The Underworld

In the dark blanket of the night, the stars had forgotten how to shine; the night was relentless yet quiet. There were no sounds except the sound of silence which devoured all that is known. At least that's how the young former assassin felt as he jumped through the roofs. He was silent, every step he made was devoured by the silence. It was to be expected, he was raised for that, to be silent and to blend in the darkness. Quiet and deadly. Those teachings were a part of him, he would forever remember them and enable them, even if they brought forth memories that he would much rather forget.

He came to a stop in front of a big building, he inspected it from where he stood. It was a small hotel in comparison to the ones he infiltrated in the past few days, and unlike the others, this was in the 'love' district, the police were looking for him and with them some of the pro heroes as well. He didn't really understand why they bothered, Killua wouldn't be found unless if he wanted to be found. At any rate, for the past few days, he had pickpocketed enough people to buy a black hair dye, few clothes, a bigger bag, and of course food and first aid staff such as bandages, in addition, he infiltrated multiple hotels at nights so he could rest and clean himself. Right now, Killua was more like a ghost than anything, even when he walked in public people would overlook him, he didn't have his silver hair to stand out and even if he did he would still be invisible, it would only be a little harder for him to hide from the heroes that were looking for him; that would have delayed him at least a day or two and he couldn't really risk that, he didn't want to live by stealing not that his previous occupation as an assassin was any better, but he didn't like it.

In his hiding and blending in this new world, he had gathered information about the underworld, he had heard of a man that went under the name of Giran. He heard he was a greedy businessman that only cared for money, and he only bet on the best fighters but most importantly he could put Killua in the illegal fights. After he heard about this man, he decided to do his own research, he found him and tailed him for the past three days. His real name is Kagero Okuta, he is a broker and a C-rank villain. He had four fighters, he was intelligent and he was an affiliate of the League of Villains, not that Killua cared about those guys but it was good to know. Giran was a respected man in the underworld and supposedly hard to find if you think two hours search for the guy was a long time, and lastly his quirk, its name is Muddiness, he is able to induce amnesia by touching a person's head, that's dangerous; he would have to keep his distance from the guy, to make sure not to touch him. Ultimately, this guy was his best chance for fast and easy money, sure he was greedy but Killua had dealt with these kinds of people before. He knew about negotiations, in fact, there were times that his father would take him with him to business trips to learn about negotiations and learn he did. He wasn't as good as his father but he was still good, he had prepared a plan to confront him and he would strike tonight, after a warm bath.

It had been almost two weeks since he escaped from the hospital, in these two weeks he had learned how to read and write, he also had gathered more information about this world. He should try and call this world his own world, sure he wasn't originally from here but this place was his new home, he couldn't go back, even if there was a way to travel in other worlds, a quirk that could send him back, back to his friends, it would be impossible for him; Alluka's wish was law. He was banned from his world so he could be safe. To have a chance to live his life how he wants to live. The problem was that he didn't know how he wanted to live his life. What was he supposed to do? Illegal fights for the rest of his life? Thanks, but no thanks. He could be a vigilante, but there was nothing to gain. He was a realist, he believed that the vigilantes were the true heroes but there wasn't anything to gain from it, that wasn't for him, maybe for Gon but not him. He didn't do stuff that didn't benefit him, and when he did it was only for his friends and the people he cared about.

Villain? Yeah, that wasn't even a suggestion, if he wanted to continue his past habits he would have gone back to his family. He didn't kill without a reason, he even had standards, too HIGH standards. They would have to be like Illumi or even Hisoka. In all honesty, though, Hisoka may freak the shit out of him, but if he had to choose one of the two to follow, he would probably go with Hisoka. Yeah, he was a pedophile of some kind, but Illumi, well, he too was some kind of pedophile along with a little brother complex that only applied to Killua, not to mention he was a sadist of a whole different level. True, Killua was too, but not in the same way Illumi was. Illumi loved watching others suffer, Killua didn't. Pranks were mostly harmless mostly, torture wasn't.

Killua: I guess hero it is then. He said out loud as he watched the steam escape from his body. If I remember correctly, the entrance exam for U.A. is in April, so in three months. That's an awfully long time. Well, at least it gives me some time to save money. Hmm, hero. Would Alluka be proud of her big brother, if I managed to become a hero?... Alluka… no, I have to shake these thoughts away, for now at least. He sighed and then turned to look at the clock on the wall. Better get ready, don't want to miss the guy. Not that I would allow that.

He changed to a long-sleeved black shirt and pulled a white t-shirt over with sleeves that reached his elbows and had three black stripes in the sides of the sleeves that started from the neck and ended at the end of the sleeve. He wore black cargo pants that had a chain on one side. Black trousers and he had black half gloves. Lastly, he put on a black mask to conceal his identity. If he wanted to become a hero, black hair dye wasn't enough. He would later need to sever all connections he had with the underworld. He packed his things and looked around the room to see if he lest any evidence that the room had been occupied recently, happy to find none he got out of the room through the window the same way he got in.

This time he decided to stay on road and use his skateboard. He loved the feeling that came with riding it. Ten minutes letter he found himself infiltrate Giran's office and knocking out every single one of his men. He moved in the shadows avoiding all the cameras until he found his target's office. He slipped in unnoticed. Giran was sitting in his chair, he had his back turned on the window; a cigarette in his mouth, and his phone over his ear.

Giran: I'm telling you; she is perfect a little psycho but perfect for your cause. She will be a valuable pawn for the league. Killua got closer unnoticed once again and strained himself to hear the voice on the other side of the line. What? He got curious. This probably had to do with the league.

