2 Talents&Points

For Thaumiel being a kid again was weird, to say the least.

Sure, he had only grown up to the point of being a teenager previously but he was a kid who lived by himself payed a couple bills and had a part-time job making it 'hard' to not view himself as an adult.

Still being fair there is something strangely relaxing about experiencing the unpretentious and unpreoccupied life of a kid after going through the more harsh life of grown ups.

How nice were the times when one's biggest worry is whenever there would be chocolate cookies or cupcakes for lunch?

Sure all the loud kids, with more than half looking straight up like aliens, was slightly discomforting as their appearance fell right into the uncanny valley of human esthetics and even when not very weird they still felt uncommon.

Thankfully Thumiel was always one to adapt fast, perhaps one of the few boons from having to always move from one city to another and living alone?

Anyhow he decided on spending the following time trying to relax his mood and better understand this world of 'quirks'.

Unfortunately there wasn't much information available from the rather limited memory he inherited, and he couldn't even properly acess all memories, still some stuff could be understood from it and inferencs could be made.

For starters as 'normal' as it seemed, currently he was in the bloody future!

The current year was around 2100 a whooping 80 years or so ahead of when he died…

Which seemed weird when one considered many things didn't really seem to have changed or look futuristic in any way…

After all, with the appearance of superpowers + 80 years of technological advancement one would imagine the future to look different in all aspects.

'Maybe there was a war or something? Or some kind of social revolution because of 'quirks'. Because if everyone gains quirks from birth they must have popped out at some point along human evolution, it seems like a fair assumption to say it should have hapenned somewhere around when I died, otherwise society wouldn't have remained so 'unchanged.'

Of course that was but his bold assumption.

Considering this was a world based off an anime, it wasn't exactly impossible for society to keep 'medieval' looks while already having terminator level technology.

'I'll have to slowly look for information if I want to really solve this doubt, now onto more pressing issues thou.'

Placing yet another building block in the small 'building' in front of him, Thaumiel was extra careful trying to balance the whole thing so it wouldn't collapse on itself.

'What's the deal with my quirks? Weren't people supposed to have only one? From this body's teachers brief explanation about quirks and looking carefully. The kids around me only have one quirk or so it looks, and what's up with this floating panel? It kinda looks like one of those systems but according to what's written it's most probably a quirk, is it even possible to have such a quirk?'

As usual he had his mind working in overdrive coming up with millions of questions and hypotheses of possible answers yet the current him simply lacked the information to make a solid hypothesis.

A floating panel only you could see and that had values on… it sure looked like a system yet it didn't respond to any questions or commands except from 'open' and 'close'.

Even weirder is the whole thing seemed kinda… useless?

Except for letting him know he had another quirk, and that it was currently unawakened it didn't really display anything he could work with.

So, to better explore the screen in front of him he decided on placing his attention on the keywords of the whole panel.

'Talent Redistribution, TTP and Talents'

From these 3 Thaumiel could obviously pick out a key words and infer the whole quirk/system worked around talent, or to be more precise the redistribution of talents.

'Then how to get a talent? there is nothing displayed on it to inform…'

In deep doubt Thaumiel was so distracted he even accidentally misplaced one of the building blocks causing his little construct to collapse.

Freezing his hand in the air he sighed and swept all the blocks back into the toy box before getting up and looking around.

Currently he had an idea in mind and needed a certain thing to test it out.

His eyes looked around before soon enough focusing on another group of kids on a certain table that were playing with some play dough.

Walking over he sat beside then taking one of the small 'slabs' of it in his hand.

'Alright let's try to sculpt something then…'

With a bit of an awkward technique Thaumiel tried to kneed and rearrange the play dough in his hand into a rather simple mug.

the result though looked a bit… well it didn't look good at all. If he were to try and sell this at the beach he would probably have to pay the client instead.

Still this served the purpose, because the moment he 'completed' his 'art' a small and almost inaudible ringing briefly sounded inside his head and calling up his panel he sure enough saw a change.

'Bingo!'

Sure enough, as soon as he performed a certain activity his 'talent' in the related activity was displayed.

'There's even a level, should most probably refer to my proficiency in the related activity. Is 15 a lot though? I can't really inspect other people's talent so there isn't much for me to compare with… and if there is a level then is talent the basis for the rate of improvement? Should be.'

Though fidning an answer was a thing to celebrate, the problem was far from solved and it only caused more doubts to appear in his mind… But along with it, a newfound enthusiasm also begun to bloom.

'Ahh~ what to do… I feel my ADHD flaring here… is it because this kinda feels like a videogame?'

Having never been a very much motivated person for most things he always had surprising difficulty focusing on something for long periods of time when outside of his interest.

Yet for some certain things he could spend hours and hours without as much as blinking or taking his eyes away.

Video games happened to be one of such things.

With a thumping heart and an enthusiasm much fitting his current child-like self Thaumiel smashed the mug back into a slab of play dough and went looking for the next thing to play with.

Thankfully with the various toys around he had the perfect opportunity to try a multitude of things, small fishing games, plastic swords, playing 'hero fights villain' with other kids.

Soon enough his Quirk had lots more of talents

With now more than 6 times his original amount of talent Thaumiel went back to the table where the play dough was kept and took another small slab in his hand.

Once again he went and tried to make a mug, this time however things went much different.

With time as he gradually focused on the sculpting in hand things seemed to flow more smoothly, his hands were gradually able to transfer the shapes in his mind more accurately to the dough in his hand.

He could also figure out some tricks to transform the dough shape into what he wished with more easy and efficiency.

He felt like he was in the zone.

The previous crooked and ugly corners now were neat and symmetrical, the uneven surface was now almost smooth.

In a short time he had a near perfect mug in hand made from playdough.

His mug turned so nice even the kids and the teacher nearby stopped for a second and cast a surprised look.

"Wow!"

"It looks just like the mug mom got at home!"

"Amazing! Amazing!"

"Do something else!"

And sure enough in a few seconds the kids around had already taken is little mug for 'appreciation'.

He wasn't bothered by it though as currently his eyes were shining while focused on something else.

'Kawabanga! Thats it! So the amount of talent is related to the rate of improvement... not its not only that I also seem to feel more in tune with the activity like I already knew what to do and was only slowly recalling it.'

With a smile on his face Thaumiel now had finally figured out how this 'quirk' worked, it was amazing to say the least.

Although with it he wouldn't turn into a superman or something similar

He was very sure this 'quirk' would have no problem letting him have a very easy time throughout his life!

"Muahaha I'm a genius!"

He laughed out loud jerking back his head and startling the surrounding kids.
