready? Begin!" Midnight yells out as the match begins. Starting out, as I know he has the range advantage I swiftly slam my fist into the ring, causing dust to envelop me as I dash towards Todoroki.

In a panic he sends a large pillar of ice in my general direction which I swiftly dodge continuing my pursuit. Finally seeing my pursuit he jumps back sending another pillar of ice after another. Jumping on one another before using shunpo to close the distance. "What are you doing?" I say to Todoroki coldly. "This isn't a fight, what you're doing is trying to make this a spar." I say flash stepping next to Todoroki, ready to punch him.

Swinging towards his stomach to knock him off guard first before grabbing him by the head, kneeing him in the face. "You need to take this more seriously. Just look at you, I didn't even use my quirk in those attacks." I say letting his hair go before performing a spinning back kick causing him to gasp for breath.

"Tell me, what is your quirk? Todoroki." I say to him standing over him. Coughing a bit more before wiping the saliva off his mouth he replies. "Half.. hot half cold."

"Then why aren't you using that hot side of yours." I say punching him before he sends a large chunk of ice my way. Blocking it with my quirk enhanced arms , before leaping towards todoroki once again.

"If you dont dodge this one, you might die. It's best if you use that fire side of yours." I warn Todoroki as I charge up my attack as it turns red with sparks flowing from my fist. Todoroki seeing this creates a large pillar of Ice in an attempt to block the attack. "Red shock" I say as my fist hits the pillar, shattering it completely.

"You're starting to irritate me. Especially those eyes when I mention your other side of your quirk. Listen. Todoroki. I don't care what trauma you have on the fire side of your quirk. But understand this. If you think that your fire side of your quirk relates to your father. Then I should really kill you. It's not HIS quirk, it's YOURS. YOU UNDERSTAND!?" I say yelling at him with my fist clenched in aggravation. "IF YOU REALLY HATE HIM SO MUCH GET STRONGER AND SURPASS HIM WITH THE THING HE DOES BEST!! YOUR ONLY LIMITING YOURSELF!"

Putting his head down for a moment he finally speaks up. "Fine, if you want to see my quirk so much I guess I'll have to show you. He says getting up off the ground and his left side of his body ignites in flames. "Do you know when cold air and hot air combine?" He asks as my eyes widen.

"Guess I'll have to give it everything!" I say as I crouch down to charge my next attack a deep dark aura explodes out of my body as I activate it at its current maximum that won't destroy my body. Concentrating it around my fist as a pitch black bubble appears around it with the sounds of vibrations coming off of it.

"Black Break!" I proclaim at my newly amped version of "Black Smash"

Running towards Todoroki before swinging my arm out as Todoroki does the same, as multiple walls of cement appear in front of us. "Giving me something to him was the worst idea ever…" I say as my fist makes contact before a bright light occurs on the stage before a huge explosion ensures.

The results. Was a unconscious Todoroki and a semi-conscious Ikari, on the edge of the ring with evident drag marks on the remaining part of the stage.

"Hah…Hah… looks like I won this one." I say before collapsing. Seconds later cheers explode from the crowd. "Jeez, I can't even go to sleep in peace." I say with a small smile on my face.

"Ikari! Are you alright! I hear, opening my eyes to see Uraraka, Tsuyu, Izuku and others from 1A…except Bakugo. "More or less. You shouldn't worry about me, focus on your matches." I say looking towards the TV that reads out the next rounds

Fourth round: Ikari vs Kirishima

"And don't worry Tsuyu, i'll get your revenge for you." I say patting her head. During her match, Kirishima "accidently" grabbed her tongue and used it to throw her out of the ring.

"I don't really care about that, kero." She says, staring at me. "Are you really ok Ikari? If you don't feel well you should drop out." Tsuyu says worryingly.

"I told you, I'm fine! See!" I said getting up out of the hospital bed and stretching. "Just make sure you win for me, alright." She says punching me in the stomach lightly.

"I promise you. It's going to be a total brawl!"

Remade this chapter, or well the fight scene. I went here to see where I was and GOD this chapter was awful. I wouldn't be mad if people dropped this after reading it. So many misspellings and everything. And the fight did nothing for the plot like how the original did. Ikari just blatantly didnt give a fuck.

Like I wrote and I quote, "Not giving him the chance, I started to punch Todorki in the jaw rapidly for 30 consecutive seconds before he was unconscious." Alr maybe not word for word but that was the basis. I visibly frowned when I read this. Anyway, the chapter is coming today or tomorrow. Maybe today If I find something to eat in this god forsaken house.