Other side of the phone: Fine, bring her tomorrow so I can meet her and decide then. He heard a gruff voice say. He was surprised that he was actually able to hear the conversation with no problems 'Oh no, I'm turning to Gon' He thought.

Giran: You won't be disappointed.

Other side of the phone: I hope not for your own safety. The voice said and then he ended the call. Giran started to sweat a little at that statement.

Giran: Asshole, without me you wouldn't have any members. Then he turned around to see a black-haired kid with a mask covering the lower part of his face. His eyes widened as he realized that his office was infiltrated. Who are you? He asked as calmly as he could and pressed the button for backup that was under his desk.

Killua: Your man won't come. I knocked them all out. You can check your cameras if you want. The kid said with a calm yet cold tone. Giran did as he was told with a little bit of panic rising inside of him. He saw on his computer screen every single of his man down. Don't worry they are not dead. The kid said.

Giran: You didn't answer my question, who are you?

Killua: Let's go with nameless. For now. Giran scowled trying to look intimidating, while Killua found his efforts amusing.

Giran: What do you want?

Killua: To fight and earn money. Giran's eyes widened once again in the revelation, then a grin appeared on his face a greedy grin.

Giran: If you wish to fight for me, the money is split into 30 to 70.

Killua: And I'm guessing you get the 70%, correct? Giran nodded. It's either 50-50 or 60-40 in my way or I can always take every single penny you have and walk out as if I was never here with your money, or maybe hack your bank account and take them that way. It's really your choice, easy way or the hard way. Either way, I get the amount of money I want and you, you either can benefit from it or lose it all. He said, of course, he was bluffing for the hacking part, sure he was good but not that good; Giran though didn't need to know that.

Giran: If you can do that, then why make yourself known in the first place, or even why would you want to fight if you can rob me so easy?

Killua: Two reasons. 1. Connections. Connections are important to keep, and you can also gain knowledge. He paused then a grin decorated his face, Of course, Giran couldn't see it. 2. For the fun. Taking your money sure is easy, but it's also boring, while fighting is thrilling and exciting. He wasn't lying this time, even as a hero, connections in the underworld were important, he could use those connections to gain information on villains and their plans. The fun and boredom-killer was just a plus.

Giran: So, you've got me cornered. Alright then. Fifty-fifty on the condition, your first match is right now and you have to win.

Killua: Should expect you would choose 50-50 instead of 60-40. He said grinning. Fine, show me the way and I'll win this. Confidence overflowing from him at the same time excitement, he hadn't fought for a while.

Giran: Confidence is good but Overconfidence is dangerous kid.

Killua: Only if you don't have the skills to back it up.

Giran: I like you kid and I believe you would bring a lot of money, so don't go dying on me.

Killua: Wasn't planning to.

Giran: Good, follow me.

It took them fifteen minutes to arrive at their destination, at those fifteen minutes were covered with silence, a little bit uncomfortable but Killua seemed to not care at all.

Once they arrived, they saw inside a cage two-man fighting using their quirks, the place where they were was filled with people, cheering or booing the fighters.

Giran: The one on the right, with whips as hands is Whiphand as you can see his quirk is whips. He is one of the weakest fighters.

Killua: Whiphand? Seriously? Did they run out of good names or something? (A/N Glad you ask Kill, yes as a matter of fact I did, also they are extras so lame quirks and names, I didn't bother much with them.)

Giran: It's lame isn't it? He said as he scoffed at the Whiphand. Yours isn't better though, but I guess is only temporary. Anyway, the guy on the left is a little better. His quirk lets him duplicate any part of his body. He calls himself duplicator.

Killua: Any part? Killua asked with a raised eyebrow while trying to hide his snickers.

Giran: Kid, I never asked, never will. But he's probably the one that you'll have to go against to, so ask him then… and tell me later, I'm curious. By the way, what's your quirk? Killua placed an evil grin on his face.

Killua: You will have to find out. He said as he slowly walked towards the cage where the Duplicator was proclaimed the winner.

Giran: Kids these days. I'm curious about his performance.

Killua enters the cage with his hands in his pockets and an indifferent look. The announcer looked at him then he looked back at Giran who gave him a thump up.

Announcer: It seems like we have a surprise match between Duplicator and…

Killua: Nameless, for now.

Announcer: And Nameless, bets are still allowed. Now, who will win the fight against the Fearsome Duplicator? 'Fearsome my ass, this guy reminds me of Majtani' ( A/N Majtani was the blue guy that fought against Kurapika at the trick tower. The one that pretends to be a member of the Phantom troupe.) Killua thought. Or our newest addition Nameless? Cheers erupted from all the stadium, as well as yells like, "kid you're gonna get yourself killed" "You're finished kid" "Hope you have someone to pay for your funeral"

The announcer stepped out of the ring so the fight could begin.

Killua: I have a question.

Duplicator: This ain't school kid. Here we fight we don't ask questions. Duplicator said as he charged at Killua while he duplicated his arms.

Killua: I'm gonna ask anyway. Can you duplicate every part of your body? Like every single part? He asked as he dodged all the attacks with his hands in his pockets.

Duplicator: Yes, every single part.

Killua: That's kinda funny. Anyway, I got bored so… Killua said then disappeared from in front of him and appeared behind and chopped him in the neck leaving him unconscious. The crowd was silent for one second then the next it erupted in cheers.
